National Education Association Pro-Abortion Stance Is Deadly For Students

Tuesday, June 18th, 2013
Student's First Teacher

Student’s First Teacher

You would think that an organization whose mission is “to advocate for education professionals and to unite our members and the nation to fulfill the promise of public education to prepare every student to succeed in a diverse and interdependent world” would want success for every person, including the unborn because, after all, they too will be students one day. In fact, they are students as they begin learning the voice of their caretakers from inside the mother’s womb.

As Jaclyn Stewart points out in an article, “Studies show that even in the womb, your baby is listening. If you talk to your baby frequently during your pregnancy, or even just talk a lot in general, your baby will be able to recognize the sound of your voice when he[/she] his born. This is an important first step in the learning process

It is admirable for an organization to provide a “public education to prepare every student to succeed” only if it applies to ALL students.

Georgia Right to Life, in cooperation with other pro-life groups, is organizing a protest at this year’s NEA Convention in Atlanta, GA at the Georgia World Congress Center on July 1, 2013 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. The NEA Convention is June 26-July 6, 2013 with some 16,000 members expected to attend. Your help and participation is needed to show support for the youngest of students, the student learning from what should be the safest schools of all, free from violence; free from discrimination; a smoke free environment; and provided with healthy meals.

Georgia Right to Life points out on their website that,

Lurking beneath this admirable mission, however, lays a deceptive family planning resolution, as follows:

“The National Education Association supports family planning, including the right to reproductive freedom.
The Association urges the government to give high priority to making available all methods of family planning to women and men unable to take advantage of private facilities.
The Association also urges the implementation of community-operated, school-based family planning clinics that will provide intensive counseling by trained personnel.”

At the 1998 NEA Assembly in New Orleans, LA, a first time delegate asked the following 3-part question (from the resolution above) at the microphone:

• Through the words “reproductive freedom” in our Resolutions document, does the NEA support the choice to abort after the first trimester?

Response from the chair: Yes.

• Through the words “reproductive freedom” in our Resolutions document, does the NEA support a woman’s choice to abort after viability?

Response from the chair: Yes.

• Through the words “reproductive freedom” in our Resolutions document, does the NEA support the decision to abort up to, and including delivery, commonly termed by the media a “partial birth abortion?”

Response from the chair: We have NO limitations.

According to their website, their vision is a great public school for every student offering equal opportunity. By equal opportunity they “believe public education is the gateway to opportunity. All students have the human and civil right to a quality public education that develops their potential, independence, and character.” [Emphasis added]

The NEA espouses great sounding rhetoric like “We believe public education is vital to building respect for the worth, dignity, and equality of every individual in our diverse society” while with the other hand committing $60 million for President Obama’s re-election campaign in 2012, the most pro-abortion president in America’s history.

If you live in Atlanta and you believe that ALL students, born and unborn, deserve a quality education, public or private, show your support by coming out to the Georgia World Congress Center July 1 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Stand with other like minded teachers, students, mothers, fathers, clergy, and other pro-lifers to demand that the NEA remain neutral on the issue of abortion. If you can’t come for the full four hours, come when you can. If you can’t come or you don’t live in Atlanta, please spend some time praying for those that will show up and for the NEA, that they will stand for life in addition to education of our children.

Alveda King: Let Babies and Mothers Off Abortion Bus

Monday, June 17th, 2013

pph bus

The War on Babies being waged by the abortion industry and its puppets in Congress sank to new depths last week.

Let’s be clear.

Congressman Trent Franks is trying to save babies’ lives – lives like the late term babies that convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell joked about when he said they “could walk to the bus stop.” Rather than have these babies decapitated and stuffed into juice containers by abortionists such as Gosnell, Congressman Franks would have them live. For this he is being viciously attacked.

Congressman Franks stated that the incidence of rape resulting in pregnancies that are aborted in the sixth month of pregnancy or later is “very low.” How is this even controversial?

We know from studies on the subject that rape results in pregnancy from about 1% to 5% of the time, depending on authors of the studies. According to one study citing the 5% stats, half of those pregnancies are aborted. We don’t know what portion of those 2.5% of rapes result in abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy or later, but government statistics tell us that 1.4% of all abortions occur in the 21st week or later.

So, is it outrageous to suggest that 1.4% of 2.5% (0.035%) is a very low amount?

By the way, as a repentant and healed post abortive mother, I encourage Congress to save as many mothers and babies from abortion as possible; because mothers and babies do die from abortions. Babies and sometimes mothers die painful abortion deaths at twenty weeks which is five months. I say save all the babies and their mothers; mothers like Tonya Reaves, Jennifer Morbelli, and Karnamaya Mongar. These three women and their babies died from painful late term abortions.

