The commemoration of September 11 is upon us once again this week. 

I recommend to your reflection the column I wrote in January of 2002 on September 11 and abortion (http://www.priestsforlife.org/columns/columns2002/sep11andabortion.htm). It talks about how religion is misused to justify violence – the kind that occurred on September 11, and the kind that occurs in abortion clinics every day. 

Politicians who invoke their faith or their Church or ancient theologians to try to justify child-killing in the United States also have something to learn from this reflection. It’s time for these politicians to stop imitating the terrorists.
