NEW YORK – Evangelist Alveda King, a plaintiff in the Supreme Court case Priests for Life vs. HHS, has called on African-American clergy to stand with her in this crucial battle for religious liberty.

Evangelist King is the director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, the African-American Outreach of Priests for Life. Priests for Life, along with its National Director, Father Frank Pavone, and Executive Director, Janet Morana, are challenging the HHS mandate within the Affordable Care Act that calls on employers to provide cost-free contraception and abortifacient drugs and devices to their employees.

The case, along with six others, will be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court on March 23.

“This case can be seen as an extension of the Black Lives Matter movement,” said Evangelist King. “Freedom of religion is cherished by African-Americans. If we lose this battle, and allow the federal government to dictate how we may practice our religion, everyone loses. This is a human rights fight and a civil rights fight. Everyone’s religious freedom is under review.”

I Am Not a Racist Idiot!

THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL ENDORSEMENT!

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” – ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I have just been called an idiot for viewing and possibly agreeing with this video below. Told I am naive because Trump is a racist. I am not endorsing ANY candidates. Just seeking to enlighten people.

There is a lot of stirring up fear these days. Evoking George Wallace and KKK to make people fearful without noting that Governor Wallace and many KKK members repented and turned to Christ. Did they all, no? Yet many did. Also, my Uncle MLK was called a hate monger and rabble rouser. Even the most perfect lamb that ever lived and died for us and rose again, our LORD JESUS CHRIST, was called a rabble rouser by his opposition. When the pot is stirred, tempers boil.

Here are some important observations.

It takes between 12%-15% of the Black vote for ANY candidate to win the US presidency. President GW Bush understood this. He had many Black conservative advisors, as did President Reagan. President GW Bush’s and to some extent President Reagan’s presidential appointments reflected such understanding. Most democrat candidates understand this and spend some time, money and effort on the black vote, although they tend to take the Black vote for granted, as their entitlement. On the other hand, Republicans tend to attempt to suppress the Black vote and frown at candidates who seek to bring Blacks into the party.

See these op-eds by Clarence McKee. I pray that people are paying attention.

And finally, three scriptures:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” – ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” – ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” – ‭‭James‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Fr. Pavone Blasts Notre Dame Decision to Honor Vice President Joe Biden

NEW YORK – Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement regarding Notre Dame University’s decision to honor pro-abortion Vice President Joe Biden with the 2016 Laetare Medal, the highest award the university gives to Catholics.

“Back in 2009, I was honored to stand with graduating students at Notre Dame who refused to attend their own commencement because pro-abortion President Obama was being honored by the University. We had an alternate commencement ceremony, in which the students’ commitment to defending the most vulnerable among us, the unborn, was highlighted and honored.

“Apparently, some at Notre Dame still don’t get it. And this time, matters are made worse, because the pro-abortion public official being honored claims to be Catholic. Any attempt by him, or by the University, to cloud the issue with philosophical or theological abstractions and nuances only proves the point (as I make at length in my new book, Abolishing Abortion) that there is a profound institutional denial, in many of our Catholic institutions and dioceses, that we are living in the midst of a holocaust. There is only one legitimate Catholic response to this holocaust, and it is identical to the only legitimate human response: radical solidarity with the children in the womb and with their families, expressed by a total rejection of abortion both in culture and in law.

“On the political landscape today, there is a widespread frustration and rejection of establishment politics. The same is true within the Church. Countless faithful Catholics — priests included — are fed up with the disconnect between the rhetoric and the action, and the betrayal by leaders and institutions that don’t live up to the principles on which they were founded.

“Vice President Biden, like President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and many others, are public servants who do not know the difference between serving the public and killing the public. Our youngest brothers and sisters, our nation, and our Church – in all its institutions – deserve better than that.

“Priests for Life calls on Catholic institutions and in fact on all schools to remember at this year’s commencement exercises the children who would have graduated had they not been aborted. A mention of these children, a candle, a dedication in the yearbook, or an empty chair would all be appropriate ways to remember them.”

Priests for Life is the largest ministry in the Catholic Church focused on ending abortion. View here a playlist of videos of Fr. Pavone’s talks at Notre Dame in 2009 during the alternative commencement ceremony: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9D166BCD035DC37F

Evangelist Alveda King announces new “Politics 101 for Values Votes” because Black voices, Black votes Matter – For Life

Staten Island, NY – Evangelist Alveda King, Director of the now “Civil Rights for the Unborn (CRU), The African American [Anti-Abortion] Outreach for Priests for Life” had this to say about why “so few African Americans and Catholics vote for prolife candidates.” King, the daughter and niece of 20th century civil rights leaders Rev. A. D. King and his brother Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and a civil rights activist in her own right says: “For decades we have often wondered why so many African Americans who are spiritually conservative and Catholics who are naturally prolife by nature vote en masse for pro-abortion and anti-family values candidates. The answer is simple; the politics of closed election primaries in many states herd otherwise conservative voters onto the plantation into the Democrat stables. That’s where the donkeys abide.”

