WASHINGTON, D.C. — Do the U.S. government and the Supreme Court have the authority to permit the killing of a baby?

That was the question Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, asked during a press conference yesterday at the National Press Club here.

During the event – titled Elections 2016: Moving to Higher Ground – Father Pavone was flanked by Catholic priests and a deacon as he stressed the moral imperative of voting, and voting for life.

“We are in the midst of a critically important election cycle,” Father Pavone said. “Voting is not only a right, it’s an obligation. It’s part of the responsibility that citizens have for the common good.”

Fr. Pavone – Debate Makes Candidates’ Positions on Human Life Crystal Clear

NEW YORK – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, has issued the following statement on the third presidential debate between Donald J. Trump and Hillary Rodham Clinton.

“The candidates agreed on one important point – in this election, the Supreme Court is the central issue of the campaign. But that’s where the agreement ends.

“Mrs. Clinton defended partial-birth abortion, falsely stated that China no longer has forced abortions, and said it was ‘scare rhetoric’ to say that babies are ‘ripped from the womb’ at nine months. Mr. Trump said that he finds partial-birth abortion unacceptable and that he will appoint justices who will overturn Roe v. Wade and send abortion law back to the states.

“The facts are that babies actually are torn limb from limb by dismemberment abortions. To say they are ‘ripped from the womb’ is not ‘scare rhetoric,’ it’s simply descriptive of what happens in abortions. As for the claim that China does not perform forced abortions on women anymore, human rights experts will vehemently disagree.

“The most crucial fact for this election is that the next President will appoint at least one and possibly two or three justices to the Supreme Court. Our future and the future of countless children’s lives are at stake in this race.”

Priests for Life to host press conference Thursday at National Press Club

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, along with other Catholic priests, will host a press conference on Thursday, Oct. 20 called Elections 2016: Moving to Higher Ground.

In an attempt to move beyond the mudslinging and to address instead what should be the most consequential moral debate in this election, Fr. Pavone and the other priests will challenge the candidates, the parties and the voters with the foundational issue of protecting the right to life of children in the womb.

There will also be a challenge to pastors to inform their people of what the Church has said about the primary importance of the abortion issue. The priests will call on their brother priests to stop censoring themselves through exaggerated interpretations of the Johnson Amendment.

The priests will also address the moral obligation to vote, even when the choices are difficult, and will urge voters not to sit out the election.

The press conference will begin at 10 a.m. in the Murrow Room, 13th floor, of the National Press Club, located at 529 14th St. NW.

Priests for Life also will have a full-page ad in the Washington Times and several diocesan newspapers on Thursday, and the National Catholic Register will carry as an insert Priests for Life’s non-partisan comparison of the Republican and Democratic Party platforms.

“Let’s make a few things clear,” Fr. Pavone emphasized. “Candidates and political parties that support the legality of abortion support, according to Pope Saint John Paul II, a ‘tyrant state.’ And pastors need to proclaim this clearly from the pulpit… and if they don’t, we will challenge them to explain why. Moreover, to those who are not voting because they don’t like either candidate, our message is that this election is not about what makes you feel good, but about the common good.”

Opportunities for one-on-one interviews will be available beginning at 9 a.m. in the Murrow Room.

To drive home the point that there is no more urgent moral issue than abortion, the press conference will include medical diagrams of what abortion does to the child.

Not your grandfather’s Party

NEW YORK – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today released a “timeline” showing some of the changes in the Democratic Party Platform between 1952 and 2016. It quotes from the party platforms for most of the intervening versions of it (issued every four years), and focuses on three issues of key concern to many citizens: abortion, sexual morality, and gay marriage.

This document shows that the worldview and policy preferences of the Democratic party today are not what they were in the past, and the change brings that worldview farther away from that of the Christian and Biblical faith on basic matters of morality.

“Moral corruption is not only found in individuals; it is also found in laws, public policies, party platforms, and court decisions,” explained Fr. Pavone. “As the U.S. Bishops have indicated, we should not vote merely according to party loyalty, but according to principle. To do that, we have to know how the party platforms have changed. Anyone, furthermore, who builds walls against the smallest children, keeping them from the right to be born, is not acting as a Christian.”

Fr. Frank Pavone on Debate: Composition of the Supreme Court will determine direction of the country for next generation

NEW YORK – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement following the second presidential debate Sunday night.

“One candidate, Hillary Clinton, said in the second presidential debate that she would appoint a justice to the Supreme Court who would uphold Roe v. Wade, the decision that made abortion on demand legally permissible. One candidate, Donald Trump, said he would appoint a justice with views similar to those of the late Justice Antonin Scalia, who said that there was nothing in the Constitution to justify Roe. The difference in the candidates’ answers couldn’t be clearer or more important.

“To say that this election presents stark contrasts in the two candidates is an understatement. I applaud audience member Beth Miller, who asked the Supreme Court question because it really was the supreme moment of the night. Whoever controls the composition of the Supreme Court in the next four years will, in an untold number of ways, control the direction of the country for the next generation.”

Tells presidential hopeful you can’t be Catholic and pro-abortion

NEW YORK — Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, is asking Catholics to sign on to an Open Letter to Tim Kaine, the Democratic vice presidential hopeful who describes himself as Catholic but believes that abortion must remain legal.

