This reflection is taken from my book Pro-Life Reflections for Every Day, which is available for purchase at: ProLifeReflectionsForEveryDay.org.
“Really, what we have here is only the tragic caricature of legality; the democratic ideal, which is only truly such when it acknowledges and safeguards the dignity of every human person, is betrayed in its very foundations” — The Gospel of Life, 20
Reflection: Simply because a law may be passed “in the proper way” does not automatically mean it is legitimate. Authentic law serves the good of people, and the protection of their rights.
Prayer: Lord, may legislators and judges see the foundations of authentic law.
