Msgr. Charles Pope of the Archdiocese of Washington Weighs In On The NY Billboard Controversy

Msgr. Charles Pope has some very strong opinions about the Billboard that was erected and just days later taken down due to the controversy it created. And he brought me into the discussion so let me weigh in.

The billboard spoke the truth and many just don’t want to face the truth. It’s harsh and it speaks volumes about our society and our values. We just don’t want to face the fact that if the billboard is true and we’re just living our lives and not doing anything about it, what would that say about our convictions. As my Uncle Martin said, “The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.”

We must do something about this tragedy. Most people, I believe, are good with good values and morals. We’ve just been drawn into the abortion lies. But slowly but surely we are seeing the truth. One by one people are seeing this billboard or that billboard and this video or that video and the truth is being revealed. We are beginning to unravel through the years of lies and misinformation. The evil is being exposed and abortion will end, if not today, someday soon.

God bless you all!
