TITUSVILLE, FL – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today praised the Pennsylvania legislature’s passage of Senate Bill 3, a measure that would spare unborn children from dismemberment abortions and almost all late-term abortions.

“Dismemberment abortions are as horrifying as they sound -- babies in the womb have their arms, legs, and heads torn from their bodies,” said Fr. Pavone.  “Yet, as Priests for Life’s undercover investigations conclusively show, these brutal slayings happen every day on healthy babies of healthy mothers in the latest stages of pregnancy. (Hear this call made to a Philadelphia abortion facility). Pennsylvania’s legislature has acted with great compassion to protect these children from acts no civilized society should allow.”

The Pennsylvania House has passed what some are calling the strongest pro-life bill in the nation.  The measure, which was approved by the State Senate earlier this year, protects from abortion unborn babies who are 20 weeks along or older whom science shows can feel pain.  It also stops procedures where babies of any age are dismembered and decapitated in the womb.  The bill now goes to the desk of Governor Tom Wolf.

“Governor Wolf has said he will veto this humanitarian legislation, thereby sentencing innocent children to death,” added Fr. Pavone.  “My prayer is that Pennsylvania lawmakers will reject the influence peddling of the abortion industry and override the governor’s veto.”
