The Original Baby Momma Drama by Jarvis Jones

Friday, April 29th, 2011

With the shape of the world today, we need more positive media and imagery that uplifts people and guides them into joyful living. Baby Momma Drama is that positive media we need more of. A story where faith, love and trust is put to the test.

The other day I blogged about President Obama, Madea and American Idol and the disservice we are doing to ourselves and, more importantly, to God. Although a catchy title, Baby Momma Drama takes a biblical perspective of life and adds to the quality of your life, not take away from it.

Playing April 29th and 30th, 2011 at 8:00 PM in Fayetteville, GA, treat yourself to something good. See promo.

Is The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Afraid of the Truth?

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

When Margaret Sanger award recipient, and Atlanta Journal-Constitution Columnist, Cynthia Tucker derided Dr. Johnny Hunter in her recent April 13th article, The Radiance Foundation responded. Despite much back and forth with the AJC Editor, he ultimately decided not to print our Op-Ed, nor our much reduced Letter to the Editor that he requested.

WE HAVE TO TAKE ON THESE “JOURNALISTS”. We must heighten our engagement of our local print media as well as those online and not allow them to go unchallenged.

Prayer To Close An Abortion Mill

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

Prayer is the answer to ending abortion in America and around the world. Please join us in saying this prayer to close an abortion mill in your neighborhood.

Father, all life is in Your care.

You have entrusted us to one another,

that we may show our brothers and sisters

the same love You have for us.

We pray, then, for the least among us,

the children in the womb.

Protect them from the violence of abortion.

We pray for those that are scheduled to die at (Name the abortion mill in your neighborhood).

Save them from death.

Give new hope to their parents,

that they may turn away from the desperate act of abortion.

Grant conversion to the abortionist and to the staff.

Show us how we are to respond to the bloodshed in our midst,

And lead us to the day when this place of death

Will be transformed into a haven of life.

Guard us with your joy and your peace,

For in You, life is victorious.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

What do President Obama, Madea and American Idol have in Common?

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

Three unlikely and seemingly unrelated and glaring impressions on the hearts and minds of the people. President Barack Obama, who when elected said to the 99.5% of African Americans, 43% of the general Caucasian population, the majority of Hispanic and Catholic voters who elected him: “Hold me accountable.” Tyler Perry aka Madea who said: “I’ll never stop doing Madea until people just get completely tired of it (Page 53).” American Idol contestants who often pray to God, “Lord, please make me the next American Idol.” What is wrong with this picture?

1. Have those who voted for President Obama held him accountable in a meaningful way? I don’t mean gripe sessions where you complain about what he hasn’t done for you. I mean have you written the White House and voiced your complaints about the President’s strong pro-abortion agenda? Have you asked about his mandate to the Justice Department not to defend marriage? Did he stop the war and bring the peace that you were hoping for praying for, and voting for? Does the President know your concerns? Are you holding him accountable? Links to more information on Priests for Life’s African American Outreach webstie: video, open letter and press statement. Also link to picture on webpage

2. Have you written to or contacted Tyler Perry about his Madea Movies? Have you noticed an almost “Amos and Andy” quality to his most recent movie, or did you just remain silent after you bought the ticket, saw the movie and came away disappointed?

3. In the Bible (Exodus 20:3-6), we are told to keep ourselves from idols. God is very clear about being a jealous God and hating idols. But have we written to American Idol and asked them to change the name of the show? Have we turned the dial in protest? Or are you still calling in your votes, while our young talented Americans keep praying to become idols?

If our responses to any of these questions find us lacking, then we are doing a great disservice, to our God, to ourselves, and yes, the President, Madea and American Idols. What do they have in common? They need our prayers, not our votes, not our money at the ticket box, they need our prayers.

An Easter Prayer for Life

Sunday, April 24th, 2011

Lord Jesus Christ,
You are the Author of Life,
Who died and now lives forevermore.

May we who work and pray
That children in the womb may be protected
Always draw strength, confidence, and joy
From Your victory over death,

For you are Lord forever and ever. Amen.

Baby Joseph Defies His Critics and Ours

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

Child, free from tubes and machines, is able to return home with family.

