STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Hundreds of thousands of young people around the world will sacrifice their voices on Oct. 16 for the Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity. These young people will stand in solidarity with the thousands of children who lose their voices every day in the abortion holocaust. Many participants will wear red duct tape emblazoned with the words “Life” or “Silenced” over their mouths as they pass out fliers explaining the event, whose theme this year is “I Survived Roe V Wade, Roe v. Wade Will Not Survive Me.” “Students will be sending a loud and clear message that abortion must end and all innocent human life must be protected from conception to natural death,” said event organizer Bryan Kemper, founder Stand True Pro-life Outreach and Youth Outreach Director for Priests for Life.
America is closing in on the 40th anniversary of Roe v. on Jan. 22, 2013. One full generation of Americans have lived under the shadow of Roe and decriminalized child killing. Priests for Life, Survivors of The Abortion Holocaust, Students for Life of America are just a few of the organizations committed to educating, activating and equipping today’s young people to the generation that will succeed in abolishing abortion.
“The Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity is a day that pro-life students can stand in unity to honor those who have been permanently silenced by the violent act of abortion”, said Kristan Hawkins of Student for Life of America. “This is a great way for pro-life student groups to impact their campus by raising awareness of the personhood of the pre-born child and the resources available for women facing a crisis pregnancy, in order to empower them to choose life.”
Kristina Garza of Survivors said, “Students’ silent witness during the Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity conveys to their peers and faculty the seriousness of abortion. It takes a certain amount of courage to commit to silence during an entire day of school. It is acting with that kind of courage that will end the holocaust initiated by Roe vs. Wade.” This is the ninth annual Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity; students at thousands of high schools, middle schools and home schools have pledged to remain silent in solidarity with thousands of unborn children permanently silenced by abortion every single day. “Over the past eight years we have heard from hundreds of girls who canceled their abortions because of the Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity as well as hundreds of kids who changed their hearts and are now pro-life,” Kemper said. “These are just the ones we have heard back from; we have no idea how many lives were actually saved. But we do know that just one life makes this whole day worth the effort.” The Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity is a project of Stand True, the youth outreach of Priests for Life, and is co-sponsored by LifeNews.com, Students for Life of America and Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust. Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, stated, “I am proud we are sponsoring this project and urge schools to support the students who engage in it. To all students, we ask, ‘Are you willing to give up your voice for a day for those who will never have a voice?’” For more information, visit www.SilentDay.org.
