Please pray for Mama King’s Women’s Ministry

Thursday, August 9th, 2012

Titus 2:3-4 “But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.”

Every year, I am a guest speaker at a women’s conference sponsored by the First Lady of our church, Believers’ Bible Christian Church. Mrs. Anna McNair has been leading the women on a “Women’s Advance” each summer for 23 years. Along with this special time of ministry, “Mama King” also mentors young women regarding life and the grace of Jesus.

Sometimes, people call me a hypocrite saying that because I am a three time divorcee, and a post abortive mother, I don’t have anything to say to women today. Well, I do have a grateful and humble testimony about the love and forgiveness of God and the transforming power of the Blood of Jesus. How God anointed Alveda King, who has a testimony like the Woman at the Well and the Woman caught in the Act, how God anointed Mama King to tell the truth and shame the devil!

God has set me free, and now as a mother and a grandmother, I am teaching my children, the people God allows me to humbly mentor, and groups of women on how to love themselves, their husbands and children, and to love and obey God.

Along these lines, I will be ministering to a Women’s group in Manassas, VA this weekend at Reconciliation Community Church where Pastor John Peyton is Senior Pastor. Since I joined his pilgrimage to Israel as the guest of a mutual dear friend who is co-sponsor to the Israel mission ministry, Pastor John continues to be an inspiration in the prolife ministry and a force to be reckoned with!

Also, I met one of my Facebook friends, Jennifer Washington face to face. Her testimony is so powerful: She had an abortion and for many years was depressed and sad about her decision. She has been a friend on Facebook and had learned about Rachel’s Vineyard from my own experience. She said that I “have been so instrumental in my coming out from the darkness and speaking out about my testimony. I even attended a Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat because of your work. We are Rachael’s Vineyard “sisters” and she is a vessel of honor used by God to tell the truth and shame the devil.

Our mutual goal of leading souls to Christ and sharing God’s love by the power of the Holy Spirit is such a blessing.

Have a blessed weekend everyone!

(Titus 2:1-5 ESV)

Pray Harder! Run Harder!

Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

Friends,

My friend Rev. C. L. Bryant just released a new film, Runaway Slave. It’s playing for a limited engagement in theatres around the country. Please go see the movie and tell your friends about it. If it’s not playing near you, please talk to your local theatre and ask them to bring it to their theatre. Just like other movies like October Baby, Fireproof and Courageous were helped become successful films, we can do the same for Runaway Slave.

Here is what my friend Anita Crane said about the film.

Would blacks vote for a white Obama?
Former NAACP leader defies racial politics in new movie, ‘Runaway Slave’

If Barack Obama weren’t black, would most black voters really have reason to support him?

Rev. C.L. Bryant, a former chapter president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or NAACP, is boldly challenging whether the expanding government programs and progressive ideals espoused by Obama and his allies are actually helpful to black people or whether “the sons and daughters of former slaves traded one form of slavery for yet another.”

“Black people are very uninformed,” Bryant told WND, one of the key reasons he has made “Runaway Slave,” a powerful new movie blowing the lid off racial politics.

Bryant is a descendent of American slaves and Choctaw Indians. He’s also a Baptist minister who resigned from NAACP leadership when they required him to host an event directly violating the commandments of Christ. In Bryant’s film, leaving the NAACP was just one step on his journey away from the slavery of anger and one step towards the truth setting him free.

What, then, is the reaction of blacks who’ve seen “Runaway Slave”?

“Dear Mama King …”

Tuesday, August 7th, 2012

Friends, I hope you will write to “Mama King” and share your views about this blog.

Dear Readers, last Mother’s Day I blogged about how we feel about our mothers’ advice over the seasons of our lives:

How We Relate to “Mama” over the Years:

Age 6 – “Mommy, I love you.”
Age 10 – “Mom, whatever.”
Age 18 – “I can’t wait to leave this house.”
Age 25 – “Mom, you were right!”
Age 30 – “I wanna go to Mama’s house.”
Age 50 – “I don’t ever want to lose my Mom.”
Age 70 – “I would give up everything for my Mom to be here with me.”

I am no exception to the legend. I can remember feeling the same way about my mother over the years. Mother is still here on earth with us, and she is our treasure and our joy!

Having passed the golden silver age of 61, I have a badge of honor that is a blessing and treasure to bear. The title “Mama King” is no longer reserved solely for my womb fruit and their children. Now, as a post-abortive mother, a grandmother and a mentor to many young people, male and female; I am known all over the world as Mama King. So, today please allow me to share a message from the “Heart of Mama King.”

