On behalf of Alveda King, she is only speaking the truth as taught to us by our Lord, Jesus Christ. The fact that the heterosexual divorce rate is high is no reason to say that same-sex marriage is okay. The reason the divorce rate is high is because too many people are not living according to God’s laws. If they were the divorce rate would drop. All people, not just minorities, need all the friends they can get but not at the expense of their moral values. All people, gay or straight, are to be loved by everyone. We should all strive to live a chaste life. In doing so we are assured of God’s favor and blessings.

In 1969, during the Vietnam War, as a Canadian student, I entered the USA to go to school. I met lots of Americans of all ages and backgrounds. As a Canadian I was told there will never be black president and there will never be a black 5 star general. Canadians wouldn’t even go there. Not on our radar so I was very sad to read that, in spite of a back president, black 5 star generals, you, a woman, and a relative of Martin Luther – and black, yourself – would trash another minority re same sex marriage. Gays are the most hated people in the world. The divorce rate for heterosexuals is between 45 and 51 percent. All minorities need all the friends they can find. Think of what you are saying and doing.
