Working Together

The following report is proof positive that when we stay in our lanes and do our best work and respect others who are on different pages in the same book, leaders get bolder and are more willing to approach all or nothing based on successful advances.

Kansas State Representative Steve Brunk said Friday after the passage of the omnibus pro-life bill, “There are a growing number of legislators who want to explore the practicality of moving toward fetal heartbeat as opposed to the incremental approach.” House Judiciary Chairman Lance Kinzer, a pro-life leader in the legislature, added, “We’re at a point of re-evaluation. We’re now looking at a different agenda because so much of what we wanted to be accomplished, will be accomplished.”

Analysis: Kan. abortion foes’ wins create dilemma

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Kansas has enacted a wave of stricter abortion laws in the two-plus years Republican Gov. Sam Brownback has been in office, but those successes have led abortion opponents to discuss changing their tactics, unsure about what initiatives they’ll pursue next.

Thirty-two Kansas House members are sponsoring a proposed ban on most abortions as soon as a fetal heartbeat can be detected, which can occur as early as the sixth week of pregnancy, and the idea has the backing of the anti-abortion group Operation Rescue. Nine of those House members also were sponsors of a previous “personhood” amendment to the state constitution aimed at banning all abortions, declaring that the constitution protects the rights of individual starting at fertilization.

Kansas not only bans most abortions starting at the 22nd week of pregnancy, but . . .

UPDATE: Patient Carhart Killed is Identified and Pro-Life Leaders Call for Investigation of Carhart

SPACER

(From L-R, Tonya Reaves, Jennifer Morbelli, Marla, and Christin Gilbert)

(From L-R, Tonya Reaves, Jennifer Morbelli, Marla, and Christin Gilbert)

As many of you may already know, another woman has died at the hands of an abortionist. Her name was Jennifer McKenna-Morbelli. Also dead is her 33-week-old preborn daughter, Madison Leigh. Both died at the hands of late-term abortionists LeRoy Carhart at Germantown Reproductive Health Services in Germantown, MD.

You can read a detailed account of what happened at Jill Stanek’s blog HERE.

Since news of this recent killing many in the pro-life community is calling for an intense investigation into her death and the practices of LeRoy Carhart. Among those calling for an investigation is our own Fr. Frank Pavone. HERE is what he had to say.

Jennifer is not the first woman that Carhart has killed. In 2005 he performed an abortion on Christin Gilbert what resulted in her death. Operation Rescue tried to get justice for Christin but was unsuccessful. Read her story HERE.

Although the abortion industry likes to say that abortions should be rare and safe, they are neither. Priests for Life has joined forces with Operation Rescue and Life Dynamics to bring attention to the many deaths of women who have had abortions in a new project at safeandlegal.com

All this news comes on the heels of the death of Tonya Reaves who was killed after a botched second- trimester abortion at a Planned Parenthood abortion mill in Chicago. The National Black Prolife Coalition has worked tirelessly to bring attention to this terrible tragedy. Just recently the Thomas More Society, acting on behalf of the Pro-Life Action League, has formally requested that the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation investigate the death of Tonya Reaves, the 24-year-old who died last July 20 after suffering a Chicago Planned Parenthood abortion. Read more HERE.

Much is happening in the pro-life world. Many states are passing pro-life legislation with 2012 recording record numbers of bills passed.

Abortion is being exposed! We will abolish abortion!

All the lies that the abortion industry has been telling are coming unraveled; are dying. As my Uncle M.L. said, “A lie cannot live.” In the end, truth will always prevail over lies, light over darkness, and life over death.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, is helping to lead a prayer vigil and press conference this morning at the site of abortionist LeRoy Carhart’s late-term killing center here.

Carhart performed a 33-week abortion this past week on Jennifer Leigh Morbelli, 29, who died after the procedure, along with her daughter, Madison Leigh. Her death is being investigated. A witness says she developed complications, and Carhart could not be contacted to take care of her.

Fr. Frank will call this morning for swift action on the part of the state of Maryland to not only investigate this death but also to stop Carhart from killing children and their mothers. Fr. Frank will also ask every priest across the nation to offer two Masses: one for the repose of the soul of Jennifer and her baby Madison, and another for the conversion of abortionist LeRoy Carhart.

