JOIN THE 24TH ANNUAL LIFE CHAIN

This year’s annual Life Chain will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2011. With over 1400 Life Chains scheduled all over the United States and Canada, chances are there is one in your community. Please visit www.lifechain.net for a complete listing of Life Chains. (dates and times may vary per location)

Life Chain is a peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing for 60-90 minutes praying for our nation and for an end to abortion. It is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community that abortion kills children and that the Church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception until natural death.

In the war to end abortion and respect for all life from conception to natural death there are many battles being waged on many fronts. All battles are important in the overall war on abortion. We must all pray and support each other. We must resist the urge to criticize and argue with others about the battle that they are engaged in. Only the General, God, who commissions the different fronts know of their purpose and we must trust in Him. If it’s not ordained by God then it will fail.

Jesus said speaking to Peter, “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

We have been assured victory over evil. We will have victory over abortion. The days of legalized abortion are numbered. All that is asked of us is to do God’s will. He does not call all of us to the same calling. He has different roles for each of us. Pray and Fast in support of all pro-life work, at all fronts, and leave the results up to God.

It’s funny in an ironic sort of way. 3 out 5 black babies are supposed to be dying in abortion. It may be true. Thing is: all the pro-life activity happens in lily-white places like Orland Park and New Lenox. I’m white, but my brother’s autism prohibits me from living in places like this. These places still have restrictive covenants. There are several places where activity like this might occur where we, the different, have to live. There can be a life-chain along route 30 from Chicago Heights to Matteson. While there is no Planned Parenthood, (that’s in Lily-white Orland Park), there are several women’s clinic in the area. One is across Joe Orr Road and down the street from Marian Catholic High School. I ‘m in that area all the time going to and from work, I never see anything occuring. Another is on route 30 a little west of St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights. There is never any activity there, either. There are several Catholic churches close by. St. Agnes comes to mind. There are several Kinghts-of-Columbus groups there, also. This makes me think that the pro-life movement is more concerned about a 15 year-old middle-class girl getting an abortion than anything remotely concerning blacks. Maybe the pro-life movenent thinks that if a black girl has an abortion, the middle-class will have to pay less in welfare costs.
