Ms King: I was a prosecutor for a number of years and talked with many defendants, many of whom committed very bad crimes. Sitting in the courtroom, most of them were polite, many were friendly and chatted with me amiably. I knew, as anyone of common sense should know, that meeting them in the courtroom (or in a law office) is a completely different experience than meeting them when they have the advantage. In other words, I wouldn't want to meet them on a lonely street on a dark night.

"Faith without works is dead" James 2:20. If you love the Lord and you are grateful for all he has done for you in Christ, you will show it with your life. Jesus called us to follow him. That means doing as he did, loving as he loved, forgiving as he forgave, and serving as he served. So, being a Christian means doing certain things. In fact, Paul in his letter to the Ephesians says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10. Paul explains how God made some prophets, some apostles and some teachers. He also explains that people were given those gifts to build the body. God expects us to act daily in ways that will build the kingdom. At anytime you should be able to answer the question, "What are you doing for God?" How are you serving right now?

I have always thought it was legally absurd to argue that the putative father should have no say in whether a woman carried her baby to term, because it was the woman's right to use her body as she sees fit. If that is the case, then why is the putative father legally responsible if the woman choses to have the baby. It becomes somewhat logically inconsistent to hold the male financially responsible for the woman's decision that he has no input into. I am not arguing that the putative father should be held not financially responsible, just that the two legal positions of a woman's right to choose abortion or birth and the resultant impact on the man's legal duties are rationally inconsistent.