King, Pavone, Gardner appalled by rising death counts on NAACP, CBC watch

Friday, February 8th, 2013

SPACERLeRoy CarhartAnother woman and baby dead by legal abortion and African American and other religious prolife leaders are outraged as the NAACP, The Congressional Black Caucus, many in the Christian and political community and others remain silent on the Reproductive Genocide issue.

“The death count keeps rising. Why aren’t our highly visible “leaders” protesting?” asks Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Director of African American Outreach for Priests for Life and post-abortive spokeswoman for the Silent No More Awareness Campaign.

“It has happened again. Another mother has been killed by so-called ‘safe and legal’ abortion,” said Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. “It happens constantly, in fact, but the abortion industry usually succeeds in covering it up. And even when they don’t, the rest of us succeed in keeping it relatively quiet. Late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart began an abortion procedure a few days ago on a woman who was about 33 weeks pregnant. These abortions are legal, and he performs them at his killing center in Germantown, MD. Yesterday, she developed complications. The abortionist could not be reached. She was taken to the emergency room by private vehicle, and she died,” Pavone explained.

“Women of all ages, shapes, sizes and ethnicities are dying by abortion,” added King who cited the recent death by abortion of Tonya Reaves in Chicago. “My great-great grandfather , Dr. Adam Daniel Williams, a pastor original NAACP founder would be appalled to know that mothers and children are being denied liberty and life at the hands of the abortion/contraceptives industry. We must RECALL ABORTION now.”

Day Gardner, founder of the National Black Pro-Life Union laments, “This recent death adds to the chilling reports of reproductive genocide in America. why is the NAACP silent… again? As a child, I thought the NAACP to be a super hero organization; an organization that would fight racism down to its very core — and like a super hero — it would always stand for truth and justice…fighting boldly for civil rights and freedom for all black people.”

“Apparently, there was some fine print in there that said — except for those children who are too small to defend themselves — we will allow their civil rights to be violated,” said Gardner.

“What bothers me most is the NAACP is very quick to recognize racism everywhere else except the one place that truly affects all of us. Black women and their unborn children are targeted by the abortion industry while the NAACP looks the other way,” Gardner concluded.

It would seem that the National Black Prolife Coalition is striking a serious nerve and a serious chord in their efforts to expose the blatant Reproductive Genocide Movement in America. When Ryan Bomberger posted an add calling out the National Association for the Abortion of Colored People on his websites, the NAACP squealed real loud, even going to the point of calling their attorneys to apply scare tactics to charge Ryan to back down. The NAACP was also shocked by the aggressive prayer protest hosted by Dr. Johnny Hunter, Pastor Stephen Broden, Rev. Walter Hoye, and other Black leaders of the National Black Prolife Coalition who appeared with local leaders at the February 1, 2013 NAACP Image Awards to demand that the NAACP break ties with the abortion and contraceptives industry, headed up by Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider. The leaders also demanded that the NAACP break ties with the homosexual marriage campaign and return to those values that are life affirming for colored people.

“There really is a National Alliance, Campaign or Association for the Abortion of Colored People. This force to be reckoned with includes Planned Parenthood, the NAACP, The Congressional Black Caucus, the abortion supporting political powers that be, and unfortunately the Christian pastors of America who for the most part are watching this debacle play out from the sidelines,” said Alveda King.

“Since 1973, over 55 million babies have been legally aborted – which means slaughtered or killed – in America. Black babies make up nearly one third of the deaths, which is Reproductive Genocide in that the living African American population in America is estimated to be around 13%. Add to these startling figures the deaths and serious injuries of women who are victims of the supposedly “safe, legal and rare” abortions and harmful, invasive contraceptives that the Alliance for the Abortion of Colored People want to keep ramming down our throats while they keep laughing at us all the way to the bank, filling their coffers at the expense of the blood shed by our babies and our women.

“Enough is enough already! Too many babies are dead; too many women are hurt, suffering or dead by acts of abortion. If people really want to advance colored people, they will help the least of these rediscover the lost values that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke of during his lifetime. They will help colored people and all people discover purpose in life. They will help people find jobs, and finish their education. They will recall abortion. They will own up to the duplicities that they attempt to cover up with deceptive ad campaigns that promise to help us when all the time they keep killing us.