During the last few days, humanity has been overwhelmed by so many incidents that I shudder to remind us of even just a few. However, I’m going to ask you to bear with me as we look at just two tragedies that are a blight on the sanctity of human life.

First, the tragic slaughter of a young woman, Tonya Reaves in Chicago. She was butchered at a Planned Parenthood Clinic. Warning, the details are very graphic.

Then, there is the expose of the North Carolina abortionist who attempted to justify his profession of killing black babies by challenging the pro-life delegation at his door to “adopt the ugly black babies.”

Just what do these two stories have in common? What does either story have to do with the heart of a mother? Well, just consider this. Tonya was an African American mother of a young son, and pregnant with a new baby. She was also engaged to be married. Was her decision to abort a good “choice?” Let her killers tell you that they think so. Planned Parenthood promised Tonya a solution to her problems, and they killed her. Now, she is dead; a beautiful dead victim of the nefarious liars Planned Parenthood. Yes friends, Tonya and her dead baby are victims. For those who want to point the finger at Tonya and say that nobody made her go to Planned Parenthood, think again. Planned Parenthood is a master of false advertising, and Tonya fell into their trap.

I was once a victim of the lies of Planned Parenthood. They disperse death, sterility and infertility. Then they justify their poison pills, shots and blades by saying that they are providing “women’s rights.” What a travesty.

Then, as if Tonya’s tragedy were not enough, an abortionist in North Carolina told a pro-life prayer group that he was aborting babies to help give people tax breaks, and that if the pro-life community is so concerned about the ugly Black babies, they should adopt them.

People, talk about being angry and sin not! It took me a minute to remember that I am a Christian. I mean, I almost wanted to go after the man! He really needs help.

I would miss a perfect opportunity here if I didn’t point out that the way to help tax payers is to adopt a tax plan like the brilliant 9-9-9, which doesn’t have to abort babies to equalize the tax burdens of Americans.

Can you imagine how I as an African America mother feel when I hear someone call Black babies ugly. We are the human race, and all babies are beautiful, not matter what their ethnicity, social and economic standing, or state of physical well being happens to be.

Can you imagine how much it hurts to see a beautiful woman like Tonya Reaves cut down in the prime of her life? Remember how hurt I was about the murder of Trayvon Martin? I called him a late-late term abortion. And now we lose a young woman trying to get a late term abortion.

Finally, I want to mention how glad I am that Chick-fil-A and Rev. Bill Owens, Sr. are standing up for procreative marriage. We are dealing with a three headed monster in America; racism, abortion and anti-procreative marriage. All three fly in the face of God, denying that His precious One Human Race is designed to live together, love together and procreate together.

This is a rant, so it admittedly isn’t scholarly and highly intellectual. I hope and pray though that somewhere in all of this we can understand that we all need to be praying and repenting right now.

“If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

Too Controversial for Social Media: Priests for Life asks tough questions with new video

Tuesday, August 7th, 2012

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: August 7, 2012

Contact: Leslie Palma
347-286-7277

STATEN ISLAND, NY — In a new video too controversial for television, YouTube or Facebook, Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, compares candidates’ views on abortion with their views on terrorism.

The video includes graphic pictures of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in 2001 but the images that provoke far more reaction are those of babies killed by abortion.

“America will not end abortion until America sees abortion, and yet many hide from these images because they are too disturbing,” Father Pavone said. “But people should be disturbed. Abortion is not a medical procedure performed by caring physicians in modern hospitals. It is a brutal murder perpetrated by charlatans who operate assembly lines of death.”

The video asks viewers to consider whether they could ever vote for a candidate whose views they agree with but who also supports a terrorist’s “right” to kill innocent people, like the thousands of people who died in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania in the Sept. 11 attacks.

“A candidate might have a great plan to jumpstart the economy or create jobs, but could anyone really overlook his or her views on terrorism,” Father Pavone asked. “It’s the same thing with abortion: Can you really support a candidate who sanctions a barbaric act that claims more than 3,000 lives a day?”

The thought-provoking video can be seen at www.Unborn.info

“As you cast your vote on Election Day, please remember that at the core of every issue is the right to life,” Father Pavone said. “Deny the right to life, and you kill all the other issues too. We need public servants who know the difference between serving the public and killing the public.”

Priests for Life to Begin Assumption Novena Tomorrow

Monday, August 6th, 2012

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: August 6, 2012

Contact: Leslie Palma
347-286-7277

STATEN ISLAND, NY – Priests for Life invites all people of faith to join them tomorrow in beginning an Assumption Novena to pray for an end to abortion.

The novena will conclude on Aug. 15, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven.

