Should Christians Vote?

Friday, October 10th, 2014

SPACER141002 blog image7This is part three of what is becoming a series about voting. Some of the intel from the previous two articles is recapped here.

Just before I was born-again in 1983, I served two terms as a State Legislator for the 28th Georgia House District. I was a Democrat. Years later I served as a Republican Presidential Appointee. Along the way I remember learning that God is greater than politics and that politics can become an idol.

Coming from a Christian family who was very active in the 20th century Civil Rights Movement, we marched and some died for equality at the ballot box; the right to vote. So yes, I honor the privilege and responsibility of taking part in our electoral process.

Yet, for far too many, the issue of voting is still shrouded in debate. Many are still asking: “Should believers take part in the politics of this world, including elections?”

In 2008 two of my friends experienced startlingly revealing dreams about the soon to be “first Black President of America.” Please note that America’s president is not the first Black president in the world; only in America. For instance, countries on the continent of Africa have been electing Black presidents for ages.

So many Americans made an idol of a man’s skin color; electing him for the color of his skin rather than the content of his character.

Never mind that racism is based upon the lie that we are separate races rather than accepting the truth that we are one human race.

Acts 17:26 – “Of one blood God created all people…” YES! One race.

In 2008, amidst the skin color furor of the campaign trail, my radio co-host Emmanuel Boose of cycbroadcast.com was a surrogate speaker for the soon to be elected Black President of the United States. Just before the election, my friend dreamed of a field covered with black garbage bags. As he walked through the maze of bags, he heard a wailing cry from one of the bags. Investigation revealed that the bags were filled with aborted babies. Emmanuel woke up crying, sweating and praying. He knew that he couldn’t vote for his candidate. Emmanuel now had to raise his voice and his vote for the lives of the babies.

During the same time, the wife of another minister friend had recurring dreams of then Senator Obama in a hospital wearing a medical lab coat and a stethoscope. He appeared to be a doctor or medical professional.

It would later be revealed that as US President, Mr. Obama would support an HHS Mandate as a “healthcare cloak” for abortion and harmful experimental contraceptives. The medical guise in the dream represented the invasion of deceptive medical reform.

I was angry about what God was revealing at that time. We were going to elect the most abortion supporting, marriage threatening president we had ever known, and skin color would be used to do this. Wow!

Yet another minister friend, Rev. Clenard Childress of LEARN reminded me to forgive God because God would use this president to expose racism, abortion and the attack on Bible principles for marriage in a way that we had not yet seen.

Since that time, I’ve been praying for the President and his family; and have even visited the White House twice in the last seven years to express God’s love to the President.

Now, voting time is upon us again. Yes, I do vote. When I can’t reconcile my faith to the platforms, I write in names. Yet, I vote. People died for my right to do so.

So what do we do now? Let’s start at home base.

What does the Bible say about voting in elections? Surprisingly nothing specifically. Why?

Consider that in the times of Jesus the Jews were under Roman rule and they were not Roman citizens. Therefore, they were not permitted to vote. In fact, most Roman citizens couldn’t either. Only the very wealthy were allowed to vote.

But we can see in Acts 6:1-5 that an “election” of sorts did take place.

“Now at this time while the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint arose on the part of the Hellenistic Jews against the native Hebrews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily serving of food. And the twelve summoned the congregation of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables. “But select from among you, brethren, seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this task. “But we will devote ourselves to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.” And the statement found approval with the whole congregation; and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch.”

Clearly the seven were to help protect the rights of the people and settle the dispute between the Hellenistic Jews and the native Hebrews.

So it is with our government of today. Once the elected people, “politicians,” are in office, they are expected to safeguard our rights. But one difference is that in the Bible days, the people elected “men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom.” Today, you would have to question the “good” reputation of many in office and more importantly whether they are even men and women who are “full of the Spirit.”

In the elections of 2012, Billy Graham began a campaign, “Vote Biblical Values,” in which he encouraged people to vote for candidates that espoused biblical values and morality, “men/women full of the Spirit.”

So it should be for this election cycle and all elections as well.

In his recent report on “The Shemitah Prophecy” author Rabbi Johnathan Cahn talks about Biblical cycles of blessings which are sometimes affected by negative forces like economic depression, death affirming legislation, 9/11, world wars and the like. These cycles began in the days of Moses and are present today.
http://youtu.be/F6AXP41mr7Q and http://youtu.be/W8B14NSIWc8.

