Late October brought Fr. Scott Daniels back to one of his favorite parts of the nation, the Great Northwest, for a Parish Pro-Life Weekend at St. Cecilia’s Parish in Stanwood, Washington.
After concelebrating the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Saturday, Fr. Scott left with Tony and Luz Maria Emerson to join with 40 Days for Life participants at the Everett Planned Parenthood. Among the pro-life leaders standing vigil for the unborn were David Charboneau, Youth Minister at St. Mary’s Parish in Marysville, and Peter DeLuca, President of Integrity Orthotic Laboratories.
Fr. Scott presided and preached at all of the weekend Masses, emphasizing that we are to take what we have received from the Lord and be that in the world. We may not deviate from the truth, realizing that we are to be living signs of the Truth. Putting our faith in action means speaking up for the most defenseless in the world.
In addition to participating in the Masses and Prayer Vigil, Fr. Scott gave two talks on the culture of life, including a discussion of our civic responsibilities at election time.
