“Wicked people and imposters will grow ever worse, deceiving others and being themselves deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13).
Reflection: Euthanasia advocates try to paint Terri Schiavo’s death as peaceful, gentle and dignified. They are selling death as a product, as a better alternative than a life of suffering. But Terri, when dying, had a look of terror and sadness on her face. She was panting and her eyes were rapidly moving from side to side. In no way was this death gentle, peaceful, or dignified. Rather, it was cruel murder by dehydration — an action we would not carry out on an animal.
Prayer: Forgive your people, Lord, and free us from deception. Amen.
