New Book: Dred Scott was a person

Obsessed, Unhooked and Unprotected? Get Hooked!

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

This really happened! A group of “girls” aged 59, 47, 24 and 13 went to the movie “Obsessed.” By the way, the movie had some really good points in that Beyonce stayed dressed the whole time, and yet, was as sexy as ever. The man who portrayed her husband was very good looking, yet he didn’t flash any skin either, and he stayed dressed the whole time too. Their love scenes were reminiscent of the days when much was left to the imagination, leaving more time for the overall plot. While the profanity was minimal, and I must admit I could relate to the “B” word regarding the naughty protagonist, a psychotic woman trying to seduce Beyonce’s husband, the movie would have been even better without any cursing. They were a loving couple with a cute baby, and the wife was still pursuing her intellectual interests by going to school on line while being a wife and mother. They moved into a lovely home and were very romantic. A delusional woman tried to seduce the husband, but he was not in for it, and the Africana Woman/Wife had something to say about it too! Good for them! The main thing is that fidelity was rewarded, while lying, gossiping and cheating were shown to be very bad choices. The strong themes of marriage, family, fidelity and no divorce are highly applauded. I give many props to film pioneers Bishop T. D. Jakes and Tyler Perry along with Ted Baehr, Movie Guide, The Culture of Life Movement, the Marriage Commission and all the dedicated prayer warrior who are crying out to God according to 2 Chronicles 7:14 for being major influences in the culture shift. Of course, I give all the glory to God!

Supporting evidence that marriage, family and fidelity are good is available in some bookstores, but not so much in bookstores in African American neighborhoods. After the movie, we went to a bookstore in the same mall to find Hooked, Unhooked and Unprotected. These three books give the low down on sexuality and sexually transmitted diseases and other pertinent information. None of the books were available at the store, though they were available in the stores in the “white” neighborhoods. When the customer service agent at the store called to find out, we asked for the HIV/AIDS section. Would you believe that there was not one book on HIV/AIDS or any STD prevention books? But on the table in the recommended African American reading section, there were plenty of how to get hot sex tonight books. Really friends, it’s like the message is have as much sex as you can from wherever you can, then get AIDS and die. There is a concerted effort to keep Black people in the unenlightened state of purposeless living or more like intentional dying. Planned Parenthood has a lot of help in this climate.

One man saw us commenting and commiserated with us. He said his mother is a health professional, and she buys the same books we were looking for and gives them away for free. Good for her!

A hate crime is a hate crime by any other name

Once again, I ask, why can someone call Walter Hoye’s rescue attempts a hate crime, yet not speak out against the atrocities that happen against people who express their constitutional rights through religion, assembly and speech like this recent case with a Miss America contestant?

Sunday night the Miss USA pageant was held. Miss California was asked if she believed gay marriage should be the law of the land? The judge that posed the question was gay blogger Perez Hilton. She responded that she believed that marriage should be between a man and a woman. What is interesting is this is the same opinion that then candidate Barack Obama expressed on the campaign trail. She did not win and she contends her answer to the question cost her the crown. Hilton has since called her “stupid” on his video blog. The fact is Hilton probably gave her a low rating after her response, but that opens up another issue. On this kind of contest should the contestant be penalized for what they think or is this a beauty pageant? If the judges are not analyzing looks why are the contestants parading around in swimsuits? Are they being judged on poise when answering a question or is it content? The beauty of America is that opposing viewpoints are tolerated, but with every action there is a reaction. The beauty contestant had a right to speak her mind and Hilton had a right to vote his conscience.

Hey!I like your blog..I blog about the same thing this morning..to me it’s like she’s being bully for her honesty rather than applauded for answering a loaded question with honesty…again I am for equal rights for every one as well as freedom of speech…. I might not agree with her answer but I can also see that she was not trying to impose her beliefs on anyone she was just simply stating her opinion…It’s true she could have worded her answer a bit differently but all in all she shouldn’t be judge for her beliefs… After all, isn’t judging others beliefs causing all this “for” and “against” controversy in the first place?

