If you want to know why the Catholic faith teaches that killing the unborn is wrong, just ask why it teaches that killing the born is wrong. It’s the same reason. We are not talking here about some complicated, lofty religious truth discerned only with the most exquisite ability to pierce the mysteries of revelation, and subject to varying and abstruse theological interpretations. Rather, we are talking about the same reason why the Faith tells us that it is wrong to shoot someone in the street. And the Faith tells us this is wrong simply because human reason tells us it’s wrong. Violence against the innocent is always to be rejected. The age of the victims and the method of killing may vary, but the teaching does not.
