WASHINGTON, D.C. — When NARAL Pro-Choice America and its supporters meet in Washington, D.C. on Feb. 4 to celebrate 41 years of legal abortion – and the 55 million children killed since 1973 – the women of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign will be there to provide a dose of the truth.

For the ninth consecutive year, Nancy Tanner, regional coordinator for Northern Virginia, and other women from the campaign will hold their iconic signs that say, “I Regret My Abortion,” both before and after the dinner at the Washington Hilton.

“The NARAL attendees – who in the past have included former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and many of the nation’s top pro-choice lawmakers – have to pass through this silent gauntlet before they can ‘celebrate’ the fact that millions of American women have been hurt by this procedure,” said Ms. Tanner. “We don’t speak a word, but we know they hear our message.”

In the past, she said, women headed into the banquet will say quietly to her that they, too, regret their abortions, then urge her to keep her message to herself.

“This is the truth of abortion,” she said. “Even women who call themselves pro-choice know this procedure is bad for women, but they are afraid to speak out. We are not afraid to tell the truth.”

Ms. Tanner said women — men are welcome as well — from the campaign will meet at the hotel at 6:30 p.m., with their signs. After all the NARAL party-goers are inside, the Silent No More contingent will have dinner at another location, but will be back in position before the abortion celebration is over.

“It’s not an easy thing to be among these women who are so hostile to our message,” Ms. Tanner said. “But it’s vital they see us there. We can’t miss an opportunity to bring them face-to-face with the truth.”

Janet Morana, co-founder of Silent No More, said the pro-choice movement is built on the assumption that abortion is a good choice for women.

“But the women who have actually made that choice know it was the worst decision they could have made,” she said. “That’s why they are Silent No More.”

To arrange an interview with Ms. Tanner, contact Leslie Palma at 347-286-7277 or leslie@silentnomore.com

The Washington Hilton is at 1919 Connecticut Ave. NW.

Since the launch of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign in 2003, 5,715 women and men have shared their testimonies publicly at over 1,325 gatherings in 48 states and 17 countries. More than 14,979 people representing 77 countries are registered to be Silent No More. Raising awareness about the hurtful aftermath of abortion and the help that is available to cope with the pain are two of the Campaign’s goals. The Campaign has over 2,014 testimonies posted here, with over 293 that are shared via video!

More On The Girl Scouts – A Follow-Up

SPACER

Girl-Scouts-300x256This article was sent to me by another pro-lifer. It has a lot of good information that again gives me reason for caution when dealing with the Girls Scouts. As Edmund Burke said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” The abortion industry is welcome in the Girl Scouts organization and even though they should know better, the Girl Scouts are allowing the abortion/contraceptives industry’s ugly and intrusive presence. In their own words, the Girl Scouts “Does not take a position” on sexuality, birth control, or abortion. By not taking a position, they are allowing others to define their agendas. Parents should rise up and demand that so called friends of our daughters stop pretending to help girls while they are destroying them.

Article by Mary Hasson
March 11, 2013

The Girl Scouts’ Law insists that Girl Scouts be “responsible for what I say and do.” When it comes to abortion, however, the Girl Scouts USA “says” the magic words that keep pro-life members in the fold (i.e. that Girl Scouts “does not take a position” on sexuality, birth control, or abortion).

What they “do” behind the scenes is another story.

GSUSA’s hefty brand power—and funding—continue to fuel the pro-abortion advocacy of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (“WAGGGS”). And the Girl Scouts have refused once again to take responsibility for that.

I recently exchanged emails with two Girl Scouts USA spokespersons, Joshua Ackley and Michelle Tompkins, asking them to clarify the Girl Scouts’ “no position” stance in light of WAGGGS’ leadership on the pro-abortion Bali Global Youth Forum Declaration (December, 2012). Their responses highlight GSUSA’s corporate unwillingness to take any actions to distance themselves from WAGGGS’ global advocacy for youth “sexual rights” and abortion—even though WAGGGS claims to speak for all its members, including GSUSA.

