Fr. Denis Wilde, OSA in Greensburg, PA - October 2011

When Fr. Denis Wilde drove up to Our Lady of Grace Parish in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, he was greeted with a billboard proclaiming “A WILDE WEEKEND.” 

It was going to be a wonderful Pro-Life Parish visit.

After praying with 15 pro-lifers holding vigil at a Pittsburgh Planned Parenthood on Saturday morning, Fr. Denis visited the Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittsburgh before heading back to Greensburg for the Saturday vigil liturgy and Mass.  On Sunday, he preached at the morning Masses, then spent the afternoon with Bill and Mary Ryckmann at the St. Anthony Shrine in Pittsburgh, the largest depository of relics outside of the Vatican.

Sunday night Fr. Denis spoke to the Parish youth and Monday he met with students at two diocesan high schools, Geibel in Connellsville and Central Catholic in Greensburg.  Tuesday he broke bread with the Sisters of Charity at the Caritas Christi Retirement Home and was privileged to give a classical concert following lunch.  Later that afternoon, Fr. Denis participated in a prayer service with the Saint Gianna Molla Sodality followed by dinner and a well attended presentation in the Parish center.

All in all, a Wilde Weekend indeed!