“Pray that the voices against this injustice will increase, will grow stronger, and that America will wake up before it is too late,” King concluded.

Father Frank Pavone: The Silence Ends Today

Friday, February 8th, 2013

Priests for Life

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: February 8, 2013

Contact: Leslie Palma
347-286-7277

STATEN ISLAND, NY – Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement today regarding the death of a young woman during a late-term abortion at the Germantown, Md., clinic of LeRoy Carhart.

“It has happened again. Another mother has been killed by so-called ‘safe and legal’ abortion. It happens constantly, in fact, but the abortion industry usually succeeds in covering it up. And even when they don’t, the rest of us succeed in keeping it relatively quiet.

“That has to change today.

“Late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart began an abortion procedure a few days ago on a woman who was about 33 weeks pregnant. These abortions are legal, and he performs them at his killing center in Germantown, MD. Yesterday, she developed complications. The abortionist could not be reached. She was taken to the emergency room by private vehicle, and she died.

“Three things need to happen here. First, the state of Maryland has to shut down Carhart’s killing business. Second, every person who cares about this needs to spread the word immediately about this tragedy, to awaken the consciences of our neighbors. This includes pastors speaking out about the harm abortion does, and it includes all of us telling the stories of those harmed and killed by abortion.

“Third, we need to redouble our efforts to mobilize people in the pro-life cause. If this latest tragedy isn’t enough evidence that the time to end abortion is now, then what is?”

“No longer will we allow these women to remain unknown to the American public,” Father Pavone said. “The silence ends today.”

Not Safe, Moral or Rare

Wednesday, January 16th, 2013

Tonya_Maria

www.safeandlegal.com lists names of women who are known to be dead by abortion. Add to that list thousands of women whose abortion complications were covered and you will begin to see the tip of the iceberg melt into a quagmire of gigantic proportions.

As a post abortive African American Woman, I can attest that abortion kills babies and harms and even sometimes kills their mothers. I bear the harmful fruit of my own abortions in my own body in the form of phlebitis and other lingering health problems from the abortion surgeries and subsequent abortion drugs called contraceptives also meted out to me by Planned Parenthood during my childbearing years. Read my complete testimony at www.silentnomoreawareness.org.

Planned Parenthood lied to me about abortion. They said abortion is safe. It isn’t. Ask Tonya Reaves. Of course you really can’t talk to her now because her Planned Parenthood abortion killed her and her baby. Her name is in the safe and legal site, along with graphic photos of Marla Cardomone’s autopsy. WARNING – death by abortion isn’t pretty. Marla was a beautiful Caucasian woman, Tonya a beautiful Black woman. Both and many more are DBA.

Planned Parenthood, who also disproportionally targets Black women for abortions with deceptive marketing tactics, is still lying today. Abortion and its related accouterments is not safe, moral, or rare. It’s just legal, legal reproductive genocide. And yet PPH received over $500 Million in US tax dollars last year. Figure that.

Nearly 55 million babies, nearly 20 million of which are African Americans, have been slaughtered by abortion since the landmine Roe vs Wade decision 40 years ago. Count one of my abortions in that number. And the one before that, a legal though barbaric local non-anesthesia DNC which was really an abortion.

The root of abortion is deeper and older than one would think. It’s source stems from slavery as evidenced in the rivalries between the slaves and free. Dr. Karen Stevenson writes in her noted Utrum research paper that on the surface, “It seems that abortion, like all methods of birth control, benefits African-American women because it allows them to exercise their right of autonomy over their own bodies. The fight for legalized abortion as a means of birth control entered the scene later in the fight for women to control their reproductive rights, but abortion itself has always been a “necessary evil” lurking in the background of women’s lives. The issue of reproductive rights has had long lasting roots among African-American women since the era of chattel slavery in this nation. The history of slavery and racism in American culture are crucial to any discussion about black women and choice.”

In studying Dr. Stevenson’s findings we discover a connection between slave women and their master’s wives who were also considered to be chattels in the early and not so pristine history of our great nation. For example, the often revered Thomas Jefferson owned slaves and his caucasian wife and black slave mistress Sally Hemmings were half sisters, sired by the same father.

