Louisiana Life March South 2019 began near the State Capitol gardens and finished with a program at Galvez Plaza on North Boulevard, Saturday., Jan. 26, 2019. The event was held 46 years after the landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade that established a woman's legal right to an abortion.
Featured guest speaker was Atlanta, Ga.'s Alveda King,who currently serves as a Pastoral Associate and Director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, the African-American Outreach for Priests for Life and Gospel of Life Ministries. She's the daughter of the late civil rights activist Rev. A.D. King and his wife Naomi Barber King, and niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.The event was sponsored by Louisiana Right to Life, Louisiana Baptist Convention, Louisiana Conference of Catholic Bishops, United Pentecostal Church of Louisiana, Louisiana Family Forum, the Knights of Columbus, Baton Rouge Right to Life, Caring to Love Ministries, and Louisiana’s Concerned Women for America.
