Rapper Nick Cannon Guest on
NPLAC’s Face the Truth Radio Show This Saturday
Cannon Tells Profound True Story that
Inspired Hit Single, ‘Can I Live?’ and Addresses Any Potential Future Role in
the Pro-Life Movement
Washington, D.C.— The National Pro-Life Action
Center (NPLAC)—the uncompromising voice of pro-life America on Capitol Hill—will
have actor, comedian and musician Nick Cannon as the latest guest on its new
nationally syndicated radio show, Face the Truth—Coast-to-Coast with Steve
Peroutka.
“You can’t help but be moved by Nick’s story
and the visual narrative his music video provides,” stated host Steve Peroutka,
who is also chairman of NPLAC and a Maryland attorney. During the
interview—which airs Saturday, August 20, 2005, at 11:30 a.m. on XM Satellite
Radio channel 170—Peroutka pointed out that the lives of many babies have been
saved because of Nick’s hit song and video, “Can I Live?” Obviously moved
by this powerful reality, Cannon responded: “That’s amazing. Yeah, to
really think about that, regardless of…it really doesn’t matter how many records
I sell or anything. There are actually people coming to this earth because
of [my] song.”
Cannon also discussed the reasons why he felt
compelled to make this video, if he was prepared for the reaction—positive and
negative—that he has received to “Can I Live?,” and if he ever sees himself
taking a leading role in the pro-life movement.
“Nick Cannon epitomizes why every human life
is sacred and must be protected from the moment of conception. As he
describes it, he is here today because of his mother’s ‘courage.’ And the world
has benefited and been impacted because of that courage,” observed Peroutka.
“But Nick is only one story out of over 40 million. Right now someone is
pregnant with a future president of the United States, someone is pregnant with
the person who will cure cancer. As a people, we must have the courage to
say yes when these children ask ‘Can I Live?’”
Cannon revealed during the interview that his
perspective was greatly influenced by his grandmother, who has been a foster
parent for over 20 years and cared for many children in crisis situations.
He also said that his foundation—the Nick Cannon Foundation—is compiling a book
of testimonies and letters from people who have benefited by his song and video.
Face the Truth—Coast to Coast with Steve
Peroutka is heard every Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. on XM Satellite Radio
Family Channel 170. Additionally, NPLAC sponsors several other shows
