My reaction to Bill O’Reilly’s comments on race problem on America Live

I can’t believe I am agreeing with President Obama and Bill O’Reilly on the same blog but in this situation they both said something I agree with.

For the record, while I don’t agree with many of President Obama’s policies, such as his support of rabid Planned Parenthood, I do agree that it is past time for the “racism conversation.” On the other hand, although I also don’t always agree with everything that Mr. O’Reilly says, I do agree that we need to strengthen the American family which also includes the African American family.

Of course the conversation regarding racism needs to include dialogue that we are all one race, one human race, created of one blood. (see Acts 17:26) My famous uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said “we must learn to live together as brothers (and sisters) or perish as fools.” If we are one race with varying ethnic distinctions, then we can stop fighting and exercise brotherly and sisterly, “humanly” love.

We also need to understand that racism stems from hatred, not love. Racism is evil personified. We must work hard to overcome evil with good. God is love and God is good, so we can overcome racism with agape love. We must pray now for transformation of human hearts and replace the hatred with the love of Christ. Again, God is Love.

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8 (NIV)

So, we need to bring people closer to God if we are to minimize racism.

As for strengthening the African American family and indeed the human family, we as parents, yes parents, plural, need to teach our children and grandchildren how to live moral, righteous lives. Of course parents, men and women, mothers and fathers are created equal but are assigned different life roles. So as parents, each has a role to play in the raising of our children. Statistics have shown that children raised in single-parent households have a higher poverty rate, more criminal behavior, higher unemployment, higher school dropout rate. This is why the sanctity of life and the sanctity of natural marriage are both so very important and interrelated.

Each parent, the mother or father, has different things to teach their children. Things that are important for the well-being of the children.

Does that mean that there aren’t times when single-parent households will occur? No, sometimes they occur due to death, or spousal abuse, or lack of moral instruction or understanding, or a number of other reasons. Yet they should not occur so frequently that they become the norm.

“Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.” ESV 2001

Please allow me to share a story from Naturally Moi of a child star who has shared an inspiring testimony that can serve as a roadmap for our young women.

In the midst of all of the controversy regarding Trayvon Martin, the Texas sanctity of life battle, and so many other boiler point issues, it is so very refreshing to hear this testimony from one of my favorite television childhood personalities.

Tamera Mowry-Housley who once starred in the popular Sister Sister TV series with her twin sister Tia but recently surprised her co-stars and fans by revealing she has only had sex with one person in her life.
Mowry recently told her The Real panel members that she didn’t lose her virginity six years ago when she was 29-years-old.

“I don’t know how to explain this. I’m religious, so I waited until I was 29 to lose my virginity,” she insisted.

She also explained that she regretted losing her virginity before marriage so much that she decided to wait until she married three years later to engage in sexual intercourse again.

“You may not understand this but I did it (had sex). Then I became celibate until I got married.”
In 2011, Tamera married Fox News Correspondent Adam Housley after they had dated for almost six years.

Before Housley, the Sister Sister star dated Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.

Last November, Mowry and Adam had their first son, Aden.

While Tamera considers herself to be religious and conservative, she says that she’s “far from boring in the bedroom.”

Tamera’s perspective is one that far too many young people are missing these days, saving exciting sex for the marriage bed. Such a plan could lead to far less heartbreak, STDS and abortions.

“42″ Stirs the Heart and the Conscience

Friday, April 19th, 2013

three headed monster

While I’m often accused of finding Pro-Life messages behind every tree, it can’t be denied that “42″ brings an inherent message of courage, compassion and composure that prevailed in the lives of Jackie and Rae Robinson as well as Dodgers Manager Branch Rickey. These same principles are needed so much in the ongoing heated moral debates of our time.

While the skin color/racism devil is somewhat subdued today, it still rears its ugly head. Then we are also contending with moral questions surrounding the sanctity of natural life and marriage. This “three headed monster” of racism, anti-procreative liberty and sexual perversion has crept into our lives with the intent of leading us further astray.

This is why the movie 42 is so inspiring; and the themes of racial unity, nonviolence, marital fidelity and Christianity are so very refreshing. They apply to our present day struggles; while they stir our hearts and rouse our conscience.

Today, we are fraught with unjust laws such as legal abortion – the killing of human babies in the womb. Where is the justice for the babies?

