Register Wins Pro-Life Award
Register features correspondent Tim Drake said an award for a pro-life
article he wrote was "especially poignant" for him because his own life had been
"threatened by abortion when I was still in the womb." Drake, of St. Cloud,
Minn., was given the first Bernardin-O'Connor Award for Pro-Life Journalism by
Priests for Life on May 30 at the annual Catholic Press Association convention
in Atlanta. His article, "Catholic Universities Push Abortions to Students," was
published in the Register's Dec 22-28, 2002, issue. The award is named for the
late Cardinals Joseph Bernardin of Chicago and John O'Connor of New York.
