National Director of Priests for Life will be featured speaker at Life
Symposium 2000
Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, will be the
featured speaker at the Life Symposium 2000 September 27 at the Lipscomb Center,
4455 Narrow Lane Road, Montgomery.
Father Pavone, who is internationally known for TV appearances on the Eternal
Word Television Network, Hannity and Colmes, and Fox News, will speak on
abortion.
He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of New York in 1988 by the late
Cardinal John O'Connor and became National Director of Priests for Life in 1993.
Father Pavone serves full time in his position traveling around the country and
world preaching and teaching against abortion and helping other priests to do
the same.
The Symposium will mark the fifth anniversary of the U.S. Catholic Bishops'
statement on "Living the
Gospel of Life."
Other featured speakers at the Symposium include Lucia Penland, Director of
the Alabama Prison Project, who will speak on capital punishment, and Dr.
Michael Meshad, a Mobile oncologist, who will discuss end of life issues.
Time will be allotted for questions following each speaker's presentation
moderated by Father Ernest Hyndman, Holy Family Parish, Mobile.
The Symposium is being sponsored by the Respect Life Office of the
Archdiocese of Mobile, the Priests' Council of Mobile and Alabama Citizens for
Life.
