Staten Island, NY – Priests for Life today announces a special nine-week Election Novena, starting September 2, that coincides with its other election-related efforts, including Voter Registration Sunday on September 7th, and Fr. Frank Pavone’s hard-hitting series of articles, “Politics and the Pulpit.”

“Priests for Life is asking believers across the country to participate in our Election Novena by praying during the nine weeks from September 2nd to Election Day,” said Fr. Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. “The Novena prayer asks God to awaken His people so that we are faithful citizens of His Kingdom who exercise our solemn responsibility to seek justice for all, including the unborn, when we enter the voting booth. As the prayer states, we ‘are not called to be a sect fleeing the world, [b]ut rather a community of faith renewing the world.’”

The Novena begins just five days before National Christian Voter Registration Sunday on September 7th when Christians of every denomination are encouraged to conduct non-partisan efforts to register as many voters as possible. “Not only is voter registration an entirely legal activity in which churches and non-profit groups can engage, but it’s also part of our moral responsibility,” stated Fr. Pavone.

Already online at Priests for Life’s Political Responsibility website is Fr. Pavone’s series of articles, “Politics and the Pulpit,” which addresses questions relating to the rights of clergy and churches at election time. In his series, Fr. Pavone shows why fears by some Church leaders that the Church will lose its tax-exempt status for speaking out at election time are absurd. He calls on Church leaders to stop stifling their own religious freedom.

I’m impressed. Your discussions on FOX News were great. If we all looked to God more often the world would be a much better place. There is no black, white, blue or brown. There is only one. Again, God Bless You..
