Gosnell Is One Of A Kind?

Wednesday, May 1st, 2013

Flush It

That’s what abortion proponents are saying, that “Gosnell is one of a kind” and that’s what they want you to think.

At first the abortion lobby was all too content to keep any information regarding late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s murder trial out of the public arena. And now that news agencies are beginning to report on the case, they are all too eager to speak to the media to spin their deceitful lies and display their pseudo concern for the real victims, the mothers and babies.

In a recent Reuters article, Eric Ferrero, a spokesman for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America said that “Gosnell ran a criminal enterprise, not a healthcare facility, and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.”

What Ferrero fails to mention is that the local Planned Parenthood of Southwest Pennsylvania knew about the problems at the Gosnell clinic because women would go to Planned Parenthood after visiting Gosnell and complain about the condition there as reported by LifeNews.

Ilyse Hogue, the president of NARAL Pro-Choice America said, “This is a peek into the back-alley days, the pre-Roe v. Wade days. It’s what too many women experienced when we didn’t provide access to safe and clean abortion services,” Hogue said, referring to the landmark Supreme Court ruling in 1973 that struck down state laws restricting abortion.

The only problem with Houge’s logic is that it is happing now, in 2013, 40 years after Roe v. Wade was passed and abortions are now supposed to be safe and rare, neither of which is true.

A newly published article by Operation Rescue chronicles “four 911 calls placed from a single Planned Parenthood in Orange, California, three of which were made on the same day, seeking emergency transport for patients suffering complications from an abortion and one employee experiencing chest pain.” (Complete with video)

And let’s not forget the Planned Parenthood in Chicago late last year that let a patient, Tonya Reaves, bleed for 5 hours before calling for an ambulance and transporting her to a hospital where she later died. Prior to her death, the hospital also had to perform another abortion because Planned Parenthood failed to remove the baby completely during their initial procedure.

Earlier this year late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart killed Jennifer Morbelli who went in for what she thought was a safe abortion. She ended up dead because Carhart’s abortion clinic tells their patients not to go to an emergency room if they experience complications during the two day procedure or after the abortion. And the number they are given for an emergency is for a horse farm, another business that Carhart owns. And furthermore, Jennifer is not the first patient Carhart has killed.

These are but a few of the horror stories you can find by doing a simple Google search on botched abortions.

No, abortions are not safe, nor are they rare; and the fact that Gosnell took action to make sure the babies did die if they survived the procedure is also not rare. The only thing that is rare is that he got caught.

Many in the abortion industry espouse that if the baby was supposed to die during the abortion procedure then it’s perfectly fine if the baby is killed or allowed to die after he/she survives the procedure. That is straight from the mouth of Planned Parenthood lobbyist Alisa LaPolt Snow who was testifying against born-alive infants protection act in Florida. Cecile Richards never spoke out about Snow’s comments. Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates did release a statement attempting to clarify their position stating that they “would provide “appropriate care” to both the woman and the infant.” But who knows what “appropriate care” means? Let’s see what it means to two other abortion facilities.

LiveAction.org just recently released two undercover videos that show two abortion facilities telling an undercover pregnant mother what they would do if the baby was born alive after an attempted abortion.

One said they would do nothing to help the baby survive which is in violation of the federal Born Alive Infant s Protection Act. The other went as far as to tell the woman that if the baby was born alive at home that she should “flush it” [down the toilet.]

Gosnell’s is certainly not the only one. He’s not an outlier. He’s not unusual in the abortion industry.

He’s just the only one with high visibility who’s been caught and prosecuted thus far. There is documentation of so many others. What will happen to them remains to be seen. Will government agencies continue to ignore the warning signs? Will they continue to ignore laws that are already in place in many states? Will they refuse to enforce inspection requirements?

Another contention being advocated by the abortion industry is that if we only had fewer restrictions women wouldn’t have to turn to someone like Gosnell. Other than the fact that that’s an absurd notion on its face, the abortion industry is already pretty much self-regulated. The situation with Gosnell occurred because the laws were not enforced and Gosnell was left to self-regulate himself.

Women went to Gosnell because he was known to do abortions past the legal limit. Women were referred to him by other abortion providers because they knew this. What Planned Parenthood and others would have us believe is that if they lifted the gestation limit on abortion to say 35 weeks 6 days then everything would be fine.

I think President Obama said it best when he said, [and I’m paraphrasing here], we’d still be thinking about tens of thousands of people, women, children, who’ve been killed by a regime that’s more concerned about staying in power than it is about the well-being of the people. This is from his press conference on April 30, 2013 and he was talking about Syria and whether they had used chemical weapons or not. But he needs to have similar sentiments about Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry except he would have had to change the word “thousands” to “millions.”

