Supporters of Tennessee Right to Life joined recently to celebrate the completion of the new state office located in Nashville.  A first in the organization’s 30 year history, the new building houses administrative offices, an educational resource center and outreach counseling services for women and families facing difficult pregnancies.  The counseling element is most critical, say Right to Life officials, considering the providential location of the building just three doors from one of Nashville’s two abortion clinics.

“Our new building was donated to us with the stipulation that it be moved from its previous location,” said Brian Harris, president of Tennessee Right to Life. “It was no small undertaking for a non-profit to move a building across the city but God made a way and here we are today,” said Harris.

After finding and purchasing the piece of undeveloped land, TRL worked hard to coordinate the total refurbishing of the building.  By time of completion, more than 60 contractors, companies and tradesmen had donated or significantly discounted their services and materials.  “This project demonstrates that many Tennesseans share a concern for the protection of life.  They only need an invitation and an opportunity to do their part for the cause of life,”  commented Myra Simons, development associate for TRL.

Highlighting the new building’s dedication was a special appearance by Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life.  Father Pavone was invited by Tennessee Right to Life to offer a pastoral blessing over the new facility.  “We pray asking God’s blessing on this place where life affirming decisions will be made for years to come,” offered Pavone.   “We pray from a position of victory knowing that victory of life over death has already been accomplished and we stand in that victory today.”

Tennessee Right to Life invites pro-life supporters to visit the new office when in Nashville.  “This building belongs to Tennessee’s pro-life movement and we can all rejoice in what has been given here for the cause of human life in our communities, state and nation,” commented Harris.