Thanks for commenting. I still believe what makes America great is not only diversity of race, but diversity of viewpoints. She expressed her true feelings which is her right, and those that disagree with her also have rights, but is a beauty pageant the right venue for this discussion? Again thanks for commenting

I’m glad Miss CA spoke her mind and she was on GMA the next morning and regretted nothing. She stood for her beliefs and her God. Perez Hilton needs to quit, he berated her on his blog calling her a dumb B*@#$ and the nerve of him feigning pious outrage when he spews venom and defaces celebrity with disgusting drawings…We have too many people comprising these days as it is

Carrie Prejean is a sincere Christian. She answered a very controversial question from her heart. People criticize her saying she should have given a neutral answer but that is just another way of hiding the truth. She chose to answer truthfully knowing full well it would cost her the crown. That is extremely rare especially in today’s society of self-centered ambition. Her character speaks volumes about what it really means to be a Christian. Carrie Prejean is the real winner in this scenario.

Dr. Freda Bush says many are “Hooked”

In their new book, Dr. Freda Bush and Dr. Joe S. McIlhaney Jr. say that the human brain is so phenomanal that we are programmed for sex in such a way that if we we start early, and fall into lust rather than purposeful sex, the cycle is real. Please review the book.
This is scientific evidence of the soul ties that many teach about. There are good soul ties and bad soul ties. Our ties to our families, friends, communities that are life affirming and nurturing are not a problem, and in many instances are edifying. On the other hand, soul ties that lead into sin are not blessings! Please, read the book.

Dear President Obama

In reading Rusty’s letter to President Obama, I found some confirmation for what we are dealing with. Rusty did not however address the sin of racism, of denying that God made us of One Blood causing us to be one human race, not separate races (Acts 17) which is yet another reason that God placed President Obama in the White House as a sign that the days of skin color racism are numbered. As to the abominations of abortion and homosexuality, Rusty is accurate according to the Word of God. Yet America has many other sins as well, including greed and senseless war mongering. The Lord gave me a word too, that Daniel’s king didn’t serve Daniel’s God, and Daniel prayed. Esther’s kingly husband didn’t serve Esther’s God and Esther prayed. Joseph’s king didn’t serve Joseph’s God. In each instance, before it was all over and the victory was delivered to God’s people, each king had gained a great respect for GOD because of the faithful prayers of God’s chosen leaders for those times. Each leader was humble, repentant, and earnest in his or her seeking God for deliverance. They had much resistance from the cabinet administrators and financial backers of the kings of their day. Some things never “change.” President Obama supports things that are in direct opposition to the word of God, so we must pray, because President Obama belongs to God as we all do. When Christ returns, will he find us in faith or in something else? Thanks.

A friend wrote today: Just days ago Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas hand delivered this letter to the White House. It is a word I found helpful and perhaps it will be of be of benefit to you as well. It certainly gives us a Biblical perspective from which to support President Obama with our prayers and intercession (1 Timothy 2:1-3) He needs our prayer support perhaps like no other president in modern times.

Dear Honorable President Obama,

The Lord richly bless you! I know the chance of you personally reading this letter is slim, but I’m duty bound to write it nonetheless. God Almighty has seen fit to raise you up for such a time as this. It is not a coincidence, accident, or by chance that you have risen to be the leader of the free world. With this position, however, comes a great weight of responsibility as I’m sure you are realizing.

You came to this lofty vocation with a certain political agenda that does not entirely square with the revealed will, word, and way of the God of the Bible. For instance, your support of abortion and the homosexual agenda are just two glaring discrepancies. Regardless, God still placed you in 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. As it stands, His purpose is to use you as a sign and judgment against our nation that is gone a whoring after other gods and the vain philosophies of men. Whether that continues to be the case, rests entirely upon you.

Mr. President, there are two sins, which once they reach heaven will invoke the wrath of God upon any nation that dares to practice them. They are child sacrifice, the shedding of innocent blood (abortion) and homosexuality. Every nation that has allowed these abominations to run rampant was dispossessed by Almighty God. The classical judgments of the Lord are upon us. He is touching our ecology. We can blame “global warming” all day long, but this will not solve the frequency and intensity of the natural disasters that are striking us. He is touching our economy and draining our wealth. You may mean well with the “bailout,” but God has more woe, than you and the federal government have relief. War can also be a judgment from the Lord and left unchecked can lead to civil war. It cost America 630,000 lives to atone for the sin and crime of slavery. One can only imagine the cost of American lives to atone for the 50 million children we have slaughtered on the altar of choice.