Liberals are wondering…

Thursday, April 25th, 2013

obama_planned_parenthood-460x180

I had a phone call this week from a very agitated African American leader from the liberal community who asked me, “What are you pro-lifers going to do about President Obama speaking for Planned Parenthood in the middle of the Gosnell trial?”

Now we know that the latest developments say that the Gosnell defense rested. We also know that President Obama is not going to speak at the big Fundraising Gala on Thursday night but will instead speak at a lesser event on Friday morning. Those things have unfolded.

But as to what is now being defined as the growing “mushy middle” we’re finding that some liberals and some conservatives are having the same questions.

I read a USA Today article recently and then I read the comments and it seemed that members of the liberal community and conservative community are asking those same questions in that USA Today article.

I think it’s very interesting that sometimes when peripherals collide, convergence is eminent.

So the issue of President Obama’s support of Planned Parenthood can be a peripheral issue for many but some of us, regardless of what camp we are considered to be in; many are asking the same questions.

Okay, let’s continue to seek truth. Remember: Truth, Crushed to Earth, Shall Rise Again.

Dr. Alveda King Remembers the “Letter from a Birmingham Jail”

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

mlk-in-birmingham-jail

On this, the 50th anniversary of the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famous Letter from a Birmingham Jail, his niece, Dr. Alveda King, Director of African American Outreach for Priests for Life, says her uncle’s letter applies just as profoundly today to abortion as it did in 1963 to segregation.

Alveda is joined by Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life who today said: “Today, that letter still speaks. Just as it spoke in his day on behalf of those who suffered the violence of segregation, so now it speaks for those who suffer the violence of abortion.”

Alveda adds, “If Uncle M.L. were alive today, he would surely include the 21st century womb babies and their mothers in his “Letter from a Birmingham Jail.” The atrocity of abortion in America has killed millions of human babies who are often considered to be property, chattels, and less than human.

“In his 1963 letter, he wrote that segregation ‘ends up relegating persons to the status of things.’ Change ‘segregation’ to ‘abortion’ and you have the year 2013.

“Jim Crow laws gave us the continuing dehumanization of African Americans, beatings, lynchings, and the Ku Klux Klan. Roe v. Wade has given us the dehumanization of unborn and, now, born babies, skull crushings, spine snippings. Consider Kermit Gosnell in Philadelphia; the Planned Parenthood Chicago facility that killed Tonya Reaves; and all of the other hundreds of abortion providers and Planned Parenthood officials who can’t say whether fully born babies who survive abortions should be helped to live.

“In the Letter from a Birmingham Jail, Uncle M. L. noted that by their effort and example, early Christians ‘brought an end to such evils as infanticide’ in the Greco-Roman world. We now know, however, that the Greco-Roman world has been revived in abortion clinics across the land. Where the ancients would leave their unwanted babies to die of exposure, abortionists now leave their ‘mistakes’ to die in corners or closets – or worse.

My Uncle M.L. once wrote in 1953 that the most segregated hour in America is 11:00 am on Sunday because back then Blacks and Whites didn’t often worship together.

Fast forward to 2013, where minority mothers and our babies are targeted by abortion providers as the most vulnerable recipients of abortion in the name of women’s rights and solutions to poverty. Even Gosnell, whose defense lawyer said if women want Mayo Clinic standards they should go to Mayo Clinic, yes, even Gosnell’s House of Horrors had a slightly cleaner “White Only” surgical room, while Black women and their babies were butchered in a torture chamber in another section of the abortion mill. All the while, they all keep trying to hide the fact that all abortions are dangerous to a woman’s health, her baby’s life, and generally result in death and misery.

This all leads me to say that the most segregated place a woman can go today is an abortion mill! And no ludicrous references to a 1966 deceptive Planned Parenthood Award offered to MLK and accepted by his wife, not him, is going to trick people into believing that my uncle would condone slaughtering babies and damaging their mothers in the name of justice.

“Uncle M. L. even once asked: ‘How does one determine whether a law is just or unjust? A just law is a man-made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. To put it in the terms of St. Thomas Aquinas: ‘An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“The Reverend King was a man of God and a preacher of the Word. He sought a peace that was not just the absence of tension, but the presence of justice. He would agree that there can be no real peace in a society that tolerates injustice. He would most certainly agree that the taking of innocent lives is a horrible injustice. There is no doubt that just as my Uncle M.L. called America’s clergy to awaken 50 years ago to the moral transgression of segregation, he would today sound out a call for a moral awakening and urge all Americans and indeed all human beings around the world today to awaken to the grievous wrong of abortion, and the subsequent devastation of natural marriage and family.”