Uncle M. L., Jackie and Rae Robinson and Branch Rickey challenged the immoral unwritten laws of their day. We cannot afford to do less in Century 21. Uncle M. L. once said “a just law squares with the law of God.”

God’s Word is God’s law. The Bible charges us to love each other, and that law transcends human efforts to redesign God’s plan for continuity.

Jackie Robinson left the Dodgers the year after Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat in Montgomery. Yet that wasn’t the end of the baseball great’s mission to advance civil rights. He became a statesman and defender of my uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I know that Robinson was a super ball player and Rickey was a phenomenal businessman. But they were so much more than that. They dealt with the human issues if their day.

The movie 42 has heart. We could all learn a lot from their examples of courage, composure and compassion.

Alveda King and Black Leaders: ‘Gosnell Attorney Playing the Race Card is Outrageous and Shameful’

The defense attorney for Kermit Gosnell, the Philadelphia abortionist whose killing center earned the title “Gosnell’s House of Horrors” has tried to reduce Gosnell’s charges to “prosecutorial lynching.”

This strategy is an insult to the babies he slaughtered, the women he maimed and killed, the African Community at large and the human race, say African American leaders.

In his opening arguments Jack McMahon called the case “elitist” and “racist,” and charged the trail is coming from prosecutors trying to “put Mayo clinic standards into a West Philadelphia clinic.” Members of the Black Prolife Coalition believe it is Gosnell who is elitist and definitely racist.

“Don’t Black women and babies deserve Mayo Clinic standards?” said Dr. Alveda King, Director of African American Outreach for Priests for Life. “You sir, are being elitist and racist to suggest that we do not. We reject the notion that the black and brown women Gosnell preyed upon deserved less. Your tactics are shameful, outrageous and an affront in the face of God,” said Dr. King.

“Throughout the Holocaust Josef Mengele aka ‘the angel of death’ delighted in killing young children in the most atrocious and gruesome experiments — all in the name of science,” said Day Gardner, President of the National Black Pro-Life Union. “Kermit Gosnell, is the Black community’s Mengele because he especially preyed on children of his own race who were fully born — totally free to experience the life and liberty that we are all promised in America. Yet, at that moment of new life — the child in warm hands, breathing air, seeing first light, may have also seen the face of his or her executioner. The only factor of ‘race’ is that Gosnell killed these children because he could. He thought no one would really care — after all, it’s just one more Black child — dead in Philadelphia,” Gardner said.

“Selling out the Black community in the name of abortion rights is unconscionable,” said Catherine Davis, Founder and President of the Restoration Project. “But, Gosnell’s attorney has taken this betrayal to a new low by claiming Gosnell should not be prosecuted because he is black. While “women kept being referred to and coming to his clinic because they could get what they needed at the right price,” the right price made Gosnell a millionaire while he was butchering women and babies in the name of abortion. I say he should be prosecuted and held accountable for the injuries and deaths of those he is now claiming to have served and his race makes this betrayal all the more difficult to stomach.”

Not only is Dr. Kermit Gosnell documented as a depraved butcher, he is a depraved butcher who made money on the desperation and despair of women from his own community. Even the Klu Klux Klan treated their own women better,” said Walter Hoye, founder of the Issues4Life Foundation.

The leaders are spearheading investigations, calling for enforcement of life saving laws for women and children, and are advocating information campaigns as to the harmful impact of eugenics and genocide in the Black community.

King, Gardner, Davis and Hoye are all members of the well known National Black Prolife Coalition. Their book LIFE AT ALL COSTS is a thoughtful and well researched account of the issues of life and family that are impacting the Black community.

Big Tax Bucks Linked to Abortion Deaths Glaring in the Light of the Tonya Reaves Lawsuits

Tuesday, January 8th, 2013

130108 blog image

Last summer, the National Black Prolife Coalition was among the first and most outraged groups to demand justice for the death of Tonya Reaves, a young Black woman killed by abortion in Chicago. For years, women who have been harmed by abortion have been crying out that “abortion hurts women!” Janet Morana is right to lead the crusade to RECALL ABORTION. As we somberly yet purposefully approach the 40 year landmine of the anniversary of Roe VS Wade, let us make no mistake about it. We are ready to continue this battle for LIFE AT ALL COSTS.