Pointing to a recent “Meet the Candidates” and “Know Your Voting Rights” voter info campaign as a tool, King believes that simple lessons in what she calls “Politics 101 for Value Votes” will empower more voters to cast the ballot according to “convictions rather than political correctness.” King says that “the reports are coming in now about how many African Americans are going to the polls and given ballots that have only two candidates from which to choose. When they ask about the missing candidates, they are given party specific ballots and not so gentle nudges and directives such as “this is our ballot in this state.” Or, if you want to vote for another party, you have to sign a pledge that you are no longer a member of the party of your choice. Many people believe that it is disloyal if not downright illegal to vote for a person outside of the voter’s registered party. So, out of fear of what they consider to be disrespect in some cases and coercion in all too many cases, people vote for their parties rather than convictions.

Case in point; in the 2016 Georgia primary, my son and I wanted to cast votes for candidates who were not on the ballot we were directed to. It took about 15 minutes to explain that we wanted to vote for someone on another ballot. There was an attempt to shame us into asking for the other ballot out loud. So finally I announced very loudly to the entire room: “I need a ballot with Dr. Ben Carson on it.” The new ballot was grudgingly produced. Why am I sharing this testimony?

This information is especially relevant during this election; so many people are coming forth with similar testimonies, about something close to coercion in the polls. This is all so important, because there is so much discussion about what matters. Black lives and Black life without abortion matters to many African Americans. Sanctity of life matters to many Catholics. Prayerfully, Politics 101 will shine a light on the matter at hand.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” – Hosea 4:6

Fr. Pavone: Clinton, Sanders out of step with Americans on abortion

NEW YORK — Even the Huffington Post expressed dismay that after seven debates, the Democratic candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton had not been asked any questions about their extreme views on abortion. A Twitter campaign, #AskAboutAbortion was even started because of the glaring omission on an issue of such importance to so many Americans.

Last night, finally, Bret Baier broke the silence on the Fox News Town Hall with the Democratic candidates. He asked both candidates, “Can you name a single circumstance at any point in a pregnancy in which you would be OK with abortion being illegal?”

Sen. Sanders could not name a single circumstance. Touting the worn-out and contrary-to-fact slogan of abortion advocates, he said, “That is a decision to be made by the woman, her physician and her family.”

Secretary Clinton said, “I have been on record in favor of a late pregnancy regulation that would have exceptions for the life and health of the mother.”

But as those who follow the abortion issue closely know, “health of the mother” is the exception that swallows the rule, because under Supreme Court precedent, any circumstance can be construed as a “health” reason.

Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, commented, “Once again, the Democrats can’t point to an abortion that they wouldn’t permit. This does not simply reflect the views of these two candidates, but that of the official party platform. At the same time, it is out of touch with grassroots Americans, including Democrats, who are increasingly opposed to the out of control policy of abortion on demand that has held sway in America since Roe vs. Wade.”

Fr. Frank Pavone Praises West Virginia Legislature for Protecting Babies from Dismemberment Abortions

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW YORK – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today praised the West Virginia legislature for approving legislation to protect unborn babies from dismemberment abortions.

“West Virginia legislators have made their state and the world a less barbaric place with the passage of this measure,” said Fr. Pavone. “For the law to allow, as it currently does, an unborn child of any age to have his or her body forcibly torn into pieces is a denial of the very purpose of law. With the adoption of this bill safeguarding babies in the womb from dismemberment, the law is one step closer to becoming less inhumane.”

West Virginia’s House of Delegates voted 86 to 13 to approve a Senate-passed measure that would protect children from dismemberment abortions which are performed by pulling on an unborn child’s head and extremities until they are amputated from his or her torso. The bill now goes to Governor Earl Ray Tomblin, who last year saw his veto of the state’s Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act overridden by the legislature.

“The choice is now Governor Tomblin’s,” added Fr. Pavone. “Does he want to be on the side of humanity and compassion and sign this bill or on the side of those who make their living taking lives? If he’s smart, he’ll sign this bill.”

Priests for Life is helping to lead efforts nationally to advance Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion bills. Priests for Life gave an award to Kansas Governor Sam Brownback at the March for Life in D.C. in January because he was the first governor to sign such a measure.
