Father Frank's Alerts

August 2018

Dear Florida Neighbors,

I need you to help me ask one of our U.S. senators, Bill Nelson, a question, and the question is this:

Why did he not show up to vote regarding the protection of babies from painful, late-term abortions?

Back in January, when the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act was on the Senate floor, he was “not present” when members voted to end the filibuster. Sixty votes were needed to bring the bill to the floor for a vote, but only 51 senators, including Sen. Marco Rubio, voted yes. Babies continue to suffer the excruciating agony of late-term abortion as a result of the Senate’s failure to enact this bill, which President Trump is willing to sign.

Now we know that Senator Nelson has a pro-abortion voting record. For instance,

- Planned Parenthood Action Fund rates his voting record over the last six years at 100 percent, while National Right to Life rates his lifetime voting record at 2 percent.

- He repeatedly voted against the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act in 2003 and supported an amendment that would have killed the Act, which ultimately was enacted despite his best efforts.

- He voted against the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act in 2015. This act is designed to protect babies in the womb from painful second or third-trimester abortion.

So apparently, Sen. Nelson is OK with babies being dismembered in the womb.

But if he is, he should say so. And if he’s not, he should say that too.

Yet when the matter came up for a vote, he did not say either yes or no.

Let’s ask him why.

In this alert, I am asking every Florida resident to call one of the senator’s offices to ask why he decided to sit out this very important vote. We’ve asked him ourselves and we can’t get a straight answer. If thousands of his constituents want to know his reasoning, he might finally formulate an answer to explain his mysterious abstention.

Please act today, and please pass along this email to as many others you know who may be interested.

And thank you for being part of the Priests for Life Family!

Sincerely,
