Today’s Pro-Life Reflection

Baby with Tear

This reflection is taken from my book Pro-Life Reflections for Every Day, which is available for purchase at: ProLifeReflectionsForEveryDay.org

“To claim the right to abortion, infanticide and euthanasia, and to recognize that right in law, means to attribute to human freedom a perverse and evil significance: that of an absolute power over others and against others. This is the death of true freedom: “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin” (Jn 8:34)” (John Paul II, The Gospel of Life, n.20).

Reflection: Freedom has a meaning and a consistency; it never destroys in others what it claims for itself. So much oppression masquerades as “freedom of choice.”

Prayer: Lord, only in you and in your Word do we discover the power of freedom. Amen.

It has only recently become clear to me that human life commences at the moment of conception or even earlier (intention, within a marriage to have children). The reality iof our culture of feminism is painful to me. This holocaust is to me the ultimate rejection of all that is good by our culture. Itsma clear philisophical and practical statement by our culture that we live for our whims and convienience at the expense of the weakest. It is the opposite of virtue. I actually think it is what will bring the west down. I don’t know what to do with my pain and sorrow.