First, realize how radical the Bali Youth Declaration really is: it asserts “sexual rights” for youth (including 10 year-olds) on nearly every page and demands, over a dozen times, youth access to “abortion” or “reproductive rights” and services. It marginalizes families—decrying parental consent and “age of consent” restrictions in sexual and reproductive matters—and casts religious objections to LBGT lifestyles as “religious intolerance.” Not surprisingly, the pro-abortionchorus embraces the Declaration.

There’s more to know about the Bali Declaration, but what’s most relevant here are the architects behind its design.

The Declaration reflects the handiwork of the Global Youth Forum’s International Steering Committee, a group stacked with abortion providers and abortion-advocacy groups, such as the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and the Youth Coalition.

Who else’s fingerprints are all over the Declaration? WAGGGS.

WAGGGS was heavily invested in formulating the Declaration. Its leaders, including WAGGGS’ Senior Advocacy Coordinator, not only served on the Forum’s Steering Committee, but also worked for six months on the Taskforcesthat shaped the conference agenda, the resulting Declaration, and follow-up activities. At the Bali summit, WAGGGS representatives facilitated breakout sessions and presented youth “recommendations” to the plenary sessions. Now WAGGGS promotes the Declaration and advocates for its implementation.

So that leaves the Girl Scouts with a problem.

In light of their officially neutral position on abortion, it should have been a no-brainer for the Girl Scouts to repudiate the radical, pro-abortion Bali Declaration. Or at least to clarify that WAGGGS’ does not speak for GSUSA when it advocates on sexual and reproductive matters, including the Bali Declaration.

GSUSA refused to do either.

Before You Buy Girl Scout Cookies . . .

Wednesday, March 13th, 2013

SPACERAll_Cookie_boxes_line

We continue to receive reports that the Girl Scouts continue to support pro-abortion advocacy groups and continue to teach our young girls promiscuity.

You hate to think that it could be so; I know I do. Everyone loves their cookies, even if you don’t buy them because of weight issues, most everyone has tried them at one point or another. And although their cookies are good, the agenda of the Girl Scouts, at least at the National and International levels, is not good.

It’s my understanding that each Girl Scouts Council gets to decide what they will do and what they will teach our girls. However, they don’t get to decide where that money from the sale of the cookies will go.

In fact, of the $3.50 (cost of a box of cookies), the local troop only gets .59. The rest goes to other expenses and $1.89 goes to the Council to do with/partner with whoever they please.

So before you purchase a box of cookies from a local Girl Scouts troop, find out what they teach their scouts and what the Council does with their portion of the money.

Better yet, get involved with your local Girl Scouts Troop and start making a change from the inside.

There are a few former Girl Scouts that are sounding the siren. They are working to bring the truth out about the Girl Scouts. You can visit their sites at GirlScoutsWhyNot.com and speaknowgirlscouts.com.

Our girls deserve to be looked out for. It is every parent’s responsibility to protect their children and to raise them with good morals and to protect them from predators like Planned Parenthood.

Truth for Christmas

Wednesday, December 19th, 2012

Merry-Christmas-manger
In today’s world of political correctness and culture of diversity and tolerance people are reluctant or afraid to speak the truth for fear of offending someone or being labeled as racist, bigot, or worse.

But I say that speaking the truth in love is the kindest way to bless your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers. Mind you, speak truth to power in love, not judgment. To do anything less is to hide the light of truth under a basket. As Scripture says, “nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:15-16

One good example if this is a young lady named Stephanie whom we applaud for choosing life in the face of adversity. Please watch her video.

We are grateful for Stephanie’s courage for choosing life for Kaiya and for her desire to be a good mother to her children and niece. This is commendable, especially considering the added burden of raising children as a single mother.

In the spirit of love I have to say that although choosing life is a great thing, we must address the underlying issue of so many unplanned pregnancies outside of traditional marriage; and dare I say not just unplanned pregnancies. In striving for holiness we must seek to follow God’s design for humanity with respect to chastity. In God’s love of humanity, He wishes to bless us, not punish us. But in our arrogance, many have turned away from Him and rejected his blessings.

