Dear Alveda King:
i just saw your press conference on cspan, regarding your pro-life activities.
and i have to say that that when i heard you say that you are a Star Trek fan, and preceded to quote the show i was shocked.
for you to quote Star Trek by saying “the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one” shows how ignorant you are of the values championed by Gene Roddenberry and Start Trek in general.
NO, it’s not about the need of the many..
it’s about the primacy of the individual !!!
Star Trek is ALWAYS about the importance of the person.
as far as your views on abortion, i can understand now why you think the government should get in the room with the pregnant woman and her doctor.
i think this matter should be between a pregnant woman and her doctor. it’s a medical issue, not a political one.
finally, using your religion to justify your political ideology is contrary to our constitution.
we live in a free democratic, pluralistic society.
