Pro-Life Masses Due In Three Locations

Father Frank A. Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, will celebrate a pro-life Mass on the feast of the Holy Innocents, Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Manhattan, 229 W. 14th St. The missionary image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which has been touring the United States for three years, will be on display. The Mass will be celebrated for the intentions of the workers at Expectant Mother Care, a prolife pregnancy center, and the Legal Center for the Defense of Life, which promotes pro-life issues in the courts, both of Manhattan. Vondras, associate director for Respect Life Programs for the archdiocese, will celebrate a pro-life Mass Monday, Jan. 2. at St. Aedan's Church, 23 Reld Drive, Pearl River, at 7:30 p.m. On Monday, Jan. 9. Father Vondras will celebrate a pro-life Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, 148 Hamilton Ave., White Plains, at 7:30 p.m.

Deserved Response

To the Editor:

Cardinal O'Connor has to be extremely proud of Father Frank Pavone, the director of Priests for Life. Many priests in our nation have not responded to the evil of abortion in a way consistent with their sacred vocation. I pray Father Pavone will awaken these men of God to their responsibility to speak out in a more caring, more vocal, more aggressive way when it comes to the detestable evil of abortion.