The permissiveness of today’s culture leads many to choose to follow their selfish self-gratifying feelings instead of follow God’s commandments. Our culture of just do it if it feels good has led to the slaughter of over 55 million innocent lives all in the name of “choice.” First by choosing to engage in sexual activities that can lead to pregnancy, and then by choosing to end the life that resulted from that first choice.

I know that nobody is perfect and all (including me) have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Yet that doesn’t mean that we are not supposed to be striving for the highest bar possible. God set the bar when he instructed Moses on what to say to the congregation of the sons of Israel. God sad to tell them, “You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.” Leviticus 19:2 Trust me, I’m always in need of God’s mercy and grace.

If we are to ever be in God’s good grace, we need to repent of our sins and ask for his forgiveness. Thank God for Jesus!

“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. .” 2 Chronicles 7:14

So we need to pray for mercy; start making more life affirming choices, loving our neighbors as ourselves. Let’s help others to choose life; let’s give people reasons to want to choose to be chaste; we need to teach the benefits of natural biblical marriage; let’s sincerely demonstrate the love of God. And finally, since so many people are bringing everything out of the closet and out in the open, let’s encourage others to be open to the Gospel of Jesus.

Young Black Woman Speaks the Truth Regarding Life Against Great Adversity.

Monday, August 20th, 2012

Galatians 4:16 – “Have I become your enemy because I am telling you the truth.”

A dear friend of mine sent me an email with this message.

“Here is a courageous young women standing for the word of God against abortion at a local community meeting full of opposition. Bravo Charita! Tell the truth and shame the devil. May God give you speed. Send it to your friends. Pray for Charita.”

See video HERE

It takes a lot of courage to do what Charita did. The Black community needs people to “fear not” and to stand up for the word of God expecially in times such as these. Do you have the courage to do the right thing?

Is the Girl Scouts Program Good for Girls? Part 2

Monday, June 11th, 2012

As the U.S. bishops take up an inquiry, parents continue to be concerned about the organization. Boys who ‘identify’ as girls are welcome to join in Colorado.

Quo vadis, Girl Scouts of America?

After years of on-going concerns about the organization’s direction, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has taken up the question of whether its current program is at all good for girls.

The bishops’ Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth, chaired by Bishop Kevin Rhoades of Fort Wayne-South Bend, Ind., will address “possible problematic relationships with other organizations, the issue of problematic programmatic materials and resources and other matters of concern.”

Yesterday, we looked at how part of the problem may stem from the fact that councils are free to set their own agenda, rather than strictly follow a national policy.

The bishops’ apprehensions fall into three major groups, accompanied by a host of smaller issues.

There are concerns about Girl Scouts USA’s ties to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), the confederation of international Girl Scout groups that has exhibited pro-abortion and pro-homosexual agendas in many instances.

There is an ongoing question regarding the GSUSA’s connection to and involvement with Planned Parenthood and other groups that provide, promote or condone abortion and contraception.

And there is the issue of how GSUSA handles sexuality, sexual education and homosexuality.

Although the Girl Scouts claim to be neutral on the more political issues related to same-sex attraction, their leadership is larded with supporters of — and activities for — homosexual rights, and some of their educational material shows a clear bias in favor of homosexual issues.

As just one example, the current spokesman for the GSUSA is Joshua Ackley.

Under the name of Joshua Starr, he fronted the “homocore” (hardcore/punk music with homosexual lyrical themes) band the Dead Betties, which was founded in 2002 as part of the “queer punk” movement. The band’s lyrics and music videos are dominated by sexual content, violence and misogyny.
Ackley is in charge of media relations for the GSUSA and writes for the official Girl Scout blog.