Appropriate Care: What’s In A Word?

Wednesday, April 10th, 2013

ambulance_pp-240x221
I always tell my children that it’s very important to choose your words wisely because language is very important. The use of a certain word instead of a different word can send someone a very different message or leave some message open for interpretation.

A recent video that went viral this past week has a Planned Parenthood lobbyist, Alisa LaPolt Snow, advocating for post-birth abortion. When asked by Chairman Boyd: “So, um, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief. If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”

Miss Snow [answered] (PP): “Um, well, we believe that any decision is made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician.”

She did not choose her words wisely because it sent the Florida lawmakers into disbelief at Planned Parenthood’s stance of the care that should be given to a child that is born alive after a botched abortion; or did she, which would make the Florida lawmaker’s shock and disbelief an appropriate response.

After this video went viral, outraged pro-lifers called for Planned Parenthood to condemn Miss Snow’s comments. Planned Parenthood’s response? “. . . of course Planned Parenthood would provide appropriate care to both the woman and the infant.”

“Appropriate care?” Again, words chosen very carefully I’m sure. A few seconds earlier, “appropriate care” was trying to kill the infant. And now, seconds later, with a live baby on the table, with both the doctor and the mother wanting (and wishing) that that baby was dead, we’re supposed to want the baby to receive “appropriate care” from this doctor? The mother, for whatever reasons she sought out the abortion in the first place, and the doctor, because he botched the abortion and didn’t do his ‘job’ right, should not be trusted with this baby’s life.

Why didn’t Planned Parenthood’s statement say “. . . of course Planned Parenthood would do everything to ensure the survival of the baby.”

Words – they are very important and telling.

Abortion Movement Exposes Its Heart of Darkness

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: April 4, 2013

STATEN ISLAND, NY — Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, released the following statement as the trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell continued to unfold in Philadelphia this week:

“The trial of abortionist Gosnell takes place while additional events show us how destructive the abortion movement is and how compassionate the pro-life movement is.

“During these days, a lobbyist from Planned Parenthood said it was up to the woman, her family and her physician whether a baby born alive after a failed abortion should be allowed to live. Also, this Friday, April 5, a mass and banquet will be held in Philadelphia to honor two families — that of Terri Schiavo and of Baby Joseph — both of whom were born victims of the Culture of Death that deprived them of ordinary care because they were disabled.

“By contrast, in these days, pregnancy center directors from across the nation gather in Dallas to increase their knowledge and skills in serving moms, dads, and families who fear they have no alternative but abortion. The conference of Heartbeat International will reaffirm these individuals in their life-giving mission.

“If America pays attention in these days, it will see a contrast worth noting, and a modern-day illustration of the age-old choice before us all: I have set before you life and blessings, death and curses. Choose life!”

Remembering Uncle M. L.: Alveda King reflects on the death of the Dreamer

Thursday, April 4th, 2013

MLK Collage

Forty-five years ago today, my Uncle M.L., the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. was murdered by an assassin’s bullet. Sometimes I wonder what life would be like if that shot had never been fired; what our nation would be like if that bullet had missed. Many are the times I wish he were here.

But though Uncle M.L. is no longer with us on earth, his voice lives on in the words he used to change our nation in the cause of justice.

We are a more just society today because of Martin Luther King, Jr. Not because he brought new ideas into the public consciousness, but because he reminded us of fundamental, eternal truths – truths that needed to be restated and lived out. He once asked and answered this question: “How does one determine whether a law is just or unjust?” He went on to explain:

“A just law is a man-made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. To put it in the terms of St. Thomas Aquinas: ‘An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

These timeless truths must be restated again today.

Remember Reverend Martin Luther King – let us not forget that he was an ordained Baptist minister and preacher of the Word of God – taught that we are to respect the law. But he also taught that there is a law higher than man’s. There are no commands more deserving of obedience than God’s.

Those commands caused Uncle M. L. to look beyond city ordinances, state statutes, or even federal law for guidance. He believed that those ordinances, statutes, and laws were to be respected, but that they were to be weighed against God’s law or what some would term natural law to determine if they were just.

The same is true today. But some still look to themselves to determine right and wrong.

