Future Lawyers and Judges |
|
|
I continue to
receive many invitations from seminaries. To
speak to our future priests about the primacy of the
abortion issue is a privilege, and a key aspect of
our strategy. They understand this better than most,
because they know that they could have been victims
of abortion themselves!

And our Current Priests |
|
|
We have also added to our staff! Here’s a
photo of our staff priests, taken at our April 2006 monthly meeting. We now
have ten priests on staff, all of whom are shown here, along with Fr. Michael
Colwell (second from right), who is the Vicar General of the Diocese of Amarillo
and was joining us for our meeting.
These monthly meetings bring together our
staff priests and our Pastoral Associates from various parts of the nation. We
pray and eat together, update each other, map out strategies, and hear from
guest speakers.

| And Bishops |
|
|
I recently had the pleasure of updating
Archbishop Gomez of San Antonio about our new community, the Missionaries of the
Gospel of Life, and about our plans to develop our new headquarters in Amarillo,
Texas. The Archbishop was making a visit to the Diocese of Amarillo, and Bishop
John Yanta brought him to our Society House for the meeting.
Speaking of our Society house, here are a
few photos from our Amarillo
headquarters where we are training our own seminarians
for the Missionaries of
the Gospel of Life!

| Terri’s Anniversary |
|
|
March 31, 2006 was the first anniversary of
the murder of Terri Schiavo. Fr. Peter West delivered a statement of mine at the
press conference that Terri’s family had in Washington DC on March 30.
Meanwhile, Janet Morana and I were with the
family at their home in Florida and also visited the gravesite, along with
Brother Paul O’Donnell and the Franciscan Brothers of Peace.

Priests for Life is grateful to State
Catholic Conferences and Diocesan Respect Life Directors
who invite us on a regular basis to places near and far,
to “stir up the troops” for the pro-life cause.
Here is a gallery of
photos from my recent
visit to Nebraska, where I joined the Governor and many
activists for pro-life rallies, a march, and a visit to a nearby seminary.

Nebraska Catholic Conference. Among the many things he does, Greg distributes
from his office the Priests for Life newsletter to every priest in the State of
Nebraska.

| Father West |
|
|
Fr. Peter West, one of our full-time priests
who has been with us since 1998, provides us with this
gallery of photos
from his recent visit to Amarillo. You’ll see scenes from the prayer vigil in front
of the Amarillo Planned Parenthood, complete with the iron fence they built
around their facility in honor of our moving our
headquarters to Amarillo. How they wish that iron fences could keep out the
truth about life, but they cannot.

| Sr.
Briege |
 |
|
I recently was with Sr. Briege McKenna at a conference at which we were both
speaking. Many of you know Sr. Briege, who has a worldwide healing ministry and
also ministers to priests, which makes her ministry intersect very nicely with
ours.

Ave Maria! |
|
|
It was a joy recently to visit the students of Ave Maria University in
Naples, Florida. The students were enthusiastic not only about the ministry of
Priests for Life, which many of them follow closely, but also about the new
community, Missionaries of the Gospel of Life, about which I spoke at length.
As you may know, the ministry of Priests for Life is consecrated to
Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Unborn. To her again we turn, and ask
for a speedy end to abortion. Ave Maria!
