Dear Missionary of the Gospel of Life,
Greetings in the Name of the One Who makes all things new!
In my previous email I discussed the importance of beginning the
New Year in a reflective, repentant, and hopeful way. It is in
this spirit and union with God that we take to the highways as
we Witness - and March - for Life this January.
Whether we are participating in local or national marches, or
active in other forms of witness and prayer, I ask that you join
me in reading Fr. Frank's article, "Why I March for Life":
www.priestsforlife.org/articles/whyimarch.htm.
You may find a full listing of Priests for Life/Pro-Life
Activities in Response to 36 years of Roe vs. Wade at
www.priestsforlife.org/roe/index.htm.
Here are some of the key events:
Thursday, January 22, Washington, D.C.:
8:15am ET: Fr. Frank will preach at the National Memorial for
the PreBorn and their Mothers and Fathers in the US Senate
(exact location TBA). This morning prayer service is
interdenominational and will feature powerful singing and
preaching to prepare you for the afternoon's March for Life.
The public is asked to be seated by 8:15am. Be sure to arrive
early to allow time to get through security. The service will
begin at 8:30am.
12 noon - The March for Life Rally begins on the National Mall.
Fr. Frank Pavone will greet marchers in front of the Supreme
Court after the March.
3:45pm ET: Silent No More Awareness Campaign (www.silentnomoreawareness.org)
gathering in front of the Supreme Court. Janet Morana and
Georgette Forney, Co-Founders of the SNM Campaign, will be
present, along with Fr. Frank who will give opening remarks and
prayers.
6pm ET: Rose Dinner at the Hyatt Regency, Washington, DC.
Throughout the nation, there will be many pro-life activities on
the 22nd. Here are two examples:
12noon-2pm: Dr. Alveda King, Director of African American
Outreach, will be speaking at the Together for Life Annual
Memorial for the Unborn at the Georgia State Capitol Building at
214 State Capitol Atlanta, GA. Sponsored by Georgia Right to
Life.
My beloved wife Joy and I will appear on Life on the Rock with
hosts Father Mark Mary and Doug Barry on EWTN, Thursday, January
22, 2009 at 8pm ET. Be part of the live show by calling
1-800-221-9460 or email rock@ewtn.com.
This show will replay on Friday, January 23 at 1am and 1pm and
Sunday, January 25 at 11pm. For more information or to watch
online see
www.ewtn.com/rock/index.asp.
On Saturday, January 24, in San Francisco, the 5th Annual Walk
for Life West Coast will take place in San Francisco, CA. See
www.walkforlifewc.com
for more information. Fr. Frank Pavone and Fr. Denis Wilde, OSA,
will be in attendance.
From our knees, to the streets, let us unite in this New Year
and bear witness to the greatest message on earth, The Gospel of
Life.