There is a direct connection between the domestic terrorism we are committing in the womb and the foreign terrorism threatening us from without. God’s word warns, “Bloodshed touches bloodshed, it breaks out (Hosea 4:1, 2).” We have sowed bloodshed in the womb and we are reaping it in our streets, schools, workplaces, and churches. Death has become the solution to solve our economic and moral problems. God’s word affirms, “But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death (Proverbs 8:36).” America has proven that we will destroy marriage for sex, (adultery and “gay marriage”) kill for sex, (abortion) and we will die for sex, (HIV AIDS).

Biblically, homosexuality means the “burning out” of man. It is a sign that our civilization is burning the candle at both ends and is going the way of every other nation that dared parade their sin like Sodom in the face of a holy God. Historically, rampant homosexuality has been one of the social malignancies that have preceded the fall of nations (Greece, Rome, etc.)

Tragically, it is these constituencies that helped catapult you to power and thus you are deeply beholden to them. You have clearly pledged to implement their agenda.

Mr. President, whether or not you are willing to face the self-evident truth, there is a direct connection between our national sins, immoral state and the burden of debt crushing our nation’s future. Our nation is deluded to think that we can lie, steal, cheat, defraud, kill babies, promote homosexuality, spread pornography, destroy marriage and continue to live high on the hog. We imagine there is no connection between our moral and spiritual state and the litany of woe consuming our country. Americans act as if there is no God, no objective truth, no transcendent commandments, and no eternal accountability. Unfortunately, history will prove us wrong. How dreadfully wrong remains to be seen. Surely, our national pride jealousy guards our blindness and fuels our rebellion against heaven!

Mr. President, we can treat symptoms, but it will never bring the restoration of America’s greatness. America was great because America was good. America for far too long has ceased to be good and our greatness is fading.

God’s word states, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live (Deuteronomy 30:19).” Mr. President, if you move forward with promoting that which is invoking God’s wrath, America will continue its slide into perdition. If you muster the courage and humility to end abortion and the homosexual agenda, yes, it will raise the ire of those who placed you in the White House, but it will also bring God’s favor and blessing upon your administration.

Those who honor God, God will honor. You can continue to please men and offend the holiness of God or you can please God and offend men. The choice is yours, but please remember that abortion and homosexuality is choosing death and cursing for America, while choosing life and righteousness brings God’s blessing. What will you choose? Whatever I can do to assist you in making the right choice, I’m at your service.

Mr. President, you have come into the kingdom for such a times as this. The question that must be answered is it for America’s further demise or for America’s much needed recovery. It will be your policies that will determine the outcome. Therefore choose wisely.

On again, off again

Road trips can be worrisome and burdensome. One longs for the peace of home, and yet, sometimes coming home, the news can be so heavy that you long for the road again. Such was the case last weekend. Having been away for a while, I didn’t hear about the two beautiful families on their way home from Easter Church Service, only to be mown down by a reckless driver in a BMW. Many lost their lives, and the homicidal driver got away. Was the driver ill behind the wheel, were drugs and alcohol involved? There are no answers yet, but there are many grieving family members in the aftermath.

How can someone just kill someone and drive away? Perhaps the answer lies in the fact that murder is legal in America and other parts of the world. Babies and the sick without a voice are often killed in acts of abortion and euthanasia and protests go unheeded. We can turn our emotions on for the families killed in the car wrecks, and then turn them off from the cries of the babies as their life blood drains away. On again, off again. God help us!

Maya Angelou

A concerned pro-life advocate wrote this recently:
The poet Maya Angelou, who is a highly celebrated black poet who speaks for and to blacks worldwide, was interview by the BBC after the election of Obama. In the interview, which can be easily accessed, she described her feelings but more importantly she described at some length and in great detail and color what the American slave endured for 100s of years. At one point she spoke of how “even the fetus within the womb was the property of the slave owner.” The parallels she drew of the inhumanity of slavery upon the unborn is powerful. I am not even sure she is pro life or if she was aware of the parallel. In this short space I can not describe clearly how moving and how directly related to the pro life message her words were. I wish you would listen to this interview as I am absolutely sure we should respond to her words in order to draw attention to her celebrated status and urge her to communicate to president Obama.

