Fr. Pavone Applauds New Kansas Abortion Law

NEW YORK – Fr. Frank Pavone is praising Kansas Governor Sam Brownback for signing legislation to provide women with more information prior to an abortion.

“Caveat emptor – buyer beware – clearly applies to the shady abortion industry,” said Fr. Pavone. “Kansas’s new law provides much-needed consumer protection for women who enter an abortion business.”

Governor Brownback has signed a measure that requires an abortionist to provide certain background information to a woman seeking his services, including if he has faced professional disciplinary action, has malpractice insurance, or even lives in Kansas.

“Women have a right to know the credentials of the practitioner who will be taking their children’s lives and whether that abortionist will be in an airplane jetting off to another state when complications develop,” added Fr. Pavone.  “Governor Brownback and the Kansas legislature have enacted important rules for doctors who kill at least half of their patients. Governor Brownback had been a friend to me and to the pro-life movement for many years, and today he has once again given an example for every Governor to follow."
