A powerful new element was added to this year's observance of Roe v Wade. Women across the nation, representing various ages and backgrounds, made a public statement that abortion hurts women. Silent No More is a new collaboration of a handful of pro-life organizations that is having an emotive effect on the abortion controversy.

From January 17-25, over 800 women in 46 states gathered to publicly express their regret for a previous abortion(s). The events were totally void of any political presence. The message was simple, yet very clear and impacting. Each woman carried a sign that read, "I regret my abortion." These women courageously testified, by their presence, that abortion is not a healthy choice.

Actress and model, Jennifer O'Neill, the national spokesperson for the group, said, "To have the opportunity to encourage and comfort the hearts of millions of women who have suffered is humbling, and making the whole truth known about abortion is absolutely necessary."

The January event was only the beginning. Another is slated for May 10. Healing services are being organized to reach out to women and raise awareness among clergy that they need to address this problem from the pulpit. In addition, October memorial services for the unborn are being scheduled.

Silent No More breaks through political, religious and social boundaries and reaches women where they are with a message of compassion and hope.

Participants in Washington, DC witnessed the response of pro-abortion activists to this message. They reacted with shock, at first, and then were totally at a loss of how to respond. The pro-woman, pro-life theme has demonstrated that it is an effective public relations tool.