In addition to Ackley, other members of the Girl Scouts’ leadership are active in homosexual-rights issues, including Lynn Cothern, the director of administration, and Timothy Higdon, chief of external affairs, who both worked with the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. Cothern recently resigned from GSUSA and, according to his Facebook page, now works as a “major gifts strategist: for Girl Scouts Cactus-Pine Council in Arizona.

In contrast to the Boy Scouts of America, the GSUSA has no official prohibition on homosexual persons in leadership positions or as members, saying there are “no membership policies on sexual preference.” Its official website links to numerous resources that promote abortion and the homosexual agenda, including same-sex “marriage.”

Same-sex issues are routinely included in Girl Scout materials about “diversity” and “tolerance.” Indeed, when the Boy Scouts were embroiled in a lawsuit about their right to refuse to allow homosexual men to be leaders, the GSUSA was quick to affirm its acceptance of homosexuals, saying, “Your sexuality has absolutely no bearing on your personal character. You can be a role model for a young man or woman regardless of your sexual inclination.”

Problematic Learning Material

Over the years, parents have encountered a variety of problematic educational materials and resources created for use by scouts and leaders.

The resource entitled “Your Voice, Your World: The Power of Advocacy” for the Advocate award includes a work page with which girls can complete the activity “Advocacy in My Own Life.” The example given is that of tennis player Martina Navrotilova, who “set a milestone for gay rights with her openness about her sexual orientation. She became an activist for gay rights and, in 1992, sued the state of Colorado over a ballot measure denying gays and lesbians protection from discrimination.”

“GIRLtopia,” for example, is a publication that “invites girls to consider how the world is far from perfect for girls around the globe. As girls take in this reality, they are invited to envision an ideal world — a society that consistently respects their needs, values and interests.”

On the page for “Utopias,” they begin with St. Thomas More (who coined the word) and then recommend Sherri Tepper’s novel, The Gate to Woman’s Country. Tepper’s book describes an “ideal” society in which men are subservient, procreation is managed in a twice yearly “festival,” and eugenics is the chosen path to perfection.

Aside from the thematic material that conflicts with the Catholic faith, there is a high degree of mature language and sexual content, notable even for a book recommended to high-school juniors and seniors.

Even worse is some content recommended for fourth-grade and fifth-grade girls. The book Agent of Change, billed as a book about “power,” has a profile of Marjane Satrapi and her graphic novel Persepolis, which includes page after page of extreme sexual content, drug use, Marxism and foul language. The book is intended for an adult audience, and much of the material is inappropriate for minors.

GSUSA recently made changes that will remove references to Persepolis and Gate to Women’s Country in future printings, as well as to Martina Navrotalova’s gay rights activities. In the meantime, girls can continue to use the materials, or the council will provide “stickers” for them to cover up the offensive content or replacement pages, available online. However, even after recent changes, some materials still refer girls to pro-abortion organizations like the ACLU, Amnesty International, and the National Organization for Women (NOW); role models like Betty Friedan, Margaret Mead, Gloria Steinam, Dolores Huerta (a pro-choice Catholic) and more; and sexually explicit websites like Jezebel.com, MarieClaire.com and others.

The 2011 “World Thinking Day” activity pack, aimed at ages 6-16, includes “sexual and reproductive rights.” The “AIDS Badge Curriculum” created by WAGGGS, and available to Girl Scouts, suggests having girls “role-play” negotiation for use of a condom during sex. One of the activities is to create a display to encourage use of condoms, instruct girls how to acquire them, demonstrate their correct use and distribute them.

Although GSUSA had said that it would not “take a stand on or advocate for or against any issue regarding a girl’s health and sexuality,” there continue to be problems with resources available to members. These are among the issues which the bishops hope to address, and GSUSA has already removed problematic links on its website and is revising some materials.

However, as recently as 2007, former CEO Kathy Cloninger said: “I feel like we cannot be the nation’s expert on girl issues without dealing with how issues of sexuality affect the girls of this nation. We believe parents are part of the discussion, but girl scouting needs to be part of education and discussion as well.”

Do the Girl Scouts no longer believe this?