Of course the Shemitah is only one among many warnings of judgment. For example, the year 1963 when prayer was voted out of schools wasn’t a Shemitah year, but much harm has impacted our nation from that occurrence.

Still, all too many ignore God’s signs and judgments, preferring to consult astrology, psychics and demonology. Foolish and shameful!

“O foolish Galatians,” [and Americans] “who has bewitched you, that you turn away from obeying the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ has been evidently set forth, crucified among you?” Galatians 3:1 [annotated]

The Rabbi’s words on Shemitah reveal that the 1973 Roe VS Wade decision that made abortion – the killing of babies in the womb – legal is likely and largely connected to many of the problems America is experiencing.

Mother Theresa once said: “The greatest destroyer of peace is abortion because if a mother can kill her own child, what is left for me to kill you and you to kill me? There is nothing between.”

She also said, “If we accept that a mother can kill her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill each other? Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, rather, to use violence to get what they want.”

As in the days of old, isn’t that what the fear mongers of the world are doing today? Promoting greed and violence over regarding the sanctity of life… Selling birthrights and then shedding innocent blood to wrest erstwhile or unearned or unsecured inheritances by any means?

Yet all is not lost. We can still help shift our world towards a culture of life by voting for those who regard the sanctity of life, marriage, family and THE BIBLE.

So now, as we seek to reconcile everything, what would God have us learn regarding the electorate process?

The heart of God is expressed in the Bible as to His concern for government leaders and leadership by telling us as Christians that we should pray in this vein when we look at the admonition in the following verses:

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4

It is our duty as Christians and as citizens to participate in prayer for the elections and those who seek and gain power to lead. But are we to pray only and not vote?

“So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?” (James 2:17-20 NLT)

Some may say that the Bible doesn’t say vote so I’m not doing it. Well, I haven’t read in the Bible that we are to flush the commode after we use it, but I still do it. Seriously. Is anyone getting this?

So we pray in faith and then go to work; in this instance, vote.

With our votes we can elect godly men and women who will make laws that conform to biblical values.

Thankfully not all of us are called to be political servants. The majority of us will never hold office but still we have an important role to play. We must begin with prayer and discernment. We must educate ourselves on the stances of the candidates and vote accordingly.

October is the “Month for Life,” and is a critical month every year, especially in an election year. As we continue to pray over the upcoming elections, we ask you to spread your payers far and wide via your social media networks and email lists, and in your pro-life groups, community and civil rights meetings, and churches in the coming weeks.

After the elections, no matter what happens, continue to pray. Remember to warn your children and grandchildren about the foundation of Halloween being witchcraft.

Then get ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas, always thanking and giving glory to God for His goodness and the gift of His Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. His pure, sinless, shed blood can never lose it’s power because it cannot die! Jesus’ blood never died. It was shed into the earth for us. He temporarily gave up his body, but was resurrected. HE LIVES.

Then on to the New Year of 2015, another Shemitah Year where the election cycle continues with the election of a new president. What does God have in store? His will is sure to be revealed.

Meanwhile, continue to pray and vote for candidates who agree with and follow THE BIBLE; who support life, marriage and family according to God’s way as if your quality of life is impacted by it. Because it is.

King Rule #7: Care for the Needy (Children at Home and Abroad)

Human Righs Begin in the Womb

It is an honor to stand with mercuryone.org and other compassionate leaders in aiding young immigrants on the borders. The opportunity to serve many of these children during this time of crisis was truly humbling.

I was praying to God for these innocent children when a call from Glen Beck’s office came, inviting me to join in the July 19, mission in McAllen, Texas. I was relieved. This “Macedonian Call” in the midst of our current border crisis was an answer to prayer.

We, America, are at another pivotal moment in our history. Many different crises are occurring right now and how we handle them will show the world what kind of a country the United States of America truly is.

One such crisis is the influx of immigrants crossing into our southern states that border with Mexico. Thousands of children, mostly from Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador, are coming to America because their parents think they can have better opportunities here.

Before even addressing how best to handle the immigration crisis confronting our nation we first have to consider how to help these minors in need of food, clothing, shelter, and medical attention. Once we’ve done that, then we can deal with the rest.

And just how do we do that?

Consider, The US gives billions of dollars in foreign aid each year; $13 billion in 2013. Of that $13 billion, Honduras received $82+ million, Guatemala received $104+ million, and El Salvador received $66+ million. That’s $252+ million. Now, the millions in the 2014 budget could be redirected to provide immediate care for these children until a more permanent plan can be implemented.