“We will ask the Blessed Mother’s intercession as we pray for a speedy end to the ongoing holocaust of abortion,” said the Rev. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. “We will ask Mary to open the heart of every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy so that she can see beyond her fears and say ‘Yes’ just as Mary said ‘Yes.’ Moreover, the Assumption is all about the victory of life over death.”

The Novena prayer is as follows:

“Lord Jesus Christ,
You have conquered the power of death
And opened for humanity
The hope of eternal life in body and soul.

You granted your Mother
A share in heavenly glory,
And did not allow decay to touch her body.

As we rejoice in the Assumption of Mary,
Grant us new confidence in the victory of life over death,
And renewed reverence for the human body.

As we honor Mary, Assumed into Heaven,
May we proclaim the hope of Your Gospel:
That you want every human life seated on your throne.
May that hope strengthen us to protect every life here on earth.

You live and reign forever and ever. Amen.”

Father Pavone said prayer is something everyone can do to help bring about an end to abortion.

“The power of prayer is essential,” Father Pavone said. “We utilize that power throughout the year by means of novenas and seasonal pro-life prayers that can be found at www.PrayerCampaign.org. This is a great way for pastors to mobilize their congregations, and for families, pro-life groups, and schools to participate.”

Priests for Life, Father Pavone praised in Congress

Friday, August 3rd, 2012

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: August 2, 2012

Contact: Andre Kim
347-286-7277

STATEN ISLAND, NY – Priests for Life, its National Director and the many ministries under its pro-life umbrella were saluted in the United States House of Representatives on Aug. 1. Six members of Congress spent 35 minutes speaking from the floor of Congress about the work of Priests for Life. As it normally does, C-Span broadcast the proceedings live.

Minnesota Congresswomen Michele Bachmann led the accolades, noting that Priests for Life is concluding the celebration of its 20th anniversary.

New Jersey Congressman Chris Smith, leader of the congressional pro-life caucus, said that for two decades he has been “moved, inspired and motivated to defend the weakest and most vulnerable among us by the remarkable life and pro-life witness of Father Frank Pavone,” whom, Mr. Smith noted, not only works to save unborn babies, but reaches out to women suffering after an abortion and even to abortionists themselves.

“This good priest sees not just the abortionist and their enablers committing violence against women and babies, but what might be if we genuinely care about their souls.”

Mr. Smith also noted the work of Janet Morana, Priests for Life’s executive director, and the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, which she co-founded to give women and men who have lost children to abortion a platform to tell the truth about their pain and healing.

Also speaking on the House floor during the session were Rep. Jeff Fortenberry of Nebraska; Rep. Jean Schmidt of Ohio; Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas, and Rep. Tim Walberg of Michigan. Several others had indicated a desire to speak but there was not enough time in the 35 minutes allotted.

Mrs. Bachmann concluded the session with an explanation of the ministry:

“Priests for Life isn’t just for priests and it isn’t just for Catholics. The work of Priests for Life has enabled Americans of every walk of life, every ethnicity, every faith background, every political affiliation to awaken their consciences about the life issue, to speak up for the unborn… It’s very difficult to find any national initiative to the pro-life movement that either Father Frank Pavone or Priests for Life are somehow not deeply involved in.”

Mrs. Bachmann, noting her own commitment to pro-life work, said she is “extremely proud” to be affiliated with Priests for Life and Father Pavone. ‘I wish to thank Priests for Life for everything they continue to do protect and defend the sanctity of every human life.”

Do Not Worry

Friday, August 3rd, 2012

This weekend let’s take some time to reflect on God’s goodness. Let’s put worldly concerns aside for a moment and concentrate on the fact that all we truly need in this world comes from God.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. – Matthew 6:25-34

All Abortion Risks Must Be Disclosed, Appeals Court Rules

Thursday, August 2nd, 2012

Argument to Invert Traditional Medical Standards Rejected

Springfield, IL (July 26, 2012) — A U.S. Court of Appeals has ruled that abortion providers can be required to disclose risks associated with abortion, even if the attending doctor believes the associated risk is only incidental to the abortion and not a direct result of it.

At issue was a South Dakota statute requiring abortionists to disclose to patients that women who have abortions are “at increased risk for suicide ideation and suicide.” This provision was challenged by Planned Parenthood, which argued that such a disclosure was untrue and misleading in the absence of irrefutable evidence that abortion is the direct cause of suicidal behavior.

Planned Parenthood admitted that numerous studies show a statistical association between abortion and suicide. For example, an eight-year study of the entire population of women in Finland found that the risk of suicide among women who aborted was six times higher in the following year than that of women who had given birth and three times higher than that of women who had not been pregnant.