Yesterday Operation Rescue wrote an article stating that a second lawsuit had been filed against Planned Parenthood in the death of Tonya Reaves. Again, Tonya Reaves was a 24 year-old woman who went to Planned Parenthood for an abortion which they botched. She was then left bleeding for five hours before an ambulance was called. She was rushed to the hospital where they discovered that the abortion performed by Planned Parenthood was incomplete and she had to undergo another abortion in the hospital to remove the remainder of the baby. But it was too late and Tonya Reaves died later that evening in the hospital.

The first wrongful death lawsuit against Planned Parenthood was filed by Tonya’s family. The second lawsuit was filed on behalf of Tonya’s surviving son, Alvin, by his father. Tonya and her baby died, leaving young Alvin motherless.

Some people will not understand that along with the injustice of Planned Parenthood killing Tonya, another injustice occurred. They killed her baby in her womb as well. So how do we express to Tonya’s family in a loving way that two people died that day?

Because of lack of coverage by much of the media, not too many people are even aware of Tonya’s murder. And despite efforts by the National Black Prolife Coalition through press releases to hold Planned Parenthood accountable, there seems to be an unusual amount of stall tactics where justice should prevail. One can’t help but remember the onslaught of outrage during the Trayon Martin tragedy? Where are all of those outraged Black leaders who were demanding swift justice for the tragic slaying of Trayvon?

Not only are the leaders of the NAACP and other Black voices such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson lacking in conversation surrounding the unjust death of Tonya. Absent also is the outrage over the death of Tonya’s baby and the other 3,699 babies that were killed that day in abortion mills throughout this country. And all the while, Planned Parenthood keeps laughing on the way to the bank while killing hundreds of thousands of babies every year, to the tune of over 50 million dead babies on record since 1973. What’s even worse is that where before 2012, Planned Parenthood was receiving $1 million dollars a day in U. S. tax dollars, yes, around $365 million dollars a year; in 2012 they received over $500 million dollars from our tax coffers. And they are still operating poorly regulated killing centers around this country. And in a few days, people will be observe the 40th commemoration of legal baby slaughter in America.

Yes, abortion is legal; but it shouldn’t be. Abortion is not civil. Abortion is not moral. Abortion hurts women, kills babies, and even kills women like Tonya and the countless others who have died from abortion and/or subsequent complications over the years. Coat hangers are the excuse they hang over the head of the dead babies and maimed women. But as is explained by recording artist Fred Hammond, many women never used a coat hanger even when abortion was illegal. They just had a “medical procedure” called a D&C for a “mysterious female ailment” which was really a baby in the mother’s/patient’s womb.

The abortion industry began saying that they wanted to make abortion legal, safe, and rare. They have successes in one, legal. Safe, not so. Ask Tonya. Rare? Is 54+ million rare?

As for rare, Planned Parenthood’s annual report just released for FY 2011-2012 (calendar year 2011) shows that abortions are not rare with a record number of abortions in 2011 with 333,964. Over the last three years (2009-2011) Planned Parenthood has performed nearly one million abortions (995,687)

As for safe, well, I think we’ve covered that. I would just like to mention that there have been over 345 reported deaths linked directly botched abortions. And that’s just the ones that we know of that have been attributed to the abortions and are documented. Many other deaths are attributed to other causes but are actually a result of abortion complications.

This outrage bears repeating over and over – despite the government’s saying that they do not pay for abortions, Planned Parenthood received a record $542 million in taxpayer funding last year. They can spin it any way they want to, but our tax dollars are funding murder by abortion and not just for babies. Their mothers are dying too. Women are being lied to; told that abortions are safe and are a civil right. And our babies are dying.

I’M OUTRAGED! WE ALL SHOULD BE OUTRAGED! RECALL ABORTION now!

Racism, Slavery, Sexual Immorality and Abortion

SPACER
Luke 4:18-19
The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Dr. Karen StevensonOur good friend Dr. Karen Stevenson, MD, a pro-life advocate, has written an insightful paper that confirms new views on the connection between racism, slavery, and abortion.

While studying the connection between abortion and slavery, one might wish to consider the research respectfully submitted by those who are determined to get to the bottom of the controversies and shed some light on the issue.

