Evangelist Alveda King continues King Legacy Series with New GG’S COOKBOOK

Thursday, November 2nd, 2017

Atlanta, GA – Why is Alveda King writing a cookbook? Who even knew she could cook? Does anybody care? In 2015 Evangelist King, prolife civil rights activist and Christian minister released KING RULES, her second print release in a series of “King Family Legacy” books. Her first legacy book SONS OF THUNDER: KING FAMILY LEGACY was written in the 1990s and was considered by some to be “controversial.” In 2016, King released AMERICA RETURN TO GOD which continues with narratives of how her relationship to the bloodline of her famous uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. ties in with her work in the 21st century.

In 2017, the “creative evangelist” continues her “legacy assignment” with the soon to be released KING TRUTHS. Added to the series is something King considers to be “lighter fare” in the form of her new cookbook, GG’S HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS COOKBOOK which is currently available online as an e-book. Print copies should be available mid-November.

Along with publishing books, King includes writing and singing original music and producing film contributions in her “arsenal.” She also produces children’s books and artistic projects for her “flock of millennial and post millennial mentees”.

“Having been born into the bloodline of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., I take the role and responsibility of being a guardian to the King Family Legacy very seriously. My parents, Rev. A. D. King and Mrs. Naomi Ruth Barber King, assisted by my grandparents Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr. and Mrs. Alberta Williams King instilled in me the importance of putting God, family and community first in my lifetime agenda,” says King. “Here in 2017 the perfect opportunity to combine our family legacy of faith, hope, love and hospitality with solutions to the critical problems of our day just seemed too good to pass up.”

A satisfied reader penned this review, “This cookbook makes you feel like you’re in the kitchen with Alveda King (daughter of A.D. King and Naomi King and niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) and her family. I’m not much of a cook but I’m going to try some of these recipes. I enjoyed the QR codes (for videos) that allow you to get to know the King Family like never before. My granddaughter enjoyed the videos as much, if not more, than I did.”

King is Founder of Alveda King Ministries and Director of Civil Rights for the Unborn for Priests for Life. She uses her “God given gifts and talents to glorify God in the earth.” In GG’s Cookbook, her new culinary offerings are being served up during the holidays; “just in time to bring love and reconciliation to the tables around the world.”

Atlanta, GA – Timed to coincide with the 53rd anniversary of Rev. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, Priests for Life’s African-American Outreach is launching a new website, logo, mascot and name – Civil Rights for the Unborn (CRU) – for the ministry led by MLK’s niece.

“We interrupt our announcement of unveiling our new “Civil Rights for the Unborn” website to report more death from another Planned Parenthood abortion, says Evangelist Alveda King.

“Mounting grief over yet more abortion deaths – this time of Michigan mother Cree Erwin and baby – overshadows our news. Black leaders and prolife leaders at large are outraged and grieved that yet another young beautiful Black woman and her baby have recently succumbed to painful deaths following an abortion at a Planned Parenthood facility,” explains King.

In the aftermath of Ms. Erwin’s abortion death, one of many in America, Pastor Clennard Childress, cofounder of L.E.A.R.N. says: “Black Life Matters has [recently] teamed up with the most destructive racist machine in American history; its founder, Margaret Sanger was the most devout racist of her time! The leading killer of innocent unarmed African Americans in the womb – whose hands were up, but given no choice or chance at the American Dream their fellow African American, Dr. Martin Luther King preached about – is Planned Parenthood!

“It breaks my heart that when a young man is gunned down by a [police officer], the media runs with it like wildfire. Yet, if an abortionist kills a young black woman and baby, the silence is tragic,” adds Dr. Johnny Hunter, cofounder of L.E.A.R.N.

“My uncle didn’t live to experience the horrors of legal abortion, which includes death to babies and harm to women. Today he would have fought just as hard to secure the rights of unborn Americans as he fought for racial justice for Blacks.

“Americans and all people are not racially divided biologically or spiritually, but are rather ‘one blood/one race.’ [Acts 17:26] At CRU we seek to end abortion genocide and educate and unite the human family around the sanctity of life.

“We can reflect our support for life by praying, participating in the prolife movement, and voting prolife,” King urged.

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, concludes: “No other civil rights issue of our day is more important than securing the right to life for the human beings still in their mothers’ wombs.”

Civil Rights for the Unborn Unveils New Logo

As Juneteenth approaches, Civil Rights for the Unborn – the African-American outreach for Priests for Life – has unveiled a new logo that makes clear that “justice for all” must include the unborn.

Evangelist Alveda King, who became Priests for Life’s first African-American Outreach director in 2004, said the new logo is a visual reminder that all human lives matter, born or pre-born.

“At Civil Rights for the Unborn, we stress that a child in the womb is a separate and unique individual who has the same inalienable right to life as all of us,” she said. “But we also care about the mothers who feel driven to abortion by personal circumstances. We hope to reach moms before they make the irrevocable choice to abort their children, and we also want to contact mothers who have already bought the abortion lie and are suffering as a result, as I did for many years.”

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, said he and Evangelist King – the niece of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. – came together when both realized that the pro-life movement is the civil rights movement of the 21st century.

“The right to life is the most fundamental and most important right we have,” Father Pavone said. “No other civil rights issue of our day is more important than securing the right to life for the human beings still in their mother’s womb.”

In observance of Juneteenth this year, Evangelist King is asking people to visit the website www.CRUJuneteenth.com and signup for a social media Tweetfest taking place on Twitter on June 17, from 12 – 1 PM. Use the hashtags #FreetheBabiesServetheMothers and #Juneteenth2016 and help them go viral.

Also, visit www.CivilRightsfortheUnborn.com and signup for important updates on the movement.

“For our pro-life efforts to be successful,” Evangelist King said, “we’ve got to love them both.”