But Planned Parenthood’s experts argued that such statistical associations did not prove a direct causal link between abortion and suicide. They argued that the higher rate of suicides might be due to prior psychological issues that predispose women who were already suicidal to have more abortions. If that were true, the observed statistical association would be incidental, not causal.

In an en banc ruling — a ruling from the entire bench instead of a panel of judges — the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected Planned Parenthood’s argument in an 8-4 decision, observing that “[i]t is a typical medical practice to inform patients of statistically significant risks that have been associated with a procedure through medical research, even if causation has not been proved definitively.”

Black Pro-life Coalition Calls for Planned Parenthood Accountability in Chicago Death

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

Contact: Walter B. Hoye II, National Black Pro-life Coalition, 510-225-4055 ext 4

UNION CITY, Calif., Aug. 1, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ — Abortion, the most unregulated surgical procedure in the nation, has left a trail of dead women and over 54 million babies in its wake where, disproportionately, thirty five percent of those dead babies are Black.

Planned Parenthood has long maintained abortion is a safe option for women. They keep pictures of coat hangers before the public, assuring America that keeping abortion legal will protect women from harm. Yet, in 1972, Planned Parenthood funneled money to psychologist Harvey Karman who worked with (recently indicted Philadelphia “House of Horrors” abortionist) Kermit Gosnell to implement a “super-coil” abortion method on 15 black pregnant women. These low-income women, all in their second trimester, were bussed from Chicago to Philadelphia for this “safe” procedure. Nine of these women were seriously harmed during the violent experiment, including one who had to have a hysterectomy.

Today, just like then, women’s lives and health are never the concern of Planned Parenthood and other abortionists. Ryan Bomberger, Chief Creative Officer of The Radiance Foundation believes: “Pro-abortion activists like to call abortion ‘reproductive justice,’ but we can only call this reproductive death. In the inverted and violent world of pro-abortion activism, ‘justice’ inflicts harm upon the weaker and the defenseless — the unborn.”

Stephen Broden, Senior Pastor of Fair Park Bible Fellowship believes: “The recent death of Tonya Reaves in Chicago is only one example of the tragic havoc Planned Parenthood has wreaked across America. They are a threat to our women, children and ultimately our survival. Their influence and presence must be removed from our community.”

Pro-abortion journalists claim conservatives are making this political. Catherine Davis, Founder and President of the Restoration Project, finds the accusation repugnant: “The tragedy in Chicago should never have happened. That facility was not medically equipped to handle a surgical late term abortion. This is about the failure of an organization that holds itself out as a champion of women, and women’s issues to champion reasonable medical standards.”

“At a minimum, Planned Parenthood was criminally negligent when they left Tonya bleeding in their facility for more than five hours. Planned Parenthood’s lack of action demonstrates a depraved indifference for the life of this young woman. Planned Parenthood must be held accountable for the death of Tonya Reaves,” said Walter Hoye of the Issues4Life Foundation, the California Civil Rights Foundation and the Frederick Douglass Foundation of California.

Rev. Arnold Culbreath, Director of Urban Outreach for Protecting Black Life agrees. “Surely the African-American community will wake up and stop giving Planned Parenthood a pass. Too many of our women and children have been butchered at their hands,” he said.

“We pray this tragedy awakens the collective conscience of Black America to a wretched and unregulated industry that is profiting from the deaths of children and the deliberate mis-education of young women,” said Dean Nelson, Chairman of the Frederick Douglass Foundation.

“We still believe that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,” said Alveda King, Founder of King for America. “We demand the unjust targeting of the black community by abortionists be investigated and immediately ended.”

A Word to “Pro-Choice” lawmakers: The Voters are Watching

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: August 1, 2012

347-286-7277

STATEN ISLAND, NY – Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement regarding Tuesday’s House vote on the D.C. Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, H.R. 3803, which called for a ban on abortions after 20 weeks in the District of Columbia.

“As he led the debate against the D.C. Pain Capable Unborn Child Act last evening, Rep. John Conyers warned his pro-abortion colleagues that Planned Parenthood and NARAL would be scoring the vote.

“The act did not garner the necessary two-thirds vote to pass, but I would like to issue a warning of my own to those who opposed the bill: The American people will be keeping score as well, and they will remember in the voting booth the politicians who are so afraid of the powerful abortion lobby that they voted down an effort to save fully formed babies from the unimaginable pain of being torn limb from limb.

“An overwhelming majority of Americans are against late-term abortion and they will demand that their lawmakers have the integrity to represent them, rather than bowing to Planned Parenthood and NARAL.”
