Make every effort to attain your goals

The 105th Pennsylvania State Convention is over and I want to thank you, my
brother Knights, for the confidence you show in me to lead this great
jurisdiction for the next fraternal year.
The highlight of this year's convention was the presence of our very special
guest speaker Father Frank Pavone, Priest for Life. His talk was very
enlightening and an inspiration to all.
The weekend after the convention I had the honor and privilege to be a guest
at the Saint Vincent Seminary Commencement in Latrobe Pa. The solemn Vespers and
Conferral of Degrees was indeed a very special venue for the Knights of
Columbus.
Our Supreme Knight, Carl Anderson received an Honorary Degree - Doctor of
Humane Letters and also gave the commencement address. See our web site

This is my June message - we have one month left in this fraternal year to
reach our goals. Those councils who are close to achieving Star Council should
make every effort to attain this goal. Make one final push for membership, make
sure all your reports are in, and contact your field agent to make sure you
reach your insurance goal.
In July at the grand knight/district deputy's seminar, I want to induct as
many brother knights as possible into the Knights of The Round Table (details
will be provided at the seminar).
Let me quote Theodore Roosevelt, "It is not the critic who counts: not the
man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doers of deeds could
have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena,
whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who
errs and comes up short again and again, because there is no effort without
error or shortcoming, but who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions,
who spends himself for a worthy cause; who, at the best, knows, in the end, the
triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least he
fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and
timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat." Reach for the stars. Star