Boys as Girl Scouts

In addition to these looming issues, the Girl Scouts are also now accepting boys who suffer from gender-identity disorders. The Colorado Council decided to accept 7-year-old boy Bobby Montoya because he “identifies” as a girl.

The Girl Scouts of Colorado said, “Girl Scouts is an inclusive organization, and we accept all girls in kindergarten through 12th grade as members. If a child identifies as a girl, and the child’s family presents her as a girl, Girl Scouts of Colorado welcomes her as a Girl Scout. Our requests for support of transgender kids have grown, and Girl Scouts of Colorado is working to best support these children, their families and the volunteers who serve them. … We are accelerating our support systems and training so that we’re better able to serve all girls, families and volunteers.”

This naturally raises the problem of boys being allowed to go on overnights with girls simply by “identifying” as girls. Mixed-gender overnights are normally forbidden.

GSUSA spokeswoman Michelle Tompkins says that “Girl Scouts of the USA is an inclusive organization focused on delivering a leadership experience for all girls in kindergarten through 12th grade. In situations involving transgender children, we handle each situation on a case-by-case basis so we can best handle the individual circumstances needed to address each issue. Of paramount importance to the Girl Scouts is the well-being of the child in question and the children in the troop (or the activity in question). We will take the steps we feel are necessary to ensure that all of the children involved have a safe environment in order to enjoy our programming.”

What the Church ius Doing

There are more than 3 million Girl Scouts in America. Some estimates suggest that perhaps 25% of them are Catholic or are in troops sponsored through a Catholic organization.

As concerns arose about the Girl Scouts, the U.S. bishops’ conference deferred to the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM), which defends the Scouts. Its initial response was to debunk, rather than address, claims made against the GSUSA.

In its most recent position statement released in February 2012, NFCYM acknowledged that, beginning in 2010, parents began to raise concerns “that GSUSA had taken an intentional position contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church on marriage, abortion, contraception and sexuality. In 2011 and 2012, the accusations continued. Our practice as an organization is to investigate, understand and then, if necessary, challenge such matters by going directly to the sources involved. As a result, NFCYM has been in direct contact with GSUSA leadership and has engaged in substantial conversation characterized by mutual respect and shared goals.”

NFCYM met with GSUSA and its new CEO, Anna Maria Chavez, “who has committed to continued dialogue.”

The GSUSA affirmed its “commitment to strengthening their relationship with faith communities and honoring the religious principles in their program resource material. Therefore, changes have recently been made to GSUSA’s print and Web program content as a result of the issues of concern raised by NFCYM and others. In addition, a thorough review of all GSUSA program resources is in process by GSUSA.”

Indeed, the GSUSA has been responsive to complaints in the past, removing some problematic links from its website and some offending material from learning resources.

Additionally, GSUSA and NFCYM will continue to work together to “more quickly and successfully address accusations and communicate factual information.”

Chavez, a Catholic, told Catholic News Service, “For nearly 100 years, we have partnered with the Catholic Church to support the growth and development of millions of girls. It is a wonderful legacy, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to participate in the process that will only enhance our partnership.”

Following this meeting, Bishop Rhoades met with his Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth and consulted with Robert McCarty and Kathleen Carver of the NFCYM. Bishop Rhoades reaffirmed “the good service that so many of our Catholic Girl Scout troops have provided and continue to provide at the local level, both to the Church and to the community at large. In the spirit of Blessed John Paul II’s apostolic letter Mulieris Dignitatem (1988), the Church ever seeks to hold up activity that promotes and fosters the dignity and vocation of girls and of young women. Catholic Girl Scout troops have served girls and young women for many years, and the committee is grateful for this service.”

However, “important questions still remain and need to be examined” at both a local and national level. Bishop Rhoades has requested that the committee “provide a resource(s) for local-level use that bishops can share with priests, youth and young-adult ministry directors, pro-life directors, educational and catechetical leaders and others. Such a resource(s) may include considerations related to the identity of Catholic troops and considerations that may be helpful for parents.”

