Fr. Frank's statement on the death of Fr. Ted Colleton

Fr. Frank Pavone
National Director, Priests for Life

May 03, 2011

The pro-life movement has lost one of its earliest and most dedicated leaders. Father Ted Colleton, former board member of Priests for Life Canada, died April 26, 2011, at the age of 97.

"Father Ted, as he was known to those who knew and loved him, was a prominent preacher and author who was never afraid to take on the Culture of Death," said Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. " Following his arrest outside an abortion mill in the 1980s, pro-aborts labeled him a radical, and Father Ted was thrilled. Two of his three books are titled 'Yes, I Am a Radical,' and 'Still a Radical.'

"Father Ted was known for his sense of humor, his warmth, and for the high regard he held for women. He was among the earliest to realize that to end abortion, we have to love unborn children and their mothers.

“As a priest, he was an outstanding example to other priests, and inspired them to be strong pro-life advocates in their ministry. For that, we at Priests for Life are especially grateful. Fr. Ted will be missed."
