A letter from South Africa
“Rescue the weak and needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” Psalm 82:4
The true followers of God have
always found themselves fighting against the so-called pro-choice movement that
want to sacrifice the most innocent blood of all. All over the world, I have
heard some people proclaim to be pro-choice. Pro-choice? They should just be
honest and call themselves the “pro-death lobby!” The Lord commanded in
Deuteronomy 18:10, that when you come into the land of the heathen, you are not
to sacrifice your children. We read in Proverbs 6:17 that the Lord hates those
who shed innocent blood.
Abortion is a modern equivalent of
child sacrifice. Just as God’s people opposed Pharaoh’s decree to murder newborn
babies in Egypt (Exodus 1:15-22), so we need to protect pre-born babies from
abortion today. Just as King Herod sought to kill the babies in Bethlehem
(Matthew 2:16), so abortionists are tempting to butcher babies today.
Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up
for those who cannot speak for themselves.”
It is of the utmost hypocrisy for
us to denounce the atrocities committed under various political systems, if we
allow the abortion holocaust to continue in our country. The South African
government has replaced apartheid with abortion. In the name of human rights,
pro-choicers are depriving pre-born babies of the right to life. Instead of
discrimination based upon race they advocate discrimination based on age. How
can anyone condemn discrimination based on race, while allowing discrimination
based on age?
Of what worth is human dignity, if
babies are denied the right to life? The right to life of pre-born babies is one
of the most urgent and important issues confronting society today. What kind of
convoluted logic and mental gymnastics can interpret the Right to Life
clause in the constitution to protect guilty murderers from execution, but not
prevent innocent babies from receiving the death penalty through abortion?
If the right to life of the most
helpless and innocent members of society - pre-born babies – is not upheld, then
the Bill of Rights is a worthless piece of paper. Any society that is capable of
burning, smothering, poisoning or dismembering little babies deserves the wrath
of God. We read in Numbers 35:33 that the land comes under a curse when innocent
blood is shed.
Abortion on demand was legalized
in South Africa on 1 February 1997. Every year over 80 000 babies are murdered
through abortion in our country. It is not only those directly involved in these
crimes of murder that are guilty of violating the 6th Commandant,
"Thou shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13). All those politicians who worked for,
and voted for the legalization of abortion share the guilt.
Also guilty of being accessories
before, during, and after the legalization of abortion, are the journalists who
promoted abortion and constantly attempt to cover up the facts in order to
ensure that the holocaust against the unborn continues. Those pastors and
compromising Christians who fail to faithfully expound the Scriptures on when
life begins and what a Christian’s responsibility is- which is among other
things- to speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves, are also
accessories to murder. And of course, all those voters who continue to vote for
pro-abortion parties have also violated the 6th Commandment and are
accessories to murder.
It has been estimated that over
75% of all South Africans proclaim to be Christian, yet so many refuse to make a
stand for righteousness. Why are so many Christians voting for ungodly leaders
whose political parties endorse abortion, homosexuality, ancestral worship and
other immoral practices which are an abomination to The Most High God?
Revelation 3:15-16 says, “I
know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold
or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot. I will
vomit you out of My mouth.” Do we really want to be vomited out of the
Lord’s mouth because of our rebellion?
Repentance will have to start with
the church. We need to just humble ourselves and repent for being such cowards
and for compromising all these years. One of the wisest men I know, Dr. Robb
Thompson, defined compromise as “Accepting what you don’t believe, because you
refuse to stand for what you do.”
Now is the time for all of us
Christians to wake up and make a stand for righteousness.
If you do not stand up and oppose
abortion, then the blood of the innocent babies will be upon your own head
(Ezekiel 33:1-6). Proverbs 24:11-12 states, “Rescue those who are being led
away to death; hold back those staggering towards slaughter. If you say, but we
knew nothing about this, does not He who weighs your heart perceive it? Does not
He who guards your life know it? Will not He repay each one according to what he
has done?”
Ladies and gentlemen, without God
in our Nation, there is no future. Being ashamed of God and excluding Him from
our schools, workplaces and governments creates the chaotic situation that we
are in today. Yes, it is very important that we pray for our country, but it is
crucial that we stop compromising and finally make a stand for righteousness.
I am not ashamed to make a stand
and speak up on behalf of the unborn. Are you?
