Priests For Life to address Knights of Columbus

Father Walter J. Quinn, priest associate of Priests for Life of New York led by Father Frank A. Pavone, will address the Knights of Columbus and people of all faiths of Daphne and Mobile on "The American Holocaust" of abortion at 6:30 PM on Thursday, September 20th, at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Main Street, Daphne, next to the Shrine of the Holy Cross Church in Daphne. Father Quinn, an ordained priest for 40 years, former U.S. Army veteran and businessman, will address the abortion issue facing the nation in view of American history and what it will take to win the war for the forces of life. The free pro-life gathering, with reception and refreshments, is open to people of all faiths and is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 2737 of Daphne, AL.

Father Walter J. Quinn, O.S.A., is a member of the Augustinian province of St. Thomas stationed at Villanova University, at Philadelphia, PA. Fr. Quinn is one of now 6 full-time associates traveling the country on pro-life mission with Priests for Life. He is a Graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School of Business, having served two years in the US Army during the Korean War. He then worked in industrial sales traveling on the road in the PA, NJ and DE tri-state area. After discerning his true vocation, Fr Quinn entered the Seminary at Villanova University and at the Augustinian College in Washington, DC, and was ordained to the Priesthood in Washington's National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in 1961.

Fr. Quinn brings to Priests for Life and to America, 38 years of pastoral experience as an Augustinian priest, a business and military background. He has been involved in the pro-life movement since the late 60's, long before the 1973 "Roe vs Wade" decision that overturned America's laws which protected unborn children in their mothers since the founding of our nation.

Father Walter Quinn's appearance at Mobile is part of the Priests for Life - Mission of Life Alabama Campaign, which will begin with the celebration of Mass over EWTN at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery, at Irondale, AL on September 19th. Radio and TV appearances are scheduled at Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile and Pensacola. Fr. Quinn will be traveling across Alabama aboard "The Guardian of Life" RV, sponsored by Alabama Citizens for Life and Mission of Life USA. Fr. Quinn and PFL-Mission of Life volunteers will be on hand aboard the LIFE RV to promote life issues at both the Florida Respect Life Conference 2001 at Pensacola on September 21st, 22nd and at Life Symposium 2001 at Mobile, Monday, September 24th. While at Mobile, Fr. Quinn is also scheduled to address the Youth Mass at Christ the King Church at 11:00 on Friday September 21st, and to celebrate other daily mission masses at St. Dominic's and at St. Pius X churches.