Such liaisons caused enmity between the Caucasian women and their slaves, wherein the slaves often either chose to abort their mulatto babies to prevent them being born into slavery or they were coerced into abortion or sometimes cruelly forced to abort by jealous wives of slave masters.

Slave mothers were sometimes forced to abandon their own hungry wailing babies to go to the “big house” to breast feed “Massa’s” babies. This often created an aversion to breast feeding in Black women that remains inherent today in many instances. And herein we discover the link between abortion, contraceptives and breast cancer.

So the frustrated slave women often aborted their babies (Pure Breed and Mulatto) voluntarily as an act against sustaining future oppression. The Angry Caucasian Wives often coerced or forced abortion and/or sterilization on their husband’s “Black Beauties” as a means of retaliation against their own brand of experienced oppression.

While many good hearted people like Susan B. Anthony were abolitionists and supported women’s rights; at the same time there were many women who were abolitionists that ended up becoming women rights activists whose bitterness caused them to adopt a deceptive contraceptives and finally an abortion “choice” agenda to exercise what they considered to be rights over their wombs. So now we have a war on babies and the wombs of women often led by women and men controlled by a desire for revenge and avarice.

Abortion kills babies and hurts women which is why I recommend that you read Janet Morana’s book RECALL ABORTION.

Friends, we are dealing with a Three Headed Monster in America – Racism, Reproductive Genocide and Sexual Immorality. My uncle Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. once gave a sermon “Rediscovering Lost Values.” We need to slay the three headed beast and revalue life.

Only then can we began to truly see justice roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream. I invite you to read our book LIFE AT ALL COSTS to receive further enlightenment on these issues, including how Jesus healed my abortion pain.

Big Tax Bucks Linked to Abortion Deaths Glaring in the Light of the Tonya Reaves Lawsuits

Tuesday, January 8th, 2013

130108 blog image

Last summer, the National Black Prolife Coalition was among the first and most outraged groups to demand justice for the death of Tonya Reaves, a young Black woman killed by abortion in Chicago. For years, women who have been harmed by abortion have been crying out that “abortion hurts women!” Janet Morana is right to lead the crusade to RECALL ABORTION. As we somberly yet purposefully approach the 40 year landmine of the anniversary of Roe VS Wade, let us make no mistake about it. We are ready to continue this battle for LIFE AT ALL COSTS.

Yesterday Operation Rescue wrote an article stating that a second lawsuit had been filed against Planned Parenthood in the death of Tonya Reaves. Again, Tonya Reaves was a 24 year-old woman who went to Planned Parenthood for an abortion which they botched. She was then left bleeding for five hours before an ambulance was called. She was rushed to the hospital where they discovered that the abortion performed by Planned Parenthood was incomplete and she had to undergo another abortion in the hospital to remove the remainder of the baby. But it was too late and Tonya Reaves died later that evening in the hospital.

The first wrongful death lawsuit against Planned Parenthood was filed by Tonya’s family. The second lawsuit was filed on behalf of Tonya’s surviving son, Alvin, by his father. Tonya and her baby died, leaving young Alvin motherless.

Some people will not understand that along with the injustice of Planned Parenthood killing Tonya, another injustice occurred. They killed her baby in her womb as well. So how do we express to Tonya’s family in a loving way that two people died that day?

Because of lack of coverage by much of the media, not too many people are even aware of Tonya’s murder. And despite efforts by the National Black Prolife Coalition through press releases to hold Planned Parenthood accountable, there seems to be an unusual amount of stall tactics where justice should prevail. One can’t help but remember the onslaught of outrage during the Trayon Martin tragedy? Where are all of those outraged Black leaders who were demanding swift justice for the tragic slaying of Trayvon?

Not only are the leaders of the NAACP and other Black voices such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson lacking in conversation surrounding the unjust death of Tonya. Absent also is the outrage over the death of Tonya’s baby and the other 3,699 babies that were killed that day in abortion mills throughout this country. And all the while, Planned Parenthood keeps laughing on the way to the bank while killing hundreds of thousands of babies every year, to the tune of over 50 million dead babies on record since 1973. What’s even worse is that where before 2012, Planned Parenthood was receiving $1 million dollars a day in U. S. tax dollars, yes, around $365 million dollars a year; in 2012 they received over $500 million dollars from our tax coffers. And they are still operating poorly regulated killing centers around this country. And in a few days, people will be observe the 40th commemoration of legal baby slaughter in America.

