Stealth Care

A lot of energy was expended to stop the “Freedom of Choice Act” (FOCA), and those efforts succeeded. But pro-life groups warned that the FOCA provisions to expand abortion and force us to pay for it would be snuck in under another bill.

Well now it’s here, and we have to act quickly to stop it. The health care reform bills now being finalized in Congress are going to end up mandating the federal funding of abortion without even mentioning the word — unless Congress explicitly excludes abortion. And that’s what we have to urge them to do. Otherwise, we will end up with a health care reform bill that will expand abortion more radically than anything since Roe vs. Wade.

Abortion, of course, is not health care and has nothing to do with health care. After all, what disease does abortion cure? None. And what proven medical benefit comes from the procedure? Again, none.

But in the minds of President Obama and the abortion lobby, abortion is essential. On July 17, 2007, for instance, Barack Obama said to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, “Reproductive care is essential care, basic care so it is at the center, the heart of the plan that I propose…insurers are going to have to abide by the same rules in terms of providing comprehensive care, including reproductive care…that’s going to be absolutely vital.”

And Hilary Clinton said the following to the House Foreign Affairs Committee on April 22, 2009: “Reproductive health includes access to abortion…”

Many will be misled by the fact that the health care bills don’t talk about abortion. But as Congressman Chris Smith pointed out in a June 26 letter to colleagues in Congress, “Without abortion explicitly excluded from any government mandated or government funded benefits package, abortion will be included. Time and again, bureaucrats and courts have decided that abortion must be included in public health programs unless the Congress explicitly provides otherwise.” That is why explicit exclusions of abortion have been placed in programs like SCHIP and the Federal Employee Health Benefits Plan.

Without such an exclusion in health care reform legislation, federal officials would be empowered to mandate coverage of abortion in virtually all health plans; massive federal subsidies would be provided for abortion on demand; an expansion of abortion providers would be required; and at least some state abortion regulations would be nullified.

A vast majority of Americans oppose the public funding of abortion. As Congressman Smith points out, “Abortion funding restrictions save lives…The…Alan Guttmacher Institute periodically publishes reports on the effect of limitations on abortion funding. They have concluded that when Medicaid does not fund abortion 30% of Medicaid-eligible women who would have otherwise had an abortion choose life” (June 26 letter to colleagues).

In committee, pro-life amendments to prevent abortion coverage have already been rejected by pro-abortion legislators. And they want to vote on a health care bill within weeks, before people have a chance to consider all the implications. Your Representative and Senators need to hear from you today.

Counterstupid strikes again!….but is not worth taking seriously. ‘Abortion prevents C-sections’….who wants to argue with such an idiot?

One can never find well thought out or even interesting arguments for the pro-abort side… Which is not surprising, since abortion is an abomination.

“Robert B thinks abortions DON’T prevent c-sections??? Do explain.”

Operationcountersap, Robert B was commenting on the fact that your argument for abortion was a feeble one……..sorry you couldn’t figure that out.

If you wanted to try to stand up for your misguided side, you should have come up with more compelling (and wrong) arguments for your right to kill children. How about overpopulation? That is a good sound bite. I would be intrerested to see if any woman ever had an abortion for the sake of the earth, or because of her concern for global over-population.

Let me carry you a little bit and give you some more arguments (since you could only come up with c-sections) by taking arguments from some of your fellow idealogs. I found the following statement on a pro-abort web site. Maybe it will give you a fighting chance to convince someone with small mind to kill their unborn children.

“How many of the major problems facing humanity today are aggravated and made worse by having more people on the planet? Consider problems such as poverty, starvation, overcrowding, wars, crime, gang violence, child abuse, environmental destruction, rainforest destruction, ozone depletion, topsoil destruction, air pollution, water pollution, and species extinction”.

So all of these problems are going to be solved if we could just have more abortions in this country and around the world. So we could end poverty if we just killed more people. All of those pesky poor people, forget the idea of compassion, let’s kill them before they use up OUR precious resources. How about worrying about education instead of extermination.

Wars. That is a big one. We could prevent wars if we just had more abortions. That certainly makes sense to me. Darned fetuses…..causing all of those wars. They come out of their mothers ready to fight.

(I will help you out here) If you came back with the argument that it is when those fetuses grow up and use up natural resources and that causes the wars, I would say that wars are more often caused by ideologies than resources. (NOTE: Oprationcounterculture that I am so unimpressed with your inane level of drivel, that I am assisting you with possible comeback. A little hint: The combacks can be defeated too. Operationcounterstoop, I might as well argue with myself, you are still on c-sections)

Crime has certainly subsided now that abortion is legal. Forget economics, we all need fewer children……otherwise, with so many mouths to feed, I am going to be forced to go commit a crime against person or property. I have certainly heard about the explosion in Catholic criminals because of their desire to have children.

Gang violence is an interesting one since gangs tend to break up in racial lines, black, hispanic, asian and white. Operationcounterfool, which racial group would you prefer to abort to get rid of gang violence? If you pick one you are racist, if you say all should be aborted equally you are disgusting and of course “Pro-Choice”……which you are.

Child abuse has certainly disappeared now that we allow abortions.

I could keep doing this but I am tired of arguing with you over arguments you were not even able to come up with. I had to research additional arguments for you.

PS. Picking on a fantastic priest like Father Frank shows me that you have a lack of character. This is not surprising considering your positions.

    Until we meet again

I am against most of what Obama stands for, but on this he is right. When we begin to disregard the basic principles of our constitution, we are handing the terrorists a major victory. We must understand that the vast majority of Muslims are good moral people. The extremists are the ones causing the damage and they are a disgrace to most Muslims. Christians have had their extremists as well…..think of the loonies who protest at soldiers funerals, the KKK, and other Christian Militant groups. It would be ashame to let these fringe groups define the Christian Identity. We should not let that happen to those of other religions either for it will, eventually, come full circle!!!
