Priests for Life now has a weekly hour long pro-life radio program on Radio Maria! The program is called The Gospel of Life.
That’s right. Radio Maria offered Priests for Life an hour-long show every week that can be heard from 6 to 7 p.m. ET every Tuesday. And if you’re a night owl, the show is re-aired Thursdays at 2 a.m. ET.
The show is called Gospel of Life, and Janet Morana, our executive director, is the weekly host, and she’ll be joined by Father Frank Pavone whenever his travel schedule allows.
The show debuted April 29 and featured two of our pastoral team members as guests – Kevin Burke of Rachel’s Vineyard and the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, and Bryan Kemper, our Youth Outreach director. When we opened the call-in line for listeners, a post-abortive woman called to ask about finding forgiveness.
This was an hour of radio with an impact!
Our next show, on May 6, will deal with pregnancy loss, which so many women feel most acutely around Mother’s Day. Our guests will be Nicole Peck, Kambra Malone and Carrie Magalski.
Nicole is the regional coordinator for Connecticut for Silent No More. A promising athlete in high school she chose an abortion when she became pregnant at 15 , and she has come to deeply regret that experience. She couldn’t have known it then, but she would never conceive another child. Now she speaks out publicly to let other women know the truth about abortion before they make that irrevocable choice and to reach other post-abortive women with a message of compassion and healing. Nicole would later marry and she and her husband have become the proud parents of adopted sons, so her story also is a living witness to the truth that adoption is the loving choice.
Kambra is the president and CEO and Carrie is the ministry director of Back in His Arms Again, an organization for couples who lose a child through miscarriage. In a society that allows for the callous destruction of the unborn, it becomes almost necessary to minimize the trauma of parents who lose their “wanted” children. To recognize that a miscarried child was a person would make it impossible to continue to see aborted children as something less. Many couples who do suffer miscarriage find they have to go it alone – until Kambra, recovering from the loss of her son – stepped into the gap. Carrie is both the ministry director for Back in His Arms Again and the community outreach coordinator for St. Gabriel Radio in Ohio – so, another radio pro!
Father Pavone will also be on Gospel of Life on May 6 to talk about Priests for Life lawsuit against the HHS mandate in the Affordable Care Act. Oral arguments will be heard in the case May 8 in the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C. Father Pavone, who is a named plaintiff in the case, along with Mrs. Morana and Dr. Alveda King, African-American Outreach Director. Father Pavone and Dr. King will speak at the I Stand With PFL rally taking place in front of the courthouse that morning.
Radio Maria, which began as a parish radio station in Milan, Italy, now has a worldwide reach. It began broadcasting from its first English-speaking station in Alexandria, Louisiana, in 2000. Now there are stations in seven states, and of course, the programming can be heard on the Internet at www.RadioMaria.US
Every week Janet Morana will give listeners an update on the important pro-life news of the week, interviews with guests who have powerful testimonies, and pro-life leaders who will provide up-to-date reports from the front line of our pro-life battle. Janet also will be giving away a pro-life item every week, so make sure to tune in!
