NEW YORK — Priests for Life has announced that it has sent out applications to diocesan respect life offices to apply for a $5,000 donation the organization will bestow. Between now and January 22, the day of the national March for Life, diocesan offices will be able to submit their application, describing the activities they have undertaken in the past year and those they are planning for the year to come.
For this year, Priests for Life will choose one of those offices to receive the gift, which is meant to express concretely the solidarity that the worldwide ministry has with local diocesan efforts. The donation will be directed specifically to those activities focused on ending abortion, which, among all pro-life issues, “necessarily plays a central role” and deserves “urgent attention and priority” (US Bishops’ Pastoral Plan for Pro-life Activities).
Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, explained, “Priests for Life was established twenty-five years ago precisely to foster the activity of the Church in ending abortion. Among the many ways we do that, we want to include material support for the best activities aimed at achieving that goal.”
Priests for Life is the nation’s largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia. For more information, visit www.priestsforlife.org.