“The assertion that your “personal beliefs’ and ‘public actions’ can remain separate on this issue simply does not hold water,” Father Pavone wrote in the open letter. “The Tim Kaine who believes things privately is the same person who permits them publicly — one person, one name, one conscience.

“Some have described you as a “Pope Francis Catholic.” Would that this were the case. There is only one Catholicism, and Pope Francis embraces it. That Catholicism calls for acceptance of all the teachings of the Church, including the teaching that the unborn child is to be treated as a person. To hold that these children can be legally killed is not to treat them as persons.”

The open letter is similar to one Father Pavone penned in 2013 to then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who calls herself Catholic but insists that abortion is “sacred ground” in her political life.

In his letter to Kaine, Father Pavone said: “You claim to be Catholic and yet support the legal killing of more than a million children a year. The only logical explanation for this is that you are seeking to please both the Democratic party — which will not tolerate anyone in your position who tries to protect unborn children — and Catholic voters — who may be led to vote for you because you say you are “Catholic.”

As he did with Ms. Pelosi, Father Pavone calls on Kaine to “simply be consistent and honest. Either call for the protection of unborn children, or admit that you reject the call of the Catholic Church to do so.”

“Tim Kaine will be in the national spotlight tonight as he debates his Republican rival, Mike Pence,” Father Pavone noted. “We can’t be sure the subject of Kaine’s false Catholicism will come up, but by signing this open letter, people of faith can let him know what they think about his pro-abortion stance. Please sign it today!”

Candidates and Viewers Need Prayer Prep for Tonight’s Debate

Monday, September 26th, 2016

160926 blog image1

Today, as the first round of the U. S. general election presidential debates approaches, two parties will be represented on stage tonight. Which party will champion all human life from the womb to the tomb?

As the candidates go through their preparation regiments for tonight’s battle, we need to prepare to listen without having our feelings prevent us from hearing truth.

This cannot be a personality contest or an emotional who owes us an apology exercise. We can’t afford to be distracted by division.

We, the Acts 17:26 “One Blood, One Human Race” family must unite in prayer so that God will heal our nation!

“We must learn to live together as brothers [and sisters] or perish as fools.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

It is now time to consider the platforms. Which candidate will promote justice, safety, and human dignity for all Americans, in the womb, after birth and throughout their lives?

Please join and support this urgent prayer appeal by praying with us the Election Prayer for Life.

Also, please agree with me in prayer at https://youtu.be/52KilPf3q3M and sign this Open Letter, YOU NEED TO VOTE.

Also, since the African American community is in the spotlight during this election cycle, you might find this Town Hall Meeting of interest.

Finally, as we prepare to view tonight’s debate, pray for the candidates and continue to support us as we PRAY FOR AMERICA.

PLYMOUTH, MI — Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, will deliver a keynote address tonight on the elections, religious freedom and the HHS mandate during the annual dinner of the American Freedom Law Center.

Father Pavone also will receive the 2016 Freedom Fighter Award during the event, along with Lilly Johnson, president of Johnson Welded Products, and Greg Cunningham, executive director of the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform.

Following tonight’s event, Father Pavone’s speech will be available on the Priests for Life website, and on his social media platforms.

“We have just weeks to go to decide the fate of our nation,” Father Pavone said. “I will use every opportunity between now and Election Day to spread the message that sitting out this election is not an option. The stakes are too high.
Unless a candidate who values life and religious liberty is elected to the White House, the United States, in short order, will become unrecognizable. We cannot let that happen.”

The American Freedom Law Center represents Priests for Life in its challenge to the Affordable Care Act’s contraception mandate. Priests for Life vs. HHS is one of the seven cases consolidated under Zubik vs. Burwell.

Another Challenge – This Time Trump Health Care

Thursday, September 15th, 2016

Donald Trump Campaigns In New Hampshire Ahead Of Primary

There is yet again more controversy, this time about whether or not Mr. Trump should include children of homosexual parents, partners or adopters in the health care plan.

Even in a case like this, Prolife would dictate that an innocent child deserves protection and health care.

While both abortion and homosexual marriage are anti-Bible, all the children are alive and in need of God’s grace, in and out of the womb; as well as do those who birth or adopt them.

At the end of the day, a child is a child no matter what.

This current argument about human sexuality and healthcare for children is yet another tactic designed to cause distraction, angst and confusion.

It’s like putting the children in the middle of a child custody battle. The children are innocents, not to be used as pawns. Grace is needed on behalf of the children.

“I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” – Galatians 2:21 KJV

My friend CC, a Prolife Prayer Warrior writes:

“When a homosexual woman comes into our facility impregnated via in vitro or by having sexual intercourse with who she considers a sperm donor, we love her and the child in her womb by taking care of the mother and the child together. We’ve seen lives saved and hearts change because of Jesus love.

“We’re known as a Christian ministry. We’ve had to address this in our hearts before the first person crossed the threshold. While we do not agree with homosexuality or abortion, we take to Jesus the human dignity of the mother, father and child. God the One Who gives Life….the Creator Sustainer of all human life.

“Through us honoring and valuing each life and reflecting His Love and Truth…His Word in our hearts…hearts and lives change. We know this to be true. Love.”

I agree! Human dignity and human frailty, that’s what Jesus’ love and blood cure. Oh God, save our sin sick souls. Friends, Stay focused. America, PRAY!