Yes, abortion is legal; but it shouldn’t be. Abortion is not civil. Abortion is not moral. Abortion hurts women, kills babies, and even kills women like Tonya and the countless others who have died from abortion and/or subsequent complications over the years. Coat hangers are the excuse they hang over the head of the dead babies and maimed women. But as is explained by recording artist Fred Hammond, many women never used a coat hanger even when abortion was illegal. They just had a “medical procedure” called a D&C for a “mysterious female ailment” which was really a baby in the mother’s/patient’s womb.

The abortion industry began saying that they wanted to make abortion legal, safe, and rare. They have successes in one, legal. Safe, not so. Ask Tonya. Rare? Is 54+ million rare?

As for rare, Planned Parenthood’s annual report just released for FY 2011-2012 (calendar year 2011) shows that abortions are not rare with a record number of abortions in 2011 with 333,964. Over the last three years (2009-2011) Planned Parenthood has performed nearly one million abortions (995,687)

As for safe, well, I think we’ve covered that. I would just like to mention that there have been over 345 reported deaths linked directly botched abortions. And that’s just the ones that we know of that have been attributed to the abortions and are documented. Many other deaths are attributed to other causes but are actually a result of abortion complications.

This outrage bears repeating over and over – despite the government’s saying that they do not pay for abortions, Planned Parenthood received a record $542 million in taxpayer funding last year. They can spin it any way they want to, but our tax dollars are funding murder by abortion and not just for babies. Their mothers are dying too. Women are being lied to; told that abortions are safe and are a civil right. And our babies are dying.

I’M OUTRAGED! WE ALL SHOULD BE OUTRAGED! RECALL ABORTION now!

IT COULD HAVE BEEN ME: Black Leaders Urge: Stop the Killing, Vote Biblical Values for Life on November 6

Thursday, November 1st, 2012

For Immediate Release
November 1, 2012

Contact: Eugene Vigil
757-593-9982

Atlanta, GA — Citing the deaths of hundreds of women, Dr. Alveda King, Dr. Day Gardner and Rev. Catherine Davis of the National Black Prolife Coalition Women’s IT COULD HAVE BEEN ME PROJECT are urging everyone to vote biblical values on November 6.

“Life is precious and beautiful. The brutal deaths of women who die by abortion warrant a vote for life and family. Stop the killing; vote for life,” said Dr. King who heads up www.africanamericanoutreach.com.

“Walter B. Hoye II, founder of Issues4Life Foundation, sanctions this urgent appeal:“Abortion, the most unregulated surgical procedure in the nation, has left a trail of dead women and over 55 million babies in its wake. Last July Tonya Reaves died from an abortion done in a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Chicago. Ms. Reaves isn’t a poster child. She was a soon to be married, beautiful Black woman, mother and twin sister who is yet another victim of the abortion industry’s criminal negligence and depraved indifference toward women and children. My wife and I are praying this tragedy awakens the collective conscience of Black America to this wretched, unregulated and tax-payer funded industry that is profiting from the deaths of our women and children.” Rev. Hoye is a leader in the call for a criminal investigation into the death of Ms. Reaves and other women harmed by abortion.”

In television and radio commercials, the group notes that fathers, mothers, womb babies and society at large are at risk.

“DBA is alarming. Millions of babies have died, thousands of women have been maimed and hundreds of women have died from legal abortions in America since the passage of Roe VS Wade. It could have been me or someone you love,” said Dr. Gardner, founder of the National Black Prolife Union.

NBPC’s national efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider, is advancing their ongoing “awareness campaign” to inform, educate and activate people to get involved to end the “scourge of abortion.” A biblical prolife vote is part of their message.

“The best way to help people is not to fund abortion and contraceptives, but rather support biblical values. People need jobs and education, not abortions,” added Dr. King.

“We’re not advocating a personality contest for voters next week. This issue is too important to play politics. The truth isn’t always politically correct. We want voters to go to the polls and not stay home. We want people to remember God and life when they go to vote” added Dr. Gardner. More information on the campaign can be found at www.couldhavebeenme.com.