1. Excerpt from Utrum by Dr. Karen Stevenson

“As Kathleen Neal Cleaver states in her review of Dorothy Roberts’ book, Killing the Black Body: Race, Reproduction, and the meaning of Liberty, “Roberts learned the significance of reproductive autonomy not from the contemporary abortion movement but from studying the histories of slave women who fought to gain control over their lives.”[1] Any treatise that discusses black women and their reproductive freedoms must take into account the impact of these freedoms on the black community as a whole. Thus, any issue germane to African-American women is also crucial to the welfare of the African-American family and by extension, the African-American community.

Abortion benefits African-American women because it allows them to exercise control over their reproductive destinies.

Slave women in America did not have the right to self-determination, and they had no autonomy over their bodies in any way. The profit driven slave economy benefitted tremendously from their toil and their procreative abilities. The slave woman’s children were not her own, and by the whim of her master, they could be sold away from her, never to be seen again. In post Civil War America, there was no further need for black women to procreate. In fact, her ability to procreate no longer served the greater good.”

2. Excerpt from 2013 Message by Dr. Alveda King

“One can’t help but consider if disregard for the value of women and children is still at the root of abortion today. Consider this, many if not all of the women abolitionists should have been the forerunners of the Pro-Life Movement. Instead, we have a counterfeit “Women’s Rights Movement” which supports abortion and harmful contraceptive drugs today. Why in the world, how in the world could this be?

Remember, both women and men were allowed to be involved with the Anti-Slavery act. But, women could only go so far because they couldn’t vote, and many could not own property. Non-African Women and all slaves were actually considered to be chattel or property back then. So, it was hard for white and black women to be involved as abolitionists because white women were treated in very similar manner to African Americans, and most Black women were slaves. Unfortunately, the same thing was happening to the Native American Population. They were all considered to be chattels.

So the frustrated slave women often aborted their babies (Pure Breed and Mulatto) voluntarily as an act against sustaining future oppression. The Angry Caucasian Wives often coerced or forced abortion on their husband’s “Black Beauties” as a means of retaliation against their own brand of experienced oppression.

If you think about it, the same issues are at the heart of the Middle East Conflict. Sarah’s and Hagar’s sons are brothers with Abraham’s seed, yet their bitter battle still rages. My, what a bitter root of judgment in all these situations!

While many women who were abolitionists ended up becoming women rights activists, bitterness caused them to adopt a contraceptives agenda and finally an abortion agenda to exercise what they considered to be rights over their wombs. So now we have a war on babies and the wombs often led by women and men controlled by a desire for revenge and avarice.”

3. Excerpt from Slavery _____ Jealousy of the Slave Mistresses

“It is a fact generally observed in slave societies that the mistress is more cruel in her treatment of slaves than the master. It is a fact confirmed by our chronicles, our folklore, our oral tradition, and travelers. There are on record not two or three, but scores of cases of the cruelty of the senhoras de engenho toward defenseless slaves.”

2013 New Year’s Message by Alveda King

Monday, December 31st, 2012

2013 blog image

In preparing to navigate what may surely be the sometimes invigorating, sometimes dark and murky waters of 2013, let us prepare for war and peace, joy and challenge, love and forgiveness.

The year 2013 will mark several significant landmark anniversaries including 150 years since the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, 100 years since the formation of the Federal Reserve System, 50 years since the MLK I HAVE A DREAM SPEECH, and 40 years of legal abortion in America with the passage of Roe versus Wade. This will surely be a year of transition and there is a need for a deep spiritual awakening.

As we were nearing the end of the complex yet remarkable year of 2012, two anticipated movies emerged. While on the surface these two films appear to be polar opposites they actually have a lot in common. Both films address the atrocities and pending demise of slavery in America. The star studded LINCOLN film by cinematic genius Steven Spielberg garnered high ratings and surely pierced the coldest hearts frozen by the aegis of racism.

The second film, DJANGO by master of gratuitous violence Quentin Tarantino was shockingly offensive in its array of profanity, nudity and blood shedding violence, with popular Black actors Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson and groupie favorite Leonardo DeCaprio is one I generally would never grace the box office with money for a ticket, but surprisingly I’m glad my son offered to take me to see it.

I found LINCOLN to be remarkably refreshing even in the midst of the stoicism and what could have been just another boring historical anal in the tombs of media wannabes. Yet, it wasn’t. There was humor and there was insight, and I learned to love Mrs. Mary Todd Lincoln who has often been misunderstood by historians. This movie came just at the right time in history when a bridge between the disenfranchised of America in the horrible flesh peddling that landed in America in the 17th Century and what inhumanity continues to exist in the 21st Century.

