A word on voting for Mitt Romney. I am a Catholic Pro-life physician and quite honestly during the Republican primary was a supporter of Senator Rick Santorum who I viewed as the most strongly pro-life candidate. That said I think that it is pretty obvious that those of us who seek to promote a culture of life support Governor Romney, even if on some issues he is not as completely pro-life as we would wish. First there is the obvious reason that President Obama is an implacable foe. He has promoted unlimited abortion for any reason throughout all 9 months of Pregnancy, including the killing of infants who manage to survive abortion. As President he will appoint to vital agencies people who are not friends of the unborn ( or the elderly/ disabled) and his power to do this is increased exponentially because of the powers given to the executive branch by Obamacare. In fact the ability to order the Catholic Church to pay for contraceptives and abortifacient drugs is given to the HHS secretary by Obamacare. The judges he will appoint to the courts including the supreme court will promote and extend the abortion license. I expect their will be further coercion including mandating that medical students learn about or participate in abortion ( this has been a goal of the pro-abortion folks for a long time, and if successful will make it impossible for a sincere Catholic to enter the medical profession. I could go on but Obama is simply a slowly unfolding catastrophe for the culture of life. Romney will of course not be such a fanatic. He is on record as opposing some of this, but at the least is unlikely to issue executive orders so anti-life as Obama. He has picked Paul Ryan for his vice president, and Ryan is probably the most pro-life VP pick in history. ( his stated pro-life positions and voting record is more pro-life than Reagan who most of us considered basically an ally) Romney will likely focus on the economy but very likely will appoint judges and executive branch officials more friendly to us than Obama will. We must slow the train down before we can reverse course, and right now the Obama train is heading headlong into the land of the abortion zealots. Romney is the only choice. I urge all pro-life people to support him.

I do not think we have anyone to vote for in this election. I am pro-life, but do not like Mitt Romney as I do not trust him.

Mother Angelica, many years ago said to pray that the person who gets in changes their Heart. I'll pray for the person elected to change their heart to go along with God, which is each life is from Him and so special.

I am also very ill and on Disability. There is no person to vote for in this election. I, for the first time am at a loss here. - I never trust a person who flip flops and lies. That is Mitt Romney. I do not like what President Obama has done and I plan, as soon as I am mentally and physically able to write him a letter. I don't know who will get in, but this whole world and country need prayer - Lots of PRAYER

The issue is very touchy. The constitution and the seperation of the church and state. IE: The tax status of the church is in jeopardy if the church politically stands for a canidate. Maureens point is taken, but not understood completely. THe church's stance on the vote is to make a responsible choice. when given the oppurtunity. We all fail at this in a great way. We Do NOt get out and place good solid canidates from the beginning, ( The primaries) Money and Greed are all evil influences. We Do NOt have good stewards of the time, talent, and treasure( MOney) supporting this effort. Bottom line we need more people to hear the call of CHrist to Stand for the Truth and not be swayed. Unfourtanately the devil has corrupted our society. We need to counteract that with support any and all efforts made to lead to the truth of the Gospel. That is the Churches and Gods stance on the issue. You can't be mad at the systme because we have created it. We need to be more involved and change it. Everyone is to play a part not just a few.

I completely agree with Maureen! Her views do state clearly what is the choice in this election, a continuation of the Democratic Party's march into the culture of death and the Republican candidate's views which are much more in line with the Church's teaching. The choice should be obvious to anyone who call themselves Catholic!!

This message is inconsistent with Fr. Frank Pavone's HOW TO VOTE WITH AN INFORMED CONSCIENCE issued before the last election which stated that when both candidates are not completely in line with catholic teaching one votes to lessen the evil by voting for the candidate who is most in line with the church teaching and who has a chance of winning.

This message re-enforces voter confusion, since it leaves out the main problem which is that they need to vote against the greater evil her by voting Obama out. Some people they cannot vote for either of the candidates ..the only 2 choices who have a chance of to win at this point.

If we can not vote for Romney this would also make the Al Smith Dinner in New York with cardinal Dolan
sharing the cheerful evening with 2 candidates, neither of which completely agrees with the Church ridiculous. But of course Romney is noticeably better than Obama and therefore needs our vote.

We are not a Catholic Nation and have never been ,as some of the countries in Europe and South America are or were. We have a vice presidential candidate who is a faithful Catholic and he is running with Romney. We have a non -faithful Catholic running with Obama..so the worst evil is with the Democratic candidates.

It seems from this presentation and many others by Catholic websites, that you are helping to elect the worst evil again by not telling voters that they can vote for the non-catholic candidate who best conforms to Church teaching and his faithful catholic running mate on the Republican ticket. There is a significant difference between the VIABLE candidates in this race.
