Ladies and Gentlemen, Honored Guests,

We are here today to tell the truth.

The truth is that Pregnancy Centers provide women much needed and desired pregnancy choices. Abortion clinics on the other hand offer pain and death.

The truth is that, by saving lives, pregnancy care centers are cutting into the business of the city’s abortion mills.

The truth is that Bill 371 does not represent a compassionate desire to help women; it represents an ongoing reflection of Margaret Sanger’s racist eugenics genocidal greedy desire to eliminate what she caused “undesirables,” and to shut down the abortion industry’s competition.

The truth is that Life is a Civil Right. Abortion is a Civil wrong! It violates a person’s right to life!

The abortion industry knows that when women hear that they really do have choices; that they don’t have to give in to the boyfriend or parent telling them to abort; that they do have people willing to help them and their babies make it – it’s bad for business.

So with the help of Bill 371, the abortion industry hopes to continue their “business.”

In my role as Director of African American Outreach for Priests for Life, I travel across the country, sometimes by car, sometimes by plane, and sometimes on the Priests for Life Prolife Freedom Bus. May I say what an honor it is to work full-time with such a highly organized and effective family of ministries like Priests for Life.

Father Frank Pavone and I, and truly all of the members of the Prolife Movement are truly and deeply grateful for the courage and compassion of Archbishop Dolan here in New York. No thanks to Margaret Sanger, abortion began in this city, and thanks and praise be to God, with the help of leaders like Archbishop Dolan and Fr. Frank, abortion will end right here where it started.

Tonight, you are hearing startling statistics. The abortion camp and some in the media will try to distract you in a quibble over numbers. Is it 39% or 41% of babies aborted in New York? The bottom line is that too many babies are being aborted!

In the 1960s and 70s, we had institutional racism, where discrimination deprived people of education and livelihoods.  Today, the racism of the abortion industry literally destroys people’s lives. And what they don’t kill in the wash, they go back for in the rinse. Along with the actual abortions, they also administer “family planning” products that can later be linked to breast and cervical cancer, miscarriages and premature births, and a whole host of problems for women and their children and families.

Did you know that? Abortion and invasive chemical pregnancy “preventatives” are linked to breast cancer, premature births, cervical cancer and other medical problems. Let’s face it, abortion is not a civil right, and abortion is not health care. Abortion is death care!

We’re talking about mothers, like me, who give witness in the Silent No More Awareness Campaign and the Rachel’s Vineyard healing ministry; about the emotional and physical pain and trauma of abortion’s aftermath.

And we’re talking about the fathers who have lost their legacies.

We’re also talking about the communities that have been deprived of hope for the future – because they have been told that they should destroy their children for their own good.

My uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., said, “The Negro cannot win if he is willing to sacrifice the futures of his children for immediate comfort and safety.”

Pregnancy care centers are telling women, indeed all women, that we do not have to sacrifice the futures of our children.  We do not have to abort babies and our dreams.

Bill 371 is trying to silence the truth. Why don’t they post signs outside their offices saying “We kill your babies here?”

Friends, New York’s pregnancy care centers are fighting to give women and their families choices and save babies’ lives.  We have to fight for them.

Make your voices heard.

No monopolies for the abortion industry.

No infringements on free speech.

No on Bill 371!