New York, NY — Baby Joseph Maraachli, the Canadian child whom Priests for Life brought to the United States for medical treatment, is going back home. His tracheotomy and subsequent medical care have made it possible for him to breathe on his own, without the assistance of machines. Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement:

“Our mission to save Baby Joseph and help his family was never based on any prediction of the future, but rather on the value of his life here and now. Our critics, on the other hand, looking into the crystal ball that ‘right to die’ advocates seem to always think they have, claimed our intervention was futile because Joseph would only end up having a machine do his breathing for him.

“We don’t have to answer their criticism; Joseph is doing that for us, with every breath he takes. He has gained benefit from his tracheotomy, is breathing on his own, and is going home to live with his parents, who will love and care for him for as much time as God gives them together.

“Baby Joseph’s victory over the culture of death is especially powerful now, as we prepare for Easter, a time when Christians everywhere celebrate Jesus’ victory over death.

“I want to commend the fine, caring staff at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center for their professional excellence and their faith. Likewise I want to thank the team at Kalitta MedFlight in Michigan, who donated the air ambulance and crew to fly Baby Joseph from Ontario to St. Louis last month, and who are flying him home today. Thanks also to the many groups and countless individuals who stepped forward, spoke up, donated, and helped to intervene for this child.

“Priests for Life is happy and humbled to have played a small part in making this joyous day possible. We ask everyone to join us as we continue to pray for Baby Joseph and his family.”

Priests for Life is covering Baby Joseph’s medical expenses, and has set up a fund for that purpose. Go to www.BabyJosephCentral.com to donate and to keep updated on related stories.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit, Giver of Life

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

Come Holy Spirit, Creator of all things…You who breathed over the waters at the dawn of creation and brought forth all living beings…You who filled the apostles when the Risen Lord breathed on them on the first Easter night, giving them the power to restore life to those dead in sin…You who, on the last day, will breathe again over all the dead and raise them from the grave–Come! Come and breathe on our world again, immersed as it is in the Culture of Death! Come, O Lord and Giver of Life! Defeat the works of death in our midst, that abortion may no longer stain our land.

We worship You, O Holy Spirit, and we rejoice in You. We know that no matter how strong the forces of death may be, we can still find in You the endless source of life. Renew that life in each of us, and make us worthy apostles of the Culture of Life in our day! Amen.

HE Came To Set The Captives Free!

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

People who are involved in the abortion industry often find themselves in a very dark place. Ask Abby Johnson, the former Planned Parenthood Director and author of “unPLANNED” who stepped into the light and started telling the truth. There are many accounts of abortionists, their staffs, post abortive women, boyfriends, parents, grandparents, politicians, who have suffered from spiritual bondage of darkness that prevents them from being able to see the truth but by the grace of God. I know about this firsthand.

Many times those who are suffering from spiritual darkness get dragged down the wrong path. This is true for many post abortive women who are in prison. Rhonda Arias from Oil of Joy Ministries once did some research that revealed that many of the women in prison who are post-abortive feel as though their abortions were a part of the scenarios that led them to prison.

Angela Stanton, in her book, “Life Beyond These Walls”, describes how, as a convicted felon, her choices let her to prison twice. Read her book to discover how sexual immorality can lead to darkness and bad choices. Angela is also post-abortive.

So what does God think of prisoners, those who are in what we call “jail”? Read here and find out.

We read in Luke 4:17-21, “And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written, “THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD.” (Emphasis added)

And JESUS closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him.

And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

God loves all people. In fact, in Mark 2:17 it says, And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

In the beginning I said that those in spiritual darkness cannot see the truth but by the grace of God. We need to pray for all those who have been deceived by evil into thinking that abortion is an answer to their problems. Jesus came for such as these and we are to imitate Jesus. Let us reflect on these thoughts as we await the anticipated Resurrection celebration.

Pro-Life Reflection For April 18, 2011

Monday, April 18th, 2011

An excerpt from “Pro-life Reflections for Every Day” by Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director, Priests for Life.

What is man that You are mindful of him, the son of man that You care for him? – Psalms 8:5

Reflection: A television movie had a scene in which two women were arguing. One said, “But you don’t get it, you don’t get it – you just killed someone.” And the other responded, “No, you don’t get it – I don’t care!”

Many abortion supporters know abortion kills children; they just don’t care.

Prayer: Lord, we ask for more than education and knowledge. We ask that You fill our world with hearts that care. May those who have forgotten how to care learn from our example.