Again, let’s be clear. All abortions are bad and painful to someone’s body, soul or spirit. Where do we begin to make things better? Congressman Franks and his colleagues are on the right track. Where do we go from here?

The answer is obvious – unless you think it’s OK to keep dismembering babies in the womb that, if delivered, look like they “could walk to the bus stop.”

People, it’s time to let the babies and their mothers off the abortion bus.

Fr. Pavone: #Gosnell Babies Are Not Unclaimed, Deserve Burial

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: June 14, 2013

Contact:  Leslie Palma

ROME — Speaking from Rome, where he will be concelebrating Mass this weekend with Pope Francis for the Day of Life, Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, responded to the news from the Philadelphia Medical Examiner that the bodies of the Gosnell babies will be cremated and then buried in the same way that they treat any unclaimed bodies.

“There is no need for the Medical Examiner to have some hidden, secret burial as if we are to be ashamed of these babies. These babies are not unclaimed,” Fr. Pavone declared, “They are claimed and have been named by us, because they are our brothers and sisters. We will therefore have a national funeral service for these babies, even without the bodies. We will involve the entire pro-life movement and all people of good will, and more information will be announced shortly. Moreover, we want to know exactly where the remains of these children will be placed.”

Priests for Life is the nation’s largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia. For more information, visit www.priestsforlife.org.

Happy Fathers’s Day Part Three: Abba Father

Friday, June 14th, 2013

adam

In approaching the Creator of the universe, our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us this:
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13 KJV)

Brian Fisher writes in a Fox News op-ed, “As we approach Father’s Day once again, more and more men are realizing the impact abortion has not only had on women, but also on themselves. And the impact is anything but positive.” He says of men who have encouraged or facilitated abortions to avoid raising a child, “In our heart of hearts, we are coming to grips with what we’re doing. We are willfully taking the lives of those we are wired to protect.”
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/06/13/abortion-and-fatherhood-man-take/

In his book REDEEMING A FATHER’S HEART, Kevin Burke ministers to fathers who have aborted children. Let the healing begin for hurting dads.

Finally, Psalm 127 teaches us that “children are a gift from God.” Parents are a gift from God too; remember we were once human children; and by grace we can all become Children of God through Jesus Christ.

So today and always let’s honor our Heavenly Father and thank God for Fathers’ Day. And in some small way, let us honor our human fathers every day.

Happy Fathers’ Day Part Two: Daddy’s Pearls

Thursday, June 13th, 2013

130613 blog image

When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it! Matthew 13:46 NLT

130613 blog image 2When I was sixteen years old, my daddy, Rev. Alfred Daniel Williams King, Sr. gave me a sweet sixteen birthday party. He also gave me my very first and most beautiful set of pearl jewelry. They were set as dangling earrings and a necklace. I’m wearing the necklace in a photo taken over a quarter of a century ago.

Daddy was truly my hero. Was he perfect? No, of course not. He fought against temptations of the flesh like any man. Remember David was after God’s own heart, yet he killed Uriah the Hittite. Noah drank too much wine. Moses was the most meek and humble man in history, yet he never quite mastered his temper. My father was such a man, a man after God’s own heart, a man of faith and bold enough to build in the face of mockery of the people.

Daddy once took his youth ministry to Pensacola, Florida for a summer youth retreat. I was so happy to be included. It was my first time to see and play in the ocean. Daddy was a championship swimmer in college, having awards aplenty. When he married Mama and the children were born, he insisted that we all learn to swim. I was more of a dog paddler than a real swimmer, but I could stay afloat and had no fear of water.

The sound and sight of God’s powerful waves crashing upon the shore was just awesome to me. I remember Daddy’s rich baritone voice ringing with laughter as I bounded about in the water. I even grew to be so bold as to dash out into a huge wave and get washed away from the shore. With Daddy behind me and the looming ocean out beyond me, I remember yelling “Daddy” as the wave washed me away.

Instantly, at my cry for help, Daddy dove into the water and came cutting through the ripples to my side. I remember that Daddy had taught us so many times that Jesus, the living Son and Word of God calmed the waves with His command: “Peace be still.” I remembered that Daddy taught us that Jesus walked on the water. When I felt Daddy’s strong arms around me, pulling me out of the now menacing waves, I likely wondered if Jesus would come walking right up beside us.

Daddy’s gift of pearls to me included the knowledge of the Pearl of Great Price, which is The Kingdom of Heaven presented to us in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is the greatest gift a Father can give a child, the gift of natural life fortified with the Gospel of Life.

Today, in the midst of immigration battles, tax battles, social and moral battles, I can only encourage us to remember our best and greatest father, GOD. I honor God on Fathers’ Day because He is GOD and GOD alone. Through the years, God has given me some wonderful “father figures” to guide my understanding, and I am grateful.