He has requested that USCCB staff work directly with GSUSA and NFCYM to “identify and address remaining questions and concerns,” and has also invited his brother bishops “to communicate questions or concerns with me or the USCCB Secretariat of Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth.”

Tess Volanski, one of the co-founders of SpeakNowGirlScouts.com, which tracks problems with the organization from a Catholic perspective, remains concerned.

“Catholic parents and families need to understand that GSUSA is not just an organization that has made a few mistakes with questionable material,” she said. “The group has shown repeatedly, through their curriculum, media use, staff and other sources, that they possess a set of values in direct conflict with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

“In my opinion, Girl Scouts changing appears highly improbable. The general mindset of the organization has shifted, and for it to shift back to a wholesome scouting group, free from any sort of political agenda, would be verging on a miracle.”

HHS Abortifacient/Contraceptive/Sterilization Mandate is NOT HEALTHCARE –

Thursday, March 15th, 2012

Hurts Women, Endangers Babies

There are eight law suits addressing the unconstitutionality of the HHS ACS MANDATE. Priests for Life has filed a compelling case against the mandate. See lawsuits against the HHS Mandate. There is no question about the fact that abortion kills babies. The United States Supreme Court also has read over 2,000 testimonies from women who have been harmed by abortion. Below is additional information about why abortifacients, contraceptives, sterilization and abortion are not good for women and/or babies.

WHY ABORTION AND ARTIFICIAL CONTRACEPTIVES ARE HARMFUL TO THE WOMEN

1. ABORTION AND ARTIFICIAL CONTRACEPTIVES ARE NOT HEALTH CARE.

A disproportionate number of women suffer medical side effects from abortions and use of artificial contraceptives.

2. The connection between contraception and abortion

Many in the pro-life movement versus anti-life debate are reluctant to make a connection between contraception and abortion. They insist that these are two very different acts–that there is all the difference in the world between contraception, which prevents a life from coming to be and abortion, which takes a life that has already begun.

To the contrary, with some contraceptives there is not only a link with abortion, there is an identity. Some contraceptives are abortifacients; they work by causing early term abortions. The IUD seems to prevent a fertilized egg–a new little human being- from implanting in the uterine wall. The pill does not always stop ovulation, but sometimes prevents implantation of the growing embryo. And, of course, the new RU-486 pill works altogether by aborting a new fetus, a new baby. Although some in the pro-life movement occasionally speak out against the contraceptives that are abortifacients, most generally steer clear of the issue of contraception. Almost no one talks about how the abortions and artificial birth control not only kill and/or prevent the birth of babies, they are very bad for women’s health. Both, for instance, are linked to breast cancer.

A gray area – forced or coerced sterilization. The most visible and classic case of forced sterilization is noted in the testimony of Elaine Riddick. Her case, and those of other women who were sterilized in North Carolina is currently being considered for litigation.

Women have been and are being sterilized without their knowledge. There are recent cases of women who were “treated” with placement of IUDs in their wombs without their knowledge. There are known side effects to sterilization and IUDs, and studies are being conducted regarding harmful effects of such.

3. How are abortion and artificial birth control linked to breast cancer?

Dr. Chris Kahlenborn’s new book: Breast Cancer, Its Link to Abortion and the Birth Control Pill is the culmination of seven years the author spent reviewing and analyzing more than 500 research studies and related works. It is very timely because of the breast cancer epidemic, which currently threatens every woman. Both abortion and artificial birth control are linked to breast cancer.

4. Are Black Women in a high risk category for the abortion/birth control/breast cancer link?

Yes. Research shows that induced abortion increases the risk of breast cancer more for some groups of women than for others. Black women, for example, have higher rates of breast cancer and tend to develop more aggressive cancers. There is also a greater risk in women who have had abortions if they were under age 18 at the time, if they do not have any more children after aborting, or if they have a family history of breast cancer.