Many of these children could even possibly be descendants of ancestors who migrated in and around the borders for many years. The Americas should always be home to the “huddled masses longing to be free.”

We (America) were once a beacon of love and hope to the world. Now we are seeking to slam our doors in the face of innocent children. What in the world happened? I’ll tell you what happened. Politics happened and the innocents are being swallowed up on the melee.

There has to be a compassionate as well as practical way of maintaining our borders. We just need to put the brakes on political strife and unite to save the children. Let’s remember that these are human beings we’re considering.

Today mammon, entitlement and politics are causing too many Americans to be cold and heartless. Not only to these innocent children seeking sanctuary within our borders. Hearts are also cold to the babies in the womb, to the school drop outs, to the sadly incarcerated, to the weak, the sick, the hungry… Need I go on?

There should be funding across the isles for assistance to all youth and children; mentoring programs, family assistance programs. Funding without the usual political entanglements. Human beings need genuine compassion and help.

As I wrote in my new book, KING RULES, (Rule No. 7: Care for the Needy):

“In our family, we care for the “least of these.” We feed the hungry, clothe the sick, visit those in prison, and we do all that we can as servant leaders to serve God and minister to his people. Of course, from generation to generation, our methods of ministry have varied, and yet we still care about the poor the sick, the hungry, and the downtrodden.”

Where will we get the funding to help those in need? Instead of the government spending millions of dollars to pass legislation such as the HHS Mandate that manipulates and threatens women’s physical and emotional health by forcing insurance companies and employers to provide harmful chemical and surgical products to women; the government should be about the business of defunding America’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood and redirecting those bountiful funds towards saving lives rather than killing babies and injuring women.

Just think about it. Carcinogenic birth control can be as cheap as $9 a month. If women desire such products, many women can obtain $9 a month on their own without having to bear the burden of political haranguing and manipulations over dubious methods of birth control that are linked to breast and cervical cancer, strokes, heart attacks and other problems. Women are not lab rats. We deserve better than a plight of being experimented on in the name of health care.

Let’s face it; carcinogenic birth control is not health care. Neither is abortion. Both are linked to sickness and death. They are the face of the real war on women.

So why is our government pushing the HHS Mandate while allowing innocent children to gather on our borders? They are hoping that women are dumb sheep, fooled by the slick marketing of sex peddlers.

Sen. Ted Cruz helping at the border

Sen. Ted Cruz helping at the border

I call for an awakening of women power. The power to choose life over death. The power to nurture the next and future generations.

The millions of dollars the government is spending to strong arm this Obamacare HHS contraceptive mandate down unsuspecting women’s throats could be used to feed, clothe and provide REAL healthcare to these children; at home and abroad. The money would be better spent on stabilizing the economy and elevating the quality of life for men, women and children.

It’s ludicrous to put the management of the desire of people to engage in sexual activity over the welfare of innocent starving children. Not just these immigrant children but also our American children right here in our own communities.

Let love, truth and compassion arise!

Visit rights50.com today – Free the Babies

140702 blog image

Fifty years ago LBJ signed the US Civil Rights Bill into law. Yet babies and women are dying today from the torture and abuse of abortion and abortifacients.

While President Johnson is credited with the passage of the 50 year old legislation celebrated today, it was Conservative Congressman Bill McCullough who accomplished the feat of uniting political parties to pass the bill.

I mention this historical note during the height of the turning tide that the Hobby Lobby victory represents. On the non-profit front, we at PFL are awaiting a decision in our complaint against the unjust HHS mandate.

Below, please read excerpts from the interesting commentary from my friend Nina May, film producer and founder of Renaissance Women.

(Warning: Entering intelligent rant zone!)

Hillary & the Dems Need stupid Women to Win Elections By Nina May . . . a woman who can read and think for herself

…The “smartest woman in the world”, Hillary Clinton, says “It is very troubling that a sales clerk who needs contraception, which is pretty expensive, is not going to get [it] through her employer’s health care plan because her employer does not think she should be using contraception.” She was referring to the recent Supreme Court ruling on Hobby Lobby. And all the other women in the audience, who were clueless about the substance of the ruling, clapped enthusiastically as she lied through her teeth.

…She mentions the expense of birth control . . . while neglecting to mention that 16 of these contraceptions would still be available to these women on the existing plan. But, just for arguments sake, you can get a month supply of birth control for $9. That is less than the increase in gas prices over the past few months. Why isn’t she screaming about that and demanding that Obama do something to save these women on fixed incomes from having to pay more for their gas? But, if birth control is a right, why isn’t she demanding that they get their gas free as a right?