God gives us many blessings in life. Among the countless blessings experienced in my now 62 years of life on earth are the lessons learned from my four favorite mentors. Three of them are elders from my bloodline, and from them I learned to receive God’s miracles, to have a compassionate heart and that love never fails.

My father, Rev. Alfred Daniel Williams King, I (A. D.) taught me to believe in and later to experience the miracles of God. When I was a little girl, I would sit in the pews of churches where Daddy preached and listen to his sermons on the miracles of Jesus. When Daddy preached, I actually believed that Jesus walked on the water, turned the water to wine, rebuked the winds and the waves, multiplied the fish and the loaves and healed the sick and raised the dead.

When Granddaddy (Dr. Martin Luther King, Senior) preached about how we have to have “faith, hope and love,” and the compassion of God, for the prisoners, for the sick, for the elderly, for the widows and for the children, my heart went out to “the least of these.”

When Uncle M. L. (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) preached about the love of God, my heart learned to know God as my loving father. Most people know that Uncle M. L. was a famous civil rights leader, but my best memories of him are as a loving family man and preacher.

My daddy and uncle in the nineteen sixties went to Heaven when they were both killed in the 20th Century Civil Rights Movement. Granddaddy lived to see his “first three great-grandchildren,” my first three children born alive. He went to Heaven in the mid-nineteen eighties; just about two years after I was “born again” in 1983.Daddy never saw one of his grandchildren. I try and help them to know Daddy through my memories.

I miss them all so very much. They were my family, my protectors, my heroes, my mentors and my first Bible teachers.

God in His infinite wisdom has given me two more mentors, Pastor Theo Allen McNair, Senior Pastor of Believers’ Bible Christian Church in Atlanta, GA. He has been my Pastor and mentor for almost 25 years. It is to him that I gave my first symbolic cup to a prophet. And then there is Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for life. I can’t tell you how much he has helped me to understand that God’s gifts to us can increase when we stand for the Gospel of Life.

As I close, I’d like to encourage everyone to also remember those fathers whose lives have been touched by the abortion of their seed. God wants to heal all the fathers of the world. I’d like to share a blog message from Kevin Burke about this.

Let the healing begin!

Happy Fathers’ Day, Part One

King Collage

“Children are a gift from God.” Psalm 127

As first in a series of three “Fathers’ Day Blogs,” I am blessed to pay tribute to my Grandfather, Dr. Martin Luther King, Sr. who saw me in a dream three years before I was born. That prophetic dream gave me life, against the odds of a threat of abortion.

I also thank God for my Prolife Father Rev. Alfred Daniel Williams King, Sr. and my Prolife uncle Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. You can read more about them in my book, How Can the Dream Survive If We Murder the Children? or in my testimony at my website.

I am very mindful of the thousands if not millions of fathers who wanted to overcome the abortion of their babies, the onslaught against their seed, but were powerless to do so.

Then there are the fathers who agreed to or even urged that their babies be aborted; sadly some fathers even went further and coerced or perpetrated abortions. Many now regret that “choice.”

In a new blog, Kevin Burkes examines the intricacies of A FATHERS’ HEART. Read his blog HERE.

Fathers and Mothers play a vital role in the lives if their children. We give due justice in celebrating Mothers’ Day. We should do the same for Fathers. As we approach the holiday, let us pray for all fathers, that God will bless and help them to fulfill HIS will for their lives and for their children.

Nibbling Sweet Grass: Planned Parenthood’s Poison Candy

Tuesday, June 11th, 2013

130611 blog image

Organizations like the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the Peoples’ Agenda, Girl Scouts, possibly the Boy Scouts and now the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), and individuals like Rev. Al Sharpton, Rev. Jesse Jackson, and the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) are taking gifts, donations, and incentives from Planned Parenthood and other anti-life and anti-natural family organizations.

My grandfather Dr. Martin Luther King used to call this form of wandering from truth “nibbling sweet grass” with a little sheep wandering from his pasture into the temptations offered across the fence. The little sheep started nibbling a little bit until he swallowed the whole lot and caboodle and ended up with a noose around his neck.

This is what’s happening to people who take money from PPH. The organizations that want to promote sexual promiscuity, immorality, abortions, and non-procreative marital unions are following Margaret Sanger’s lead when she said that the undesirable people are like human weeds, she counted in that category the very poor, the African Americans and the disabled. The survival of the fittest was her premise. She said that to weed out the population you use an educational approach and you cultivate spokespersons from those communities, the African American community for example.

With the help of these organization and individuals, Margaret Sanger’s eugenics plan of exterminating the Black community is coming to fruition. First, it was birth control and The Birth Control League and now it’s abortion and Planned Parenthood.