In 2009, in a study of more than 50,000 African-American women, Boston University epidemiologist Lynn Rosenberg found a 65 percent increase in a particularly aggressive form of breast cancer among those who had ever taken the birth-control pill. The risk doubles for those who had used the contraceptive within the past five years and had taken it for longer than 10 years.

This unwelcome news doesn’t fit well into the wave of coverage of the pill’s 50th anniversary. A Newsweek columnist gushed that the pill “did more good for more people than any other invention of the 20th century.” In a cover story, Time magazine extolled the pill as “the means by which women untied their aprons, scooped up their ambitions and marched eagerly into the new age.” (True. Thanks, pill!) A commemorative MSN.com piece flatly asserted earlier this year that “taking the pill has no impact on breast cancer risk.”

Rosenberg’s findings question that assertion. She wanted to study black women because they have been underrepresented in cancer research so far, even though they suffer from higher rates of “triple negative” breast cancer. This relatively rare form of breast cancer, in which the tumors lack certain genes and so are not responsive to standard treatments like tamoxifen, confers the highest and fastest mortality. In Rosenberg’s work, it was these cancers that were linked to the pill. A number of other studies of women of multiple races support her data implicating the pill in breast cancer, including research done in New England; South Carolina; Long Island, N.Y.; and Scandinavia.

5. Why would black women have more breast cancer?

Breast cancer in the U.S. is more prevalent in young black women than in white women of equivalent age, and is the second leading cause of cancer death (after lung cancer) among black women. This may be a consequence of more common hormonal contraceptive use and/or a greater frequency of abortion among young black women. Black women who develop breast cancer generally have more aggressive cancers resulting in a shortened life expectancy.

It has been noted that while Black American’s make up approximately 13% or less of America’s population, nearly 33% of abortions reported since the passage of Roe v Wade in 1973 have occurred on Black Women. Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, who also distributes free or low cost artificial abortion drugs has a highly targeted market to Black Women. So Black women are at a higher risk for abortions and breast cancer and other health related problems as a consequence of being marketed for the causes.

6. How could abortion cause breast cancer?

At the beginning of pregnancy there are great increases in certain hormone levels (eg estrogen, progesterone, and HCG) that support pregnancy. In response to these changes, breast cells divide and mature into cells able to produce milk. Abortion causes an abrupt fall in hormone levels, leaving the breast cells in an immature state. These immature cells can more easily become cancer cells.

Has this been proven? Yes. As of January 1999, 11 out of 12 studies in the United States, and 25 out of 31 studies worldwide, showed that women who experienced an induced abortion had an increased risk of breast cancer. In 1996 Joel Brind, PhD [1], assembled the results of all the studies up to that time. Brind concluded that women who have an abortion before their first full-term pregnancy have a 50% increased risk of developing breast cancer while those who have an abortion after their first full-term pregnancy have a 30% increased risk.

7. What does it mean to have “a 50% increased risk of developing breast cancer?”

A 50% increased risk means a 50% higher risk than someone would have otherwise. For example, if a person already had a 10% risk of developing breast cancer, then a 50% increase would bring the risk up to 15%.

8. How serious a problem is breast cancer?

Breast cancer is the worldwide leading cancer in women and is the most common cause of cancer death for U.S. women age 20-59.In the U.S. every year about 175,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 43,000 women die from this disease. This means that about one U.S. woman out of eight will develop breast cancer at some time in her life and about one fourth of such women will die from this disease. Induced abortion, especially at a young age, markedly increases a woman’s risk for developing breast cancer. This risk is increased even further by other breast cancer risk factors such as synthetic hormones (including hormonal contraceptives like the Birth Control Pill, Norplant and Depo-Provera), family history of breast cancer, and others.

The U.S. has one of the highest rates of induced abortion and hormonal contraceptive use in the world, especially for young women. The breast cancer rate in the U.S. is rising, and will likely rise even higher once the latent period (the time it takes for cancer to develop) for these women has passed. Calculations based on available studies indicate that induced abortion may result in over 46,800 additional cases of breast cancer in the U.S. annually.

