For decades, the liberal camp has stirred up the emotions of the African American Community with reminders of our victimization from first slavery and then segregation and racism. Yet, in the midst of all our oppression, we have always managed to rise to the surface, and even ascend to the peaks of promise, stepping over the boulders of despair that would try to hold us back.

My grandfather, Dr. Martin Luther King, Sr. often quoted his mentor Dr. Benjamin E. Mays. During his lifetime, Dr. Mays was President of Morehouse College in Atlanta. Many of the men of our family, including Daddy AD King and Uncle ML King, like Granddaddy, are “Morehouse Men.”

Dr. Mays would say: “No one can ride your back unless it is bent.” Granddaddy always taught us to “stand up straight and walk tall because God is on our side.”

When I hear Mrs. Senator Hillary Clinton or Mrs. Michelle Obama, or Al Sharpton, or other leading speakers stir up memories of racial unrest and oppression, even when they are pointing out the obvious current racial overtones and undertones that Blacks in America are still facing, I don’t hear hope. They don’t offer solutions, only more anger, pain and despair.

As a survivor of the 20th Century Race Wars, my back remains unbent, and I move forward for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all who were created equal in God’s eyes.

In my book KING RULES, I write about the “Beloved Community” our legacy embraces. I write about Acts 17:26, where we discover that the human race is born of “one blood.” So we are not even “separate races.” This reminds us that what Uncle ML said is true: “We must all learn to live together as brothers [and sisters] or perish as fools.”

Please, someone, remind speakers like Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Clinton that the answer to racial strife and confusion, in fact to all human issues, will always be love and nonviolent conflict resolution.

Kitchen table issues affect the rich and the poor alike. How will we feed our families, how will we educate our children, how will we manage successful career strategies, how will we improve our quality of life? It doesn’t matter how much we are able to pay for these benefits. The American Dream is that everyone will have some form of satisfaction, free from fear of danger, poverty and harm.

We still have a dream, The American Dream.

Priests for Life: Let’s all admit abortion decline is a good thing!

NEW YORK — Father Frank Pavone and members of the Pastoral Team of Priests for Life, one of the nation’s largest and most visible pro-life groups, commented today about the Associated Press report showing that abortions have declined 12 percent since 2010.

“Whenever a report about a decrease in abortions is issued, both sides of the abortion debate rush to give explanations and take credit,” Fr. Pavone said. “It’s important to realize, first of all, that the factors accounting for this are multiple, complex, and often hard to measure. But a few things are clear to us, including that the primary reason well may be the abortion industry itself. As the most unregulated surgical industry in America, specializing in activity that bears a stigma that it cannot seem to shake, this industry has been imploding for years. Its advocates have run out of arguments, and cannot even bring themselves to describe the procedure they support. Its clinics have increasing difficulty recruiting physicians, and have been closing in record numbers.

“Moreover,” Fr. Pavone asserted, “we on the pro-life side see and touch on a daily basis the lives that we are privileged to save. Reduction in abortion isn’t simply revealed in abstract statistics, but in living babies who know how to get our attention.”

“Youth are making a difference,” said Bryan Kemper, President of Stand True, the youth outreach of Priests for Life. “Abortions continue to decline as this generation is not just more pro-life but increasingly active in the pro-life movement. Young people are rejecting the lie that pro-life is a war on women and realizing that the actual war on women is abortion. Youth activism is erupting around the world and I know this is the generation that will abolish abortion.”

Janet Morana, executive director of Priests for Life and co-founder of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, noted that abortion advocates are encouraging more women to speak publicly about their abortions. But that particular approach helps the pro-life side more than the other side.

“The women of Silent No More have been speaking out about their abortions for more than a decade,” Mrs. Morana said. “Now that pro-abortion women are speaking out too, people are noticing a curious thing: The stories are remarkably similar. For so many women on both sides of the debate there is lingering physical and psychological damage, on top of regret and heartbreak. Women are listening, and they are choosing life.”

Dr. Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King, Jr. and full-time Director of African-American Outreach for Priests for Life, said, “Minority communities have long been targeted by abortion profiteers but we have begun to fight back. We are working towards the day, and I believe it will come soon, when it will no longer be true that the most dangerous place for an African-American baby is in the womb.”

Fr. Pavone concluded, “Each day I see the dedicated work of the Priests for Life team, and its many supporters around the nation, in changing attitudes towards abortion, passing laws, and counseling parents to choose life. It works. Above and beyond any arguments about who should take the most credit for the decline in abortions, let’s start by hearing some consensus across the battle lines of the abortion debate that any decline in abortions is a good thing, and that the decline should accelerate!”

Okay Cecile, Name a Time and a Place and Let’s Talk About Abortion

Friday, June 5th, 2015

Recently, in a Time article, Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said that America needs to talk – really talk – about abortion.

Yes, it’s a conversation that’s long overdue; over 56.9 million dead babies overdue, a third of them being Black babies. But let’s have that talk on a level playing field.

When we talk, let’s put euphemisms aside and let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. Let’s be truthful with the public. Let’s be clear from the onset – we’re talking about ABORTION. Not reproductive rights. Not healthcare or access to healthcare. Not a woman’s right to do what she wants with her body because the baby is not her body.

Many pro-life leaders have challenged Cecile Richards to have this conversation several years ago but We’ve never received a response.

Now that it’s her idea to “really talk” about abortion we pray that she won’t shy away from REALLY talking about abortion.

Abortion, although legal, is certainly not safe as they would have you think. This is evident by the hundreds of women who have died from abortion with report after report of ambulances being called to abortion ‘clinics’ to transport patients to hospitals after botched abortions.

Along with physical harm there’s psychological harm done by abortion as evident by the women and men of Silent No More Awareness Campaign; we speak openly of the harm of abortion on our lives.

In the past, any discussion over abortion has been heavily slanted in favor of the pro-abortion lobby. The abortion industry has millions of dollars to funnel into the media machine in order to spread their propaganda. Much of those millions is tax-payer dollars. Mainstream media is often happy to help push the abortion agenda; hiding the truth from the general public.

Like so many other propagandists Ms. Richards says, “Let’s talk about abortion,” but then is nowhere to be found when we say, “Okay, let’s talk.”

Let’s talk about what an abortion procedure is. Let’s talk about why you don’t want parents notified when children want to have an abortion. Let’s talk about the annual over half a billion dollars you receive in tax-payer money from our government. Let’s talk about who you target for abortion. Let’s talk about the many Kermit Gosnell abortionists that are performing abortions in cities all across America.

Let’s REALLY talk about abortion. When and where would you like to meet?