How can this be you might ask? Well, one of the earlier American records of selling humans in exchange for goods and services is noted to have occurred in 1619 when John Rolfe noted in a letter to the Virginia Company Treasurer Edwin Sandys that trade of 20 African slaves would be available for food and supplies. These types of exchange occurred and lasted until the passage of the Slave Trade Act of 1807.

This effort was led by William Wilberforce, William Penn and other European abolitionists. They won the battle to end the sanctioned slave trade over the waters. This Act was followed by the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833, abolishing most legal slavery in the British Empire.

However, these actions in Europe didn’t end slavery in America, because slave owners came up with the brilliant idea, possibly aided by Willie Lynch, to inbreed slaves on American shores since the off shore flesh peddling was curtailed. Thank goodness that the American Abolitionist Movement, inspired by brothers’ and sisters’ success in Europe, was alive and well in America.

Thank God for the American Anti-Slavery Society which started in 1833. The white abolitionists and Black Freedom Fighters were the forerunners of what is known as the Pro-Life Movement of today. People like Susan B. Anthony, William Lloyd Garrison, Arthur Tappen, Lewis Tappen,‏ Fredrick Douglass, John Brown, Wendell Phillips, Lydia Maria Child, Henry Ward Beecher, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, Garrett Smith, Elizabeth Stanton, and they had a daughter named Elizabeth Smith, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Calvin Stow understood the sanctity of human existence and that all people were created equal.

Then too, President Lincoln had the courage to fight the battle and gave his life for the cause. The portrayal of Lincoln’s struggles and victories was duly portrayed in LINCOLN. I am grateful.

Now, DJANGO was more vulgar, in your face and disgustingly violent. But remember, so was slavery! For years I have been struggling with how to explain how much the slave masters lusted after the bodies of the Black and beautiful slave women; how the slave masters’ wives and female relatives hated the Black slave women for their beauty and sex appeal; how the Black slave women got beat and brutalized coming and going by the lustful slave masters and their women; and how the Black slave men were castigated and castrated for trying to be men rather than animals and for trying to have families with wives and children. Wow! DJANGO definitely portrayed the violent and inhumane treatment of Black slaves in America.

Now I know that women can hate their husbands’ mistresses, and hate their husbands for having mistresses. We even see that in the Bible with Sarah and Hagar and Abraham. And the same thing happens in every society where there are social class issues and people are taken advantage of by their masters for various inhumane purposes and that type of thing.

But the atrocities of slavery in America just go beyond the pale. All too often there is absolutely no value of human life where sex and money are involved, and that has been the case from the beginning of time, spreading into America’s history; manifesting in the slave trade market and more recently in the abortion market. The things that were done to these unfortunate human beings called slaves is terrible.

One can’t help but consider if disregard for the value of women and children is still at the root of abortion today.

So now we have a war on babies and the wombs often led by women and men controlled by a desire for revenge and avarice.

The movie DJANGO clearly shows the atrocities that Black women had to suffer during slavery. The pain and indignities to the men is clear as well. The film opens two years before the beginning of the Civil War and goes on from there. I’m not recommending that anyone see the film, just telling you that I got an eye opening experience in my seat at the theater.

What connects these two films and makes me want to issue a challenge to Mr. Spielberg, Mr. Tarantino and any other brilliant producers and directors who want to deliver startling and or compelling messages? WHY DON’T YOU MAKE MOVIES THAT SHOW THAT BABAIES ARE TREATED LIKE SLAVES? WHY NOT SHOW WHY RIPPING LITTLE BABIES APART IN THE WOMBS OF THEIR MOTHERS IS BAD????????? HUH?

My friends, it is the beginning of 2013. We are closer to being “free at last,” but we are not yet in the Promised Land. Let 2013 mark a season of enlightenment where change can ignite in every heart. Let this be a time when the reality of the beauty of natural life, natural marriage and natural family will no longer be considered a hopeless dream, but a reality of a promise of Divine Love and Grace.

Even as we consider all of the current arguments regarding human sexuality, we have to consider that all of the cards are not even on the table. In Matthew 19:12, even Jesus explained that some people are born without the natural desire for sex with a woman; some people are castrated so they can’t fulfill sexual desires with a woman; and some choose not to have sex with a woman so that they can serve God better.