9. Abortion and Fibromyalgia

Psychiatrist and researcher Dr. Philip Ney relates the story of a patient of his who developed fibromyalgia, which causes chronic pain without any apparent cause. He found that she had undergone an abortion just before this pain began, and since then, has developed a theory that in some cases, the pain of fibromyalgia may in fact be caused by chemicals released by the aborted baby’s flesh when it is torn apart. These chemicals cross the placenta, and lodge in the mother’s nervous system. In reality, she is feeling not her own pain, but that of her aborted child. We have not yet begun to understand all the implications of abortion, and of how destroying a child in the womb destroys the rest of us. Let’s pray that our society may forsake abortion and find healing.

Conclusion: The Challenge of Linking Abortion and Contraception for those who respect life

Linking contraception and abortion pose a challenge to those who respect life. It may not be immediately obvious that there is any connection between contraception and abortion, but on further examination, a relationship between the two becomes apparent. Ignoring the issue of contraception leads to a lost opportunity to respect life to the fullest degree. Neither abortion nor artificial contraception are health care. There are at least three connections between contraception and abortion to consider:

1. Many contraceptives can directly cause early abortions.

2. Contraceptive use creates a perceived need for abortion as a “back-up.”

3. Contraceptive use causes a devaluation of human life.

4. Both abortions and artificial contraceptives are bad for women’s health.

End Notes:

Somehow, for political reasons, selfish gain, lack of knowledge and other variables, there are very obvious solutions that are not on the general or public radar.

BREAKING NEWS!

1. Women do not have to have unplanned or undesirable pregnancies in most cases. It is a scientific and medical fact that a woman can’t become pregnant if she is not ovulating. There are inexpensive ovulation kits on the market that women can obtain and exercise power and control over their right to get pregnant or not. A woman should have the right to say when she will and will not have sex. She should have the right and knowledge to control her reproductive rights.

2. There are natural and relatively inexpensive solutions for women who have irregular cycles and ovulation schedules. There is generally no need for invasive measures such as artificial drugs and such in these cases.

3. The $365 million a year, $1 million per day that our government tax dollars pay to Planned Parenthood who is the nation’s largest abortion provider does not provide information and resources regarding reproductive freedom regarding ovulation and pregnancy choices to women.

4. If women do not have sex when they ovulate, there is no reason for them to take harmful chemical and surgical birth control measures, many of which are known to cause heart attacks, strokes, exposure to possibility of cancer and other illnesses.

So the question is why is it so hard to break through the information barriers surrounding women’s health and reproductive rights? Could it be that people on each side of the isle, each side of the arguments have so much vested in their own interests that everyone has forgotten the women and the babies in the midst of the melee?

Fr. Frank Pavone and Dr. Alveda King Announce Support for Congressman Franks’ Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: December 6, 2011

Staten Island, NY – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life and Dr. Alveda King, its Director of African American Outreach, today issued statements in favor of H.R. 3541, the Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act (PRENDA). The measure, the subject of a House subcommittee hearing this afternoon on Capitol Hill, would outlaw any abortion performed because of the race or sex of a baby.

“We know from census figures that sex selection abortions do happen in the United States,” said Fr. Pavone. “We also know because we minister to those who have had them. The abortion industry enables and facilitates discrimination against girls in the womb. The Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act is urgently needed to stop the blatant and barbaric killing of babies because of their sex.”

“There’s still a place in America where people can be killed because of their race and the perpetrators go free. It’s the abortion clinic,” added Dr. King. “The minority baby whose mother listens to an abortionist who masks his racism in false compassion can be denied his life and liberty simply because of his skin color. This outrageous racism should be illegal. When Congressman Franks’ legislation is passed it will be.”

In addition to criminal penalties for the abortionist who performs a sex or race selection abortion, H.R. 3541 would establish civil remedies for the mother, father, and maternal grandparents of the victimized unborn child. The bill would also make it illegal to solicit or accept money for the performance of such discriminatory procedures.