We are told by the Obama administration that it is “unjust” that women should have to buy their own birth control pills, so everyone else must reach into their pockets to pay for them.

We are told by abortion advocates that it is “unjust” that some women cannot afford to abort their babies, so tax dollars must be used to finance the killing of those children.

We are told by same-sex “marriage” advocates that it is “unjust” that men cannot marry other men and women cannot marry other women, so 2,000 years of wisdom must be abandoned.

And yet, the Bible tells us that human life is sacred. We are thereby to choose life over abortion. The Bible teaches us that natural marriage between one man and one woman is part of the procreative process. We are thereby compelled to choose holy and procreative matrimony.

In forgetting our heritage, in distancing ourselves from God’s moral rules, we are doing Uncle M. L. a disservice, and we are in danger of coming face to face with disaster. So, in remembering Uncle M. L. today, I urge America and the world to remember that he was a servant of God who, though imperfect, tried to point people to the truth.

Lukewarm Promises: Prolife claims are big during election, cool off when time to deliver

Tuesday, March 19th, 2013

130319 blog image

I joined my good friend Catherine Davis a few days ago for a day of “Women at the Capitol” here in Georgia to visit the Governor to ask him to enforce the laws of Georgia which are designed to protect women. Catherine was joined by a group of about 100 concerned citizens, men and women, who are adamant about “Women taking back Choice” which included having Georgia’s abortion mills comply with minimal health standards that will protect our women.

s Day of Mourning 014When Catherine and I went in to ask to speak to the Governor, Nathan Deal, we were told that he couldn’t see us, and asked to fill out a request form to see him at a later date. However, the Governor was “at home” to several other visitors during the day. An aide did finally speak with Catherine and other members of her group later in the day to explain that the Governor “doesn’t do investigations.” Now bear in mind that we didn’t ask the Governor to investigate anything, we just asked him to uphold the laws that he is sworn to uphold. We didn’t ask him to write any legislation, pass any bills or mount any investigations. We just wanted to ask Governor Deal to help the women of Georgia. No good old southern hospitality was offered that day, only a few bags of peanuts were offered, while we watched other perhaps nonthreatening groups be allowed to receive a smile from the Governor.

We find that these scenarios are playing out across the country. Alabama, Mississippi, for instance, and several states have passed promising protection laws for women and babies, but the enforcement and investigation process is being held up in many cases. All across the country, politicians are running on prolife platforms, then even when prolife legislation is passed, governors, state licensing and health boards and other less visible sources are blocking real progress by failing to either enforce or investigate compliance requirements for the abortion industry to come up to even substandard levels of care for women who are being maimed, butchered and sometimes killed in the name of abortion.

There is a lot of word play going on, like with the Governor’s office. We asked for enforcement and were told that he doesn’t investigate. They know what we mean and what we need, but aren’t trying to help us, and maybe are hoping that we don’t come up with just the right “code” to get the answers that will help us.

This isn’t about the current governor of Georgia or any other single politician, because as Catherine and I discovered when another administration was in power, many states don’t really intend to help women. They just want to say and do enough to continue to elect acceptable candidates who can allow the abortion industry to continue to do business as usual. As far as the other administration was concerned, the then Speaker of the House was heard saying in a closed meeting” “We can’t really end abortion. That will leave too many black babies on the dole.” Sounds Nixonish doesn’t it?

Catherine, Day Gardner and I did a Black History Month expose on Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards and then President Nixon saying about the same thing, of course in a more crude language. President Nixon was lauding the efforts of the population control community to “kill the little Black b*!@–.” Cecile Richards applauded Mr. Nixon and even went so far to say that the Republican Party should go back to those “roots” which would mean that they would join the Democrat Party in enforcing and funding abortion at every level.

Let’s not be fooled, and let’s not throw in the towel. The battle is still raging. Let’s see this thing through. May God please help us to rip off all the blinders and let our women be healed and our babies see the light!

Abortion: Nothing Is Sacred, Not Even Grandmothers

Monday, March 18th, 2013

SPACER
I’m a grandmother too and I can only imagine what was going through her mind when Rae Stabosz was attacked by a woman while filming a botched abortion incident.

The abortion industry will go to any lengths to keep the public from learning the truth about what really happens behind the doors of the abortion killing centers. There are times when the babies are not the only ones that are hurt by these “doctors.” And it happens more often that you think.

If any other business had this track records with hurting women, they would be shut down in a heartbeat. It makes you wonder how they get away with it.