What if a privately held company opposed the practice of genital mutilation and said the government could not force them to pay for it for their employees…

Why can’t pro-life people… owners and employers of a company, express… outrage at the killing of an unborn baby?

Since 50 percent of babies aborted are women, not only are their genitals mutilated, the entire body is.

Isn’t that an appropriate cause for outrage rather than the vilification that is being injected by Clinton, Ginsberg and other clueless women who worship at the alter of abortion?

Every time the issue of life . . . or abortion . . . is raised it is as though a button is pushed in the cosmos and liberal women just go nuts. It is the most sacred aspect of their political and philosophical belief system and to touch it is considered a blasphemy. What is it with them and killing unborn babies that is so precious? It defies logic…

These selfish women …drag their …children to pro-abortion rallies …telling their children that they regret that they did not make that choice when they had the chance. Do they really think kids don’t get the hypocrisy? “Oh, I love you now, but there was a point in your tiny life when I considered you less than human and potentially disposable, and I want every woman in the world to have the right to feel that same thing.”

There is a correlation between the increased rate of suicide, drug use, violence and murder and “mothers” who have implanted in their offspring the idea that at one point in their lives they were expendable and disposable…

…It is a head scratcher, that in this day and age, with all the technology available, with tiny preemie babies as young as five months being saved by every possible means, that you people still think it is ok to deliver a full term baby in a breach position . . . which is life threatening to the mom . . . poke it in the base of the skull with scissors and suck its brains out…

I love the feminist who’s argument for abortion is . . . if you are against abortion don’t have one. Ok, that’s fair, then if you don’t like guns, don’t buy one. Let’s make a deal . . . we’ll ban guns if you ban abortion. Crickets…

…Now is the time to unseat the red queen and find a truly intelligent woman who is worthy to lead.

…Yes Hillary . . . it does make a lot of difference, and we do care… Not all women are as stupid as you think.

HHS Mandate Offense Hits Home in a Personal Way

Wednesday, December 11th, 2013

131211 blog image

Yesterday was International Human Rights Day, and yet Priests for Life is embroiled in a legal battle to end a serious infraction against the human rights of women and babies. The Priests for Life HHS Mandate lawsuit which includes plaintiffs Fr. Frank Pavone, Janet Morana, and myself is timely, and it’s necessary. The Mandate is personally offensive because my own constitutional rights are being violated. It’s unfair to require that PFL, the company that I work for pay into a program that will subsidize abortion, easy access to abortion, as well as harmful chemical contraceptives and surgical contraceptive procedures.

I personally am a victim of Planned Parenthood and abortion. I was tricked. I believed the propaganda through Planned Parenthood that a baby was just a blob of tissue and that it was the safest procedure for a woman, even safer than giving birth. When I was a young woman I believed that.

I also believed that it was a woman’s right to choose what she does with her own body and I still believe that. But I know now, today, that the baby is not her body.

And so I ended up with severe medical conditions based upon the abortions and the harmful contraceptive process that I partook of during my younger years. I have experiences a condition called phlebitis which involves blood clotting from the hormonal manipulations of the birth control process. And I had problems with my breasts, or mammary system based upon complications of the abortions and contraceptives as well. Which is why it is so offensive to inadvertently face being forced to end up paying into an insurance program that can harm other women. It is very stressful to me, very disturbing to me, very offensive to me.

Co-defendants Fr. Frank Pavone and Janet Morana were in District Court in Washington, DC yesterday for a hearing on our case. We are now awaiting a ruling from the judge. Shannon Bream of Fox News Channel covered the hearing and her report ran on Special Report with Bret Baier. Click HERE to watch and read the report.

We know that this horrible HHS Mandate is an enemy to the human rights of all Americans and indeed all human beings. As my colleague Bryan Kemper said:

“Today, Dec 10th, is International Human Rights Day. If you support the systematic slaughter of innocent human persons in their mother’s womb then you have no right celebrating this day. Human rights are not something a court or governing body has the right to arbitrarily give and take away, they are endowed upon us by our creator. To take part in human rights day, you must stand against the holocaust that is filling the streets of our world with the blood of the most vulnerable and innocent humans of all: our pre-born human children.”

Finally, I agree with my colleague and co-plaintiff Janet Morana, who along with Father Pavone demands that we RECALL ABORTION and say no to the HHS Mandate.