Department of Homeland Security memo links pro-lifers to possible domestic terrorists

Friends, this bears giving attention to, especially number one.

Question? Why is being pro-life terroristic and hateful, while killing babies and maiming women through anti-procreative invasive proceedures which harm women isn’t?

If you read through 6 you’ll see that Texas is trying to claim sovereignty.

1) Department of Homeland Security memo links pro-lifers to possible domestic terrorists

An unclassified memo from the federal Department of Homeland Security to local law enforcement agencies warns of possible domestic terrorism from “rightwing extremists.” The memo defines “rightwing extremism” as consisting of groups or people who are either “hate-oriented” or “antigovernment” and “may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”

The memo states that the DHS “will be working with its state and local partners over the next several months to ascertain with greater regional specificity the rise in rightwing extremist activity in the United States….” DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, in response to the controversy generated by the memo, said Wednesday, “We are on the lookout for criminal and terrorist activity but we do not — nor will we ever — monitor ideology or political beliefs.”

2) Texas lawmakers ask for investigation of Planned Parenthood; may cut funding

Conservative members of the Texas House of Representatives held a press conference Tuesday calling for an investigation of Planned Parenthood for violations of state law. Texas requires all facilities that perform abortions to be licensed, but four unlicensed PP clinics in San Antonio were dispensing RU-486, claiming that the law only applied to surgical abortions.

The clinics say they are now in compliance with a state health department order to stop handing out RU-486, but the legislators want the state to probe further. The lawmakers also say they may move to cut the $10 million in state family planning funding PP receives annually when they begin debate on the state budget this Friday.

3) Oklahoma Senate passes sex selection abortion ban and new reporting requirements

The Oklahoma Senate voted 34-10 Wednesday to pass HB 1595, a bill that would ban sex selection abortions and would require abortionists to report a woman’s reason for her abortion, how the abortion was paid for, the number of the woman’s past pregnancies, births, and abortions, and the woman’s age. Because the House-passed bill was amended in the Senate, it now goes to a House/Senate conference committee, where representatives of the two bodies will work out a final version of the bill to be approved and sent to the governor.

4) Archbishop Dolan brings parishioners to their feet at installation

The New York Times reports that New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan, at his installation Wednesday, “brought [parishioners] to their feet when he declared with percussive rhythmic emphasis the church’s mission ‘to embrace and protect the dignity of every human person, the sanctity of human life, from the tiny baby in the womb, to the last moment of natural passing into eternal life.’”

5) New Notre Dame alumni group calls for Fr. Jenkins’ removal as president

The group, “Replace Jenkins – ND Alumni for Restoring the Catholic Tradition to Our Lady’s University,” has issued a policy statement and launched a website, www.replacejenkins.com/index.html.

6) Texas Representatives Introduce Resolution Asserting Sovereignty Under Tenth Amendment

Texas has joined the states’ right and Tenth Amendment movement by introducing House Concurrent Resolution No. 50, filed earlier this week by Republican state representatives Leo Berman, Brandon Creighton, and Bryan Hughes. H.C.R. 50 cites Section 4, Article IV, of the Constitution, the Tenth Amendment, and the Ninth Amendment.
“The Tenth Amendment assures that we, the people of the United States of America and each sovereign state in the Union of States, now have, and have always had, rights the federal government may not usurp,” the resolution declares, while “Section 4, Article IV, of the Constitution says, ‘The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,’ and the Ninth Amendment states that ‘The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.’”

Dear Friends,

As the king of late night comedy, Jay Leno has few living peers. He is watched and beloved by millions of American viewers, which makes it difficult to understand his support for an organization that seeks to shut down facilities that have as their sole purpose to give a home and guidance to young ladies who find themselves pregnant with nowhere else to go.

On April 29th Jay Leno and his wife are hosting a fundraiser for the Feminist Majority Foundation, a radical pro-abortion group that not only advocates for abortion on demand, but also for the closing of pro-life pregnancy centers.

This month the Feminist Majority Foundation sent an e-mail to its 400 campus affiliates planning a nationwide protest against facilities that dare to offer women alternatives to abortion and the support they need to choose life.

Please let NBC know that is unacceptable and that you will not watch any show that stars Jay Leno until he apologizes to the hundreds of thousands of people who have been helped by pregnancy care centers and the hundreds of thousands of people who staff those centers.
