Houston abortionist killing babies born alive – Press Release

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, announced this afternoon that Priests for Life has launched a project to expose Texas abortionist Douglas Karpen, and the evidence that he is killing babies born alive, and violating numerous other laws. We are calling for a full-scale investigation by Texas state authorities.

“The Harris County, Texas, District Attorney has already opened an investigation; we are sending out an action alert to the Attorney General to take swift and thorough action until this abortionist is stopped,” Fr. Frank explained.

“As we have said, Kermit Gosnell is not the exception in the abortion industry; he is the norm. As we have seen countless cases in the past, we expect to see many more in the future. And each of them should prompt us all to action.

“Priests for Life is working in partnership with Life Dynamics and Operation Rescue on highlighting the atrocities being committed in Karpen’s clinic and elsewhere. We have set up the web site TexasGosnell.com to provide vital information about the ongoing investigation and how people can support it.”

The investigation was prompted by video testimony from three of Karpen’s former employees, who describe the truly horrific conditions at the clinic and the brutal murders of newborn babies there.

    Dear Fr. Pavone,

I am so happy you are going to expose abortionist Douglas Karpen, and anxiously look forward to updates on that. Since I live in the Houston area, one would think that we should get news updates about the investigation of the horrible atrocities alleged against Douglas Karpen. Sadly, there is very limited information and many of us are worried about a cover-up by the Harris County D.A. office and Texas Medical Board. I just submitted the following as a letter to the editor of our local newspaper:

    WILL THIS BE ANOTHER COVER-UP?

I am compelled to write this letter to the editor because of the irrepressible need within me to share thoughts about lack of accountability the ‘system’ expects from certain practices within our medical profession. In this case, the ‘system’ being the entities of governing oversights responsible to protect us, the public. The ‘system’ comprising of the boards who are established to insure compliance with accepted medical practice, the law enforcement agencies that exist to thoroughly investigate and arrest practices that fall outside the bounds of law, and the courts who are expected to administer justice against behavior that falls outside the law. Specifically, the accountability expected from abortionists seems to be non-existent. Taking a couple examples, Kermit Gosnell operated at gross negligence throughout a career of abortion practice. Gosnell’s history of malpractice was ignored for years, even though complaints to state and local officials were regularly lodged against him. We have a similar case in Texas, whereby the abortionist has a long history of many formal malpractice complaints from 1986 to present. These complaints are of the most serious nature, ranging from maiming mothers to outright murder of birthed babies. There has been a chorus of outcry against this abortionist by multiple pro-life groups, yet he still holds his medical license and continues to operate his clinics as if protected by the ‘system’. In May of this year, Texas Lt Governor Dewhurst demanded an investigation of this abortion practitioner who is considered the second Kermit Gosnell. In early June, State Rep. Phil King wrote a letter that was co-signed by 20 Texas lawmakers, insisting on a full investigation of this abortionist. Here we are nearly six months later and the abortionist is still in business, and according to the Texas Medical Board website still carries his medical license with no complaints of record. What is up with that?!?!?!?! When will this murderer be taken off the streets????