In other words, we read in Matthew 19:12 that: “some men are celibate because they were born that way. Others are celibate because they were castrated. Still others have decided to be celibate because of the kingdom of heaven. If anyone can do what you’ve suggested, then he should do it.” (GOD’s Word Translation) Of course being celibate because you don’t desire natural sexuality is different from fornicating. Fornicating, adultery and unnatural

The literal meaning of the word Eunuch in the original languages of the Bible mean: “a man who does not have natural sexual desires or use for a woman.” So, actually some people are born without natural sexual desires at all. And some maybe desire to have sex with someone of their own gender. This doesn’t mean that they have to have unnatural sexual activity though. People won’t die if they don’t have sex at all. That is where being open to Jesus comes in. We all need more enlightenment.

Also, the word Niger isn’t a dirty word. In Acts 13:1 Simeon the Niger was a respected man. The additional “g” to the word Niger made the word “Nigger” and Black slaves from Africa were taught to denigrate that word/name. People become too upset by the word Nigger.

I tell people they can call me Nigger, just remove one g and add Queen in front of Nigger and call me Queen Niger as the word appears in the Bible because a Niger is a royal person. Niger by the way also means “Black” and I add Beautiful to that. In ignorance slavers attempted to denigrate what God made good. Let’s set the record straight.

Friends, we’re dealing with a “three headed monster” – Racism, Reproductive Genocide and Sexual Immorality – all three sustained by a tainted beastly heart.

One of my favorite MLK sermons is REDISCOVERING LOST VALUES. If you study the message, enlightenment will surely come. We all just need to REPENT and learn how to live together as righteous brothers and sisters or perish as fools.

So, let’s pray that everyone can be enlightened in 2013. Let’s pray that we shine the truth in love. My mother once told me that “you can’t clean the house by sweeping the dirt under the rug.”

Well, people are all out of the closet now. Everything is out in the open. Many are wanting to do “his thing,” or “her thing.” Why don’t we just bring everything out in the open in 2013 and take it all to Jesus for a good never lose its power BLOOD WASHING? HAPPY NEW YEAR!

All monsters are not in the movies…

Wednesday, August 15th, 2012

Friends, we are dealing with a real three headed monster: Abortion and Unnatural Contraceptives, Racism and Homosexuality. All three fly in the face of God, pretty much saying: “No God, we won’t be fruitful and multiply. We will not procreate your beloved human family. We will kill our babies, make sure we don’t get pregnant in the first place, refuse to marry anyone who doesn’t have our skin color and call it racial purity, and finally, we will have same-sex-sex, which sure as you know what won’t cause anyone to get pregnant.” Oh, wow!

What’s really sad is that when we protect these positions with “misplaced compassion,” and try to call these moral wrongs civil rights, we hurt society and humanity. Love, real love never fails. We must not judge one another, we must simply tell the truth and slay the beast. The Sword of the Spirit is a very effective weapon; the Blood of Jesus is a super source; and the real super hero is the Holy Spirit. And remember, our all powerful FATHER GOD is LOVE and LOVE never fails.

Pray Harder! Run Harder!

Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

Friends,

My friend Rev. C. L. Bryant just released a new film, Runaway Slave. It’s playing for a limited engagement in theatres around the country. Please go see the movie and tell your friends about it. If it’s not playing near you, please talk to your local theatre and ask them to bring it to their theatre. Just like other movies like October Baby, Fireproof and Courageous were helped become successful films, we can do the same for Runaway Slave.

Here is what my friend Anita Crane said about the film.

Would blacks vote for a white Obama?
Former NAACP leader defies racial politics in new movie, ‘Runaway Slave’

If Barack Obama weren’t black, would most black voters really have reason to support him?

Rev. C.L. Bryant, a former chapter president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or NAACP, is boldly challenging whether the expanding government programs and progressive ideals espoused by Obama and his allies are actually helpful to black people or whether “the sons and daughters of former slaves traded one form of slavery for yet another.”

Bryant is a descendent of American slaves and Choctaw Indians. He’s also a Baptist minister who resigned from NAACP leadership when they required him to host an event directly violating the commandments of Christ. In Bryant’s film, leaving the NAACP was just one step on his journey away from the slavery of anger and one step towards the truth setting him free.

What, then, is the reaction of blacks who’ve seen “Runaway Slave”?