Cecile Richards of Planned Parenthood Praises Richard Nixon’s Progressive Idea of Family Planning to Abort ‘Little Black Bastards’ During ‘Age of Enlightenment’

WASHINGTON, Feb. 27, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ — Cecile Richards, head of notorious abortion provider, Planned Parenthood celebrates President Richard Nixon who supported aborting black babies, calling them “little black bastards.”

Outraged black leaders launched a video that includes statements made by Richards exposing the racial impetus of Richard Nixon’s and Planned Parenthood’s mission.

Video link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXap-OtDvVc

“2013 marks the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, 50th anniversary of MLK’s I have a dream speech, yet we find blacks are still shackled, supporting an organization that considers aborting ‘little black bastards’ an age of enlightenment,” said Dr. Alveda King, Director of African American Outreach for Priests for Life, referring to a comment made by Cecile Richards.

“For years Planned Parenthood has denied its founder’s Negro Project was aimed at controlling the black birth rate. On November 7, 2012 Cecile Richards finally took the shroud off their secret. In light of this revelation, we call on the Congress to defund Planned Parenthood, one of America’s last bastions of racism,” said Catherine Davis.

“Cecile Richards and Planned Parenthood openly support a racist agenda. Cecile poured accolades on Richard Nixon — a man who spoke arrogantly about abortion being used to kill off what he called ‘the little black bastards,’ said Day Gardner. “Richard Nixon was an ignorant, racist, foul-mouthed crook. The fact that Planned Parenthood’s president has the nerve to put Nixon on a pedestal for killing children proves what we have been saying all along. Planned Parenthood’s business model is exactly the same as when Margaret Sanger launched the hellish Negro Project in 1939,” said Gardner.

“What’s so bad about all of this is that some black organizations, such as the NAACP, are in bed with Planned Parenthood; promoting a false gospel; sacrificing our babies, our sons and our daughters on the altar of abortion while promoting the lie that contraceptives and abortion are somehow good for our communities. They are prostituting our culture and this flies in the face of God,” said Alveda King.

“Cecile Richards is wrong, dead wrong! The Nixon era was not an age of enlightenment but rather an age of sleazy back room deals, lies, confusion, scandal and racism…an age that ushered in a wave of brutal dismemberment and torture culminating in the deaths of more than 55 million babies…17 million ‘little black bastards’ DEAD — according to Cecile Richard’s idol.” concluded Gardner.

National Black Prolife Coalition (NBPC) Attacked for Fighting to Save Black Babies

Monday, February 25th, 2013

Klan Parenthood

Philadelphia’s Tara Murtha’s article entitled “Propaganda Film Exploits Gosnell Tragedy to Promote Conspiracy Theory” misleads people and promotes the continuation of the same old abortion practices that allowed the Gosnells of the world to continue to hurt women and kill babies.

With the use of such slanted language like “propaganda, ” “anti-choice,” and “conspiracy theory” Ms. Murtha’s clearly shows herself to be a mouthpiece for the abortion industry.

In the article she echoes Planned Parenthood’s misleading claim that “abortion only represents three percent of Planned Parenthood’s services.” A claim that they make because of, among other things, “unbundling” of services related to abortion. A practice whereby they see a patient over a couple of days for an abortion and they classify some of the services like the pregnancy test, or the initial exam as not part of the abortion but list it under other services. Whatever the percentage of their business that they count as abortion services, they are leading the charge to legally murder over 55 million babies to date. Add this to the fact that they performed a record number of abortions as reported in their 2012 annual report, 333,964, percentages don’t really mean a lot.

Another statement made by Ms. Murtha clearly showed that she is not really concerned about the facts. She states that “Right Wing Watch took notice of the group [NBPC] for posting billboard campaigns in Atlanta with slogans like, “Abortion Makes Three-Fifths Human Seem Overly Generous.” A fact which is disputed by Ryan Bomberger in a comment he left where he states, “Not that frothing liberal sources like Right Wing Watch ever bother to check the facts, the Atlanta “Juneteenth” billboard campaign wasn’t even sponsored by the National Black Prolife Coalition. It was solely created and launched by The Radiance Foundation. But it’s not accuracy you seek, simply animosity.”

With regards to “conspiracy theory,” the numbers don’t lie. Blacks make up about 12 percent of the population yet account for about 35 percent of the abortions in this country. Approximately 79 percent of Planned Parenthood clinics are located in minority neighborhoods. In New York about 60 percent of black babies are aborted. More black babies are aborted than are born alive. That’s a result of a group being targeted for elimination, not conspiracy theory. That’s GENOCIDE! Clear and simple!