That’s what’s going on now with the black journalists. A lot of their advertising money for their organization comes from Planned Parenthood. And to make matters worse, a large portion of the money that they spread around is our tax dollars given to them by our government.

By the way, my uncle Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. didn’t drink the Kool-Aid, he was pro-life. Let’s help our organization get back on the pro-life track too!

Matt Birk: Standing Up For Righteousness

Monday, June 10th, 2013

Matt Birk

As we approach the Fathers’ Day weekend, let’s take note of a valiant stand that Matt Birk, retired Ravens center has taken for life. Some people succumb to public pressure; some give in to peer pressure; some compromise their principle for fame and fortune; while others will sell their morals for 30 silver pieces.

And then there are those that will stand for righteousness no matter the cost.

And so it is for Matt Birk.

This past Thursday Mr. Birk explained during an interview on Minnesota’s KFAN radio why he declined an invitation to the White House.

As reported by Marc Weinreich of Sports Illustrated, Birk said,”

“I wasn’t there. I would say this, I would say that I have great respect for the office of the Presidency but about five or six weeks ago, our president made a comment in a speech and he said, ‘God bless Planned Parenthood.”

Planned Parenthood performs about 330,000 abortions a year. I am Catholic, I am active in the Pro-Life movement and I just felt like I couldn’t deal with that. I couldn’t endorse that in any way..I’m very confused by [the President’s] statement. For God to bless a place where they’re ending 330,000 lives a year” I just chose not to attend.”

I commend Mr. Birk for his courage to stand up for his principles. The world needs more Birks who stand for godly values and principles.

I believe that men and women of conscience should take note of Mr. Birk’s position and join him in public expression of why we should stand for life. Again, since Fathers’ Day is just around the corner, perhaps you would like to share his testimony with the fathers you know, and also recommend Kevin Burke’s book, REDEEMING A FATHER’S HEART.

Priests for Life

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: June 10, 2013

Contact: Leslie Palma
347-286-7277

STATEN ISLAND, NY – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, the Church’s largest pro-life ministry, announced today the beginning of the “Gospel of Life Pilgrimage” to Rome.

“For many months, Priests for Life has been announcing and preparing for the special Day of Life which is an official part of the Catholic Church’s Year of Faith. The Church wants to make it clear that to defend, welcome and nurture the gift of human life is integral to the faith. To say ‘Yes’ to Jesus Christ is to say ‘Yes’ to life,” Fr. Pavone explained.

On Saturday, June 15, there will be several educational seminars and prayer events sponsored by the Vatican, and on Sunday, June 16, a Mass with Pope Francis in Saint Peter’s Square. The pilgrimage Priests for Life has organized has a full capacity number of 150 people who travel to Rome tonight and will have Masses, tours, and talks with Fr. Frank Pavone, Janet Morana, Teresa Tomeo, and Steve and Janet Ray in the days prior to the Vatican events.

“As faithful from around the world gather with the Pope this weekend, one of our key prayer intentions will be for the healing of all mothers and fathers who have been wounded by abortion,” said Janet Morana, who co-founded the Silent No More Awareness Campaign. “The Gospel of Life is the Gospel of Mercy.”

“I hope all of our Catholic Radio Family will follow us on Ave Maria and EWTN radio, as we report on the events as well as pro-life efforts and issues around the world that will be discussed at the conference,” Teresa Tomeo said.

During the pilgrimage, people will be able to see daily updates and commentary at GospelOfLifePilgrimage.com and hear Ms. Tomeo’s radio updates. Priests for Life encourages families, groups, and parishes to join in prayer with the Holy Father and all those who will be gathered in Rome this coming weekend, that the gift of human life may be ever more respected and protected. Suggested prayers and activities can be found at GospelOfLifePilgrimage.com.

Request for Compassionate Burial for Gosnell Babies

Friday, June 7th, 2013

Affirmation of Life

When Father Frank Pavone spoke with the officials regarding providing a compassionate burial for the 45 bodies of babies aborted at Kermit Gosnell’s House of Horrors, the world was listening. All across America, reports of support and agreement for Father Frank’s request are resonating.

My radio co-host Emmanuel Boose called me during the sentencing and said that “we should give these babies a proper burial.” When I told him what Priests for Life is doing to help make that happen, he immediately marshaled an alert to the communities in agreement.

This week, I spoke with Congressman Trent Franks, author of PreNDA legislation and the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. He too has great compassion for all babies, born and preborn, as is evidenced in his bold and courageous to advance legislation that promises to protect babies and their mothers.

Please join us by contacting your congressional leaders and ask them to urge the officials in Philadelphia to release the bodies for burial. During the trial, the prosecutor pointed out that even miscarried babies are given the dignity of burial. The aborted victims deserve the same compassion.
