Father Frank A. Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, will dedicate a monument in memory of children killed by abortion Sunday, Aug. 20, after celebrating and preaching at the 11:30 a.m. Mass in Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne.

The Canadian pink granite stone with the simple inscription, ''Memorial to Unborn." will be placed in a small garden near the front of the church. It has been donated by parishioners Ernest and Donna Carpentieri.

Carpentieri, president of the parish Holy Name Society and operator of a funeral home in White Plains, told CNY that he and his wife have been longtime supporters of the pro-life movement. He proposed the memorial to the pastor, Father Dan Davies, O.P., after a parish council meeting earlier this year.
